My late mum and I met Crossroads stars Jane Rossington, Tony Adams, Edward Clayton, Janet Hargreaves and David Garfield at Birmingham NEC Comicon in 2011. They were all really friendly and a pleasure to meet. Very down to earth. Mum had signed pics of all of them. She was a big fan of Crossroads. I wrote to Noele Gordon in 1983 and we got a signed letter pic and a lovely letter from her. The Crossroads them tune takes me back to my childhood in the late 60s and the 70s.

I used to hear this tune every evening when settling in after school. Although I never really liked the tune, these days it brings back happy memories when my mother was alive, as she was an avid watcher of the show.
R.I.P. Mum. Oh, and the cast of the show who are no longer with us.

The Crossroads Bar was a crappy, tiny thing in the corner of the reception. It only had two chairs. It was like the bars our neighbours had in their front rooms, with a padded front and a glass shelf.

There were at least two versions of the Crossroads Theme with the Tony Hatch Orchestra - this, I think, is the later one. The original (and perhaps better, that's a personal preference) dates from 1964 and is on the reverse side of 'Goodbye', the single made by the cast to mark the show's demise in 1988.
