I love tubing mascaras and cannot go back to "regular" mascara. The loreal one is my favourite drugstore one. But my hg that I've repurchased a million times is the Clinique lash power. I like the Mac one too tho!

For a great drugstore option, try L’Oreal Age Perfect Lash Magnifying Mascara. Make sure you get the EASY TO REMOVE WATERPROOF version. It’s tubing.

I can only wear tubing mascaras. Non-tubing mascaras always smudge on me even if they don't on anyone else. My ride or die right now is the Victoria Beckham. It gives me a perfectly natural lash look, which is my goal. I do like the Rare Beauty tubing mascara. I got a mini to try out after hearing good reviews. I really like it, but the brush is huge and I don't like that. It is a great mascara though.

The first tubing mascara I ever heard of was from the brand Blinc. Brand also made a great eyebrow mousse. Sephora used to carry the brand.
Hourglass makes a good tubing mascara. It’s called Unlocked. I like it.

Mascara is so personal --- e.g. what works for one doesn't always work for others. I"ve used the L'Oral Double Extend for years but do wish it gave a bit more volume. When I want more volume, I use Cover Girl Super Stay waterproof as a primer then the L'Oreal over that, to help get rid of the end of the day raccoon eyes. Helps with the wear of the non-tubing mascara. I"ve tried Thrive and I know so many people love it but it flakes on me, horribly. I ended up tossing it after a while. Looking to try some others!

I was so curious to see your feelings on the tubers you have...
*My #1 is the Victoria Beckham. That mascara is the bomb! (And, I think it looked the best on you.)* My #2 is Surratt. It gives a slightly lighter/fluffy and longer (fibers) look. The only drawback is on occasion you might see a loose fiber, but they are easy enough to swipe off. Kevin Aucoin is good, but I find the product doesn't last long (dries out). I've tried a few others: Hourglass (hated it), Blinc (liked, but it's been a while, I want to revisit), Caliray (OK, but hard to remove), Maybelline Snapscara (meh).
I want to try: L'Oreal Age Perfect (apparently hard to find), Merit, No.7, and DHC (which I think I might have tried eons ago, but I'm not sure) .

I also don't seem to be able to remove it all, so my eyes just always appear darker & tired & I've probably not worn mascara for over 10 years which I know sounds crazy. But, as I'm entering my second youth (my slightly later mid-life-crisis) I'd actually like to start wearing it again & hopefully as I've missed out years of new developments, I am here for newer formulas that might not be so difficult to wear. Good God. I have never heard of, "tubing" mascara until now. I have been out of commission for awhile, and thought a new type of mascara had just been invented. I am shocked this is new to me because mascara has always been a struggle, except for a brief period of time I was on glaucoma drops until surgery. I finally thought I figured it out...one layer of Milk's Kush Primer (very heavy duty stuff) which does most of the work, and recently the MAC Stack on top and Maybelline's Sky High on lower lashes because that brush is perfect for mine. I do not want hugely thick/long lashes and like a more natural look. I liked the VB on you the most but, Surratt is a very close second. I do remember trying L'oreal's with the Primer and it did nothing for me. I seriously need to try tubing mascara. The brush looks ideal for getting at the lash roots. Thank you so much for explaining the difference.

Very buildable lovely mascara and a less stark shade than black. Max Factor False Lash Effect is excellent in shade black/ brown too. It really separates the lashes for a feathery finish. I use a ×4 little round magnifying mirror now to apply my mascara, you can really see each lash to seperate...

Dear fellow hooded lid gal, thank you for such a helpful video!
I've also discovered tubing mascaras thanks to Lisa Eldridge. DHC was the first one I've tried. Unfortunately, it smudged on me (not as much as regular mascaras, but the smudging was definitely there). Then I've tried the Kevyn Aucoin ones (Volume and Curl), but both flaked horribly. The Hourglass Unlocked is the one I've been using pretty much since it launched. It doesn't smudge, it flakes a bit, but the least out of all the ones I've tried.

Always interesting, Kiki! Cover Girl Professional Mascara had a curved wand and that was my go to product for years. I am lucky, my parents passed down their naturally long, curled lashes but they are light on the ends. I don’t wear waterproof, or a primer and avoid overly wet goopy formulas. One coat is my preference for a soft natural look as well. Multiple coats make them look fake. My lash goal is to not make one of my blessed features look fake. I haven’t tried tubing formulas. L’Oréal mascara options are a plenty and currently enjoy Telescopic because the wand grabs every lash and there is no clumping. I don’t think I am interested in the L’Oréal Double Extend as I don’t want to mess with primer. Too many steps. Lol.

I always struggled with mascara. I tried so many different ones for years, from Maybelline to Elizabeth Arden and everything in between and I can honestly say none of them really worked for me. A couple of years ago I discovered a Japanese brand called Kissme Heroine (unusual name) and it was like a revelation. It is bulletproof and does not clump. It does require a lot of effort to get it off, but I can live with that!

I was tempted to try that one. I’ll have to soon.
They make a remover that I’ve heard is good (especially for their mascara). It’s in a tube and applies like mascara.

I'm lucky that I have long eyelashes to begin with but I hate a mascara that takes forever to remove at the end of the day.

I love this video! I am all about tubing mascara! I use only the Giga for my lower lashes regardless of what's on the top. That small wand is perfect for lower lashes!

I do too. I think they look fuller and softer than the others! But it's so subjective - glad you agree with me!

Thanks so much for doing this. I have to wear tubing mascara as I have very sensitive eyes and Meibomian glands dysfunction - which means I can't tightline or have any mascara left on my eyelids which would exacerbate the condition. I reach for tubing because I can easily get if all off. I have been using Thrive for a while but have recently been looking for more options and didn't realize all of these existed. I will be checking this out and thinkt he VB and Surratt were clear winners on you!

Same! It is so bad to tightline if you have sensitive eyes. My eye doctor said that is a big no-no as it can block the oil glands and therefore cause dry eye or even styes. Not worth it. I will have to try some of these. The only one I have is MAC Gigablack and I only wear it on the bottom lashes.

I feel that you would enjoy the L'Oréal balm noir...I use it with the lash food primer....it's a little on the drier side but really makes your lashes look awesome...but in a better than natural manner....it isn't gloopy at all... it isn't tubing but it behaves similar...it's very easy to remove...it's a soft separated look..

None of them smudge. They all perform the same in my experience. It's really about the look in this video. Which look might suit your lash goals.
