maybe an important step i didn't pick up, but the usb setting needs to be switched to the sd2vita by clicking triangle in vitashell and finding the correct menu option

I can't get the files to be shown, the options when I hit triangle in Vitashell I get this options:

Mount: uxmc0:
and none of this work or do anything, I get cero files on the my pc when the Vita is plugged in.

Glad it was helpful! Other than the slow copy-over times, it's a really easy process that adds a lot of value to the Vita.
I downloaded RetroArch Nightly through VitaDB. Do I basically just skip most of the video and just transfer folders with roms directly to my microSD? And then do the set up in RetroArch on my Vita?

Just a bit of caution, make sure the ROM you want to play is executed by the proper module within Retro Arch. I was feeling experimental one day and tried to run an NES rom through the Sega module and Retro Arch could not get around that set of instructions and stopped working. I'm not even sure how I fixed the problem but I will never drop a ROM into a module that isn't coded to execute that file.

@@kidnickles101 basically use roms with the proper modules/cores, For example don't play a NES rom with the Atari module
Get the isos from a preferred website use one menu to extract the iso files, then drop them in the retroarch iso folder you created and boom simple as that you have your games ready in no time, this is completely possible without a pc

Emulation of SNES games is hit and miss, some work fine, some are terrible.
Try other cores (also the chimera SNES one, that must be installed separately)
@@occhiomanocchio See, this is why I don't like retroarch and don't understand why so many people like it. You shouldn't have to switch to different SNES cores depending on the game. That's why I prefer the P emulators like PSNES, PGen etc.
It took me 6 to 7 hrs to download RetroArch today overnight from 5 or 6 am till' 12 pm while falling asleep 🤔🫢😭
@@caesarjulius6058 I play few games, and once you set a core for a game the setting remains stored in memory. So it's not a big issue for me
There is another program called Pnes and Psnes , I think that there you can play some games that have a especial chip , maybe this could be an option .

So how do you download the retro games and where to find them?
im so confused, it doesnt pop up on my system. is it because my psvita is a Japanese vita and the us versions are different? i followed all of the steps but when it comes to my psvita connecting to my computer, and transferring files it just refuses to work. is there a way to do this through the vita instead?

Just wanted to ask, at the 'download assets etc', I followed the step, but the 'extracting zip' notification hasn't gone away. It's been about 30 minutes. everything is still functional, don't know why this won't go away though. Kinda scared to exit to home, due to it seemingly still extracting.
*edit* Just in case anyone else is wondering, it is fine to exit, in fact I suggest it, and just manually extract each of the the folders on the computer instead.

you mean to unzip the downloaded file? my mac had a native decompressor "archive...." something or other. the name wasnt important but all i had to do was double click the file and the accessory did it on its own. let it do its thing and the file will show up in the same folder (overlapped if you have it set to icons)
when i go to directory and select system/bios i dont get storage choices why? i cant load any of the games

I've got my PS Vita just where I want it (!), so I would like some advice on software or logistics to doing a full back-up of installed 'programmes' if I have a need to a full installation at a later date. Any suggestions? (Mirror image transfer? software specific upload? PC link backup? Other?)

Great video, very helpful, but In my case when I scanned roms it took forever, it ran for 8hrs didn't finish. I had to go and select less roms.

You can do this entire process through the vita itself now i think even download roms on better browser download
So I gave retroarch download but I have no games because it’s so confusing that no one will show how to download the games and make the files for them etc so how do I get games for the vita itself if I already have retroarch please I would love it if you could help
i can only access the initial internal storage of my psvita 2000. i cannot see the sd2v storage when i connect vita to my PC. Pls help
I was able to download this as an app directly on the vita. Does that mean I can skip all the setup stuff? It took ages to install but was all automatic.

well, when I copy pasted the files to the ps vita storage it just wiped my entire ps vita, so now I can't use any app other than settings.

Is it true you cannot copy data from retro arch gaming on a windows laptop to retro arch installed on a Chromebook or tablet? Is it also true you can play retro arch emulator offline as long as you saved the data while online? Same for multiplaying? Can it handle major games like Minecraft and GTA? Also install mods on some games?
So if we use a Mac book what would you recommend because after typing in zip ware the requirements are all windows

@@designerebethe1 Well, what I did created two folders, one with the name SYSTEM and the other GAMES on my computer, then I downloaded the games and put them in the GAMES folder. Then I copied those two folders to the memory card, then I disconnected the PS Vita from the computer. and I did what the video says and it worked even though the SYSTEM folder is empty, but what happens to me it does not show all the games that I copied, I copied 64 SNES but it only shows 44 games 🤷🏻♂️
What are the most stable ways to emulate on vita, for all consoles
The only issue I have with retroarch is that not all games appear and others appear duplicated. Any suggestion on how to solve it? Thanks for the help in advance.

Or a simply search would suffice. If you can't search up how to jailbreak a vita on UA-cam I honestly feel you shouldn't attempt do it.

If the downloading the thumbnails for each game "severely impacts the performance" like it warns, why would anyone enable that? Does this mean that it impacts the emulation performance, or the menu while browsing the roms performance?

can anyone tell me if I create a folder with all the rooms mixed within - but then create a "Bios" folder with the Bios also all copy and pasted within will Retroarch be able to decipher the mixed bios to then link them to the respective game?
hi I got some issues with RetroArch, after I install every time I open all letters are question marks . I did change language to uk/us still doesn't work,and I tried to download and dawload again still same issues 😢what should I do 😅😅😅

Whenever I try and run a PS1 ROM on RetroArch I get this error message “C2-12828-1” when I boot the game up.
I think it’s something to do with the BIOS but I’m not smart enough to figure it out. Any ideas?

Yes, it'll work fine. The Vita really gets a shot in the arm from being able to play so many great retro games.

Retroarch is cool, except when SD2Vita flips out and starts deleting everything and you have a full microSD of nothing and have to delete and format everything haha.
