      Thank you truly Tirar. Your support means a lot. You've been a true mentor with your approach to the ASMR community as a whole and your videos are fantastic. If any of my comparatively small audience is reading this, I hope you take a moment to checkout Tirar's ASMR channel. His take on societal issues are satirical and I think a fan of history and political science can absolutely appreciate them on a relaxation as well as intellectual but yet fun level. Thank you Tirar and have a great Valentine's day with your family.

    What an interesting video 💚 ! I have to say that, apart from Victoria falls, I didn't know a lot of things about this country. But thanks to you I have discovered it much better and it seems to be gorgeous 😯. Your voice is always so calming 😌. And I like the colours of your background very much. This blue and purple atmosphere at the beginning is harmonious and catchy at the same time. Very great job 👍 ! Merci 💚.

      SG!!! Thank you so much for saying such kind words. I find that most people dont know a ton about Zimbabwe outside of the region, but its a magical place for sure. I am so glad to be able to help you learn more about it! And thank you so much for noticing the background. I upgraded my lights and camera for the past 6 videos or so and so I am still learning how to make my videos look really good! I thought those colors matched very nicely and I am so glad you noticed and liked it. I think its important to have harmonious and calm colors when doing ASMR! I hope the next video will be even more harmonious because I upgraded my light so its much more soft light! Thats for being such a gentleman and always saying such kind words my friend! Would love to see something like this about the Netherlands, I believe they have a beautiful country and brilliant culture, although I am from there, I do not speak Dutch and actually have very minimal knowledge on its history. But I have been to visit and it’s one of the most intriguing places in Europe, I especially love the architecture and landmarks. I remember walking through on a school trip and it reminded me a lot of Rialto and eichenwalde xD. Also thanks for the email today, I have sent a reply and would be grateful if you could read it in your spare time as I have some questions and need a bit of advice on some things. The canals are magical though! The history there is fascinating especially during the 1500's and the age of Mercantalism. Amsterdam was once the center of European glory. Rialto is based on a bridge in Venice which is superrrrr beautiful as well. I hope one day you get a chance to visit. And its a pleasure, I'm glad to help when I get time to do it. I have a South Africa video coming out in the near future but I will revisit Zimbabwe and take a different angle. By the way their main food is Sadza which is a corn meal mash. Its really really tasty! But of course there is also the same foods that we eat. I used to eat at an "American" restaurant when I lived in Bulawayo where they played the same U2 CD on repeat and served ranch styled BBQ. Really great times! You must visit South Africa its one of the most beautiful countries. It really has great natural beauty, lovely culture, food, people, and history. I spent about 6 months total travelling throughout South Africa and have driven across it several times as well. If you do go to South Africa I strongly recommend a visit to Kruger National Park. A true Gem! Sadza is basically a corn meal mash and they put onions, tomatoes and meats on top of it. I used to enjoy eating it while I was there but it is not for sale here in the US. Hey Nathan! In your little bit about yourself video you mentioned being a journalist, I was curious, were you an investigative journalist and if so what types of events did you investigate?

    • @NathanASMR

      Hi Zachrix! Thank you so much for this comment. I truly appreciate it. My career started in Baltimore public radio with my mentor who focused a lot on Crime/Corruption. That was my first stint. Then, I started doing Music and Technology, so I'd interview bands, hangout with them and report on their new albums etc. Then for Tech I usually focused on Cybersecurity (Going to BlackHat and other cybersecurity events)! I then spent a couple years abroad reporting on Sustainable Agriculture, International stuff etc. I did a lot of production/reporting work from Africa and Latin America. I didn't have to do "breaking news" events though. Mostly I focused on longer form, but for many years I would go to music shows, go to studios, travel to cybersecurity events, that kind of thing. I really like being out in the field, but I hate reporting on breaking news because it is A. Stressful, B. You actually have to race against other reporters (sometimes litertally physically like running to get your story to your editor first LOL) C. More Controversial in general---These days I'm not out in the field though and I've been trying to throw in some ASMR "Reporting" as well. Thats a big reason I am the co-host of TingleCon, the annual ASMR convention! Are you also working in journalism? Thank you so much for asking and I love talking about this subject so glad to answer any other questions. Have a great week!

      @@NathanASMR Thanks for the reply! And no, I am not working in journalism although I have great respect for journalists and the work they produce. It’s rare to see long form journalistic work these days. I don’t even have a career haha, I’m 16 :)

      @@Zachrix Wow thats so cool to hear! Thank you so much. Journalism is one of the most important tools we have in our society to ask important questions! I am so glad you recognize the importance of having good journalists! And yes it is very rare to see long form journalism however I was lucky to be working for a company that prefers longer form and more conversational style. Actually I'm the cohost of TingleCon (the annual ASMR Convention) and I'll be showing my hosting/journalism skills during all 3 days ---23rd-25th of July on Twitch. Well when you get older maybe one day you can be a journalist too! It is never too early to begin, just get a camera, a microphone, or a pad of paper and go talk to people! You ever seen Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan? Anyway thank you for these incredibly kind words and support. Have a great week and hope to see you around the channel again sometime! or at the Con!

      @@NathanASMR I have always been a very political person so being able to understand the political underpinnings behind journalism (not that all journalism is political but a sizeable portion is) is something that interests me immensely. I have actually seen Andrew Callaghan's show and despite how funny it is I recognize it as an important component of recognizing the behaviors of different groups of people. On the ground journalism does seem extremely easy to do and with that, being informative. To be honest, I have never though of myself as being a journalist but with how simple it truly is it seems as if I can make an effort to be one :)

      Hahah thank you Rudy! I am glad to see it too. There is always a couple dislikes on every video, I guess that is the inevitable part of making videos and putting it out there to the public. I'm sure eventually it will change but for now, I'm so glad this did well because I truly have a passion and love for this region of the world because I lived there for two years. I was really hoping it would come through in the video. Hope you are enjoying your Sunday Rudy!

    I watch asmr to fall asleep, so I’m sorry if you answered this question in your video, but why did you live in Zimbabwe?

    • @NathanASMR
      @NathanASMR  3 роки тому +1

      Hey there Diehard and firstly thank you for the comment and for watching my video. Dont worry, I did not say the reason I lived in Zimbabwe in the video so you did not miss it. I lived in Zimbabwe working for a non profit and working for my other job in the media as well. I dont want to give out too many other details but basically the non profit was a center for orphaned children with HIV and I was in charge of day to day on the ground operations as I was there. There is more to the story but thats a good chunk of it. Anyway thanks again for the nice question and have a great day!

      Yeah such a sad story. The people who live there are so respectful of the wildlife and often their names are related to the animals that live there. Lion is actually a very common last name there. Hwange is very highly unregulated compared to national parks that you might be used to. Pretty much anything goes and unfortunately the economic situation in Zimbabwe is a bit dire so they charge foreign individuals to come and hunt for game trophy's. Very unfortunate situation!

      Its a fascinating place with a super dynamic history especially in the past century. The country has undergone several name changes and I feel like those changes reflect periods of its history. Thank you for commenting and hope you are enjoying a beautiful Sunday. PS cool Beatles cover as well, very well done.
