Hey man. Thank you for leveling the playing field for the entire community. Rather than just a select few people knowing the code enabling those with low integrity to take advantage of us, we all know now. That's how you help stop people from getting taken for a ride. That's how we look out for each other in a hobby that's kind of in a weird tailspin of terrible credibility right now.

I was thinking about hat today. It would be cool if the breakers would show the upc of every product before they ripped so the viewers could track any anomolies and we could protect ourselves as a community better. I wouldn’t let people pick through the boxes to find their hits but I’d show the codes when I was ripping a new box for my content,imo.
Use the info while you can cause Panini loses the NBA and NFL to fanatics in 2025. Thank God. The amount of horror stories with Panini and redemption is just disgusting.
I wouldnt be surprised if it was done this way so Panini employees could get the good cards for themselves. We already know they don't give a crap about thier customers.

Hitman you are a without a doubt one of the finest breakers out there and one of the most honest! It is a shame you are having to basically now write these products off from your inventory, but you have shown the community that you also will not take advantage of them. The team at @sports card radio are to be commended for bringing this into the light as they have with other subjects. Hate to see how many more products are like this, which I would guess are many.

This is crazy to me how there isnt a class action lawsuit against panini on this, it really makes me think twice about the hobby!

not a lawyer but if serial numbers on boxes can predict hits (this video by itself doesn't necessarily show that), you'd have to prove that that one of these companies knew about it and was able to take advantage of it somehow...seems doubtful that panini itself would benefit from it (unless they intentionally only sold hit boxes to certain people/places)...seems more likely that breakers or LGS's (maybe even panini employees) could have been taking advantage of it and could be held responsible if they were selling/advertising products as unsearched/unknown ones when in fact they knew there wasn't a hit in it...
@nikegolf05 absolutely and obviously it will never be taken to the top level of panini but someone shared the information. Such a company should have better practices as standard business operating procedures. I'm sure you can't track hits on scratch offs? OR CAN YOU?

Every product has a way to tell where the hood stuff is at. Every one of them
I’m sure they have codes to identify hits. If Panini is guaranteeing 1 case hit per case, then they have to know. Otherwise, when boxes get jumbled, they would have no idea of the case has at least 1 case hit. Issue is this info got leaked and unscrupulous employees sold the info to certain people.

My point being, and obviously you weren't paying attention, is that Hitman boldly stepped up and showed the serial(and I don't mean Cocoa Puffs) numbers and explained how to find Kaboom boxes according to the numbers. No one else has done that as far as I know. Props to Hitman for further exposing the issue.

There is. I proved it in 4 seperate instances of color blast pulls out of Obsidian. Spectra, Impeccable, and Obsidian are all proven. Products with big case hits. I would guess Absolute definitely is as well
You're implying these card companies have Quality control? I highly doubt that based on the off centering of many card it's ridiculous they allow some of these cards out to consumers.

That's why the inside of the boxes have numbers as well so if you're missing a hit they can track it. That's why they ask for the box numbers the receipt and the UPC code. This had been going on for years

I saw a break on Whatnot recently where the breaker opened a fresh case, and ripped a personal for a guy. The buyer asked to look at all boxes, and picked one. It had the Kaboom

Hey brother, I wanted to come back and say that the character move is much appreciated here. It seems that other breakers are trying to move their Crown boxes at the moment. When I asked a breaker the other day in chat if boxes up for sale were kaboom boxes or not, he tried to attack me in response for being "that guy," and refused to show the serial #'s. Once again, thanks for being the better man.

Funny, the first big hit(Jordan) tactic in the late 80s with retail Upper Deck/Skybox/Fleer packs was to pick the first two packs out the top left and bottom right corners out of a 24 or 36 pack box. And it worked if you got to Walmart,Kmart or Target earlier enough. I brought four boxes of Donruss 2014-15 basketball 36 pack box when it was still $40. Used the same technique and the rookie and stars hits were in their spots

A guy who I met at Dave and adams in Buffalo showed me numbers on products all the way back in 2013-2015. Two workers there were friends with him. Those two no longer work there. This has been going on. It’s not just one product.

@@heyyouguys795 they tend to over charge on product, like when score came out this year, it's was 150$ at cost, most online stores had it at 150 to 175 ish, they had it in store at 275$!
Before covid hit, they almost never had retail and if they did it was always the previous years stuff! After covid hit they had an overstock of current retail! I remember when 2020 prizm hit, they had it in stores the same day our walmart was stocked!
Not to mention they price there singes WAAAYYY to high! They have josh allen 2021 prizm base cards for 10$, devin Singletary donruss base at 5$!
Imo they are what's wrong with the hobby, they financially take advantage of mom's and dads who's kids started collecting during the pandemic! I only go there for supplies, and I even stopped that recently because I'd rather give my money to a local shop then them!
I remember selling them a few cards once, I sold them a ed oliver Rookie Auto among a few other, he said I can give you $10, and that they would only sell it for 20$, I came back the next day to grab penny sleeves, and they had my card on sale for 150$, not to mention I brought them my hole collection in 2019, they offered me 250$ cash or 400$ store credit, they didn't kno i had it appraised the day before for over 2k! They are nothing but a money hungry company!
The said part is, they didn't used to be!
@@steveseiler478 that sucks man but I get it, I just got a case from them of the new select bball, payed 9300 for it and now it’s 6900 lol let alone even before this serial number shit came out I was noticing the serial numbers on the flaps of the hobby boxes and something just didn’t sit right with me, almost like they cracked the case and took some boxes out and replaced them with others. It’s hard to explain but strange.

Of course there is, on every hobby box. When I go to my LCS most guys always want to see multiple boxes and check the serial numbers. I’ve watched countless times dudes call out a kaboom or huge auto and what would ya know, there right every single time!

Easy fix. Put the serial numbers on the inside of the box. The only reason you need a serial number is if you need to get a card replaced.

I went to my local LCS today and asked him about this. He said and I quote "oh yea this has been known by dealers for years". But I am fair to my customers and I do not let them see the sticker number so they can game the system. The only people that ever knew was panini, breakers and LCS's. I asked him how this isn't gaming the system and he said he can't control what other people do but he is fair because he opens all his cases fresh and puts them out without looking at the stickers. He wants his customers to win big he doesn't care about singles and case hits. All in all I was still blown away to find out that this has been KNOWN for a while though...
I'm sure all products have it. A guy at my LCS read the number on a new Select and said it'd have a gold card and an "A" level auto. He then pulled a gold and an Edward's auto.

It’s going on with all the products. It’s the only way they can tell which boxes have case hits. Breakers have just figured out over time the secrets.
Maybe the 109 is the high end hit with top Rookie Auto. Cause that second box was 🔥🔥🔥 that's for your honesty and integrity in the hobby. That's why your one of the best!!

The 10 might indicate rookie rpa or a good box too. There will probably be no boxes containing Kabooms left on the market and their relevant prices will drop as they are now the easiest card to hit.... What the hell was Panini thinking wow
I want to believe that it does not spill over to other products but I doubt it. If I don’t have a chance at the top cards It’s tough to buy in. Like buying the lottery and in the fine print it says “the top prize money will not be available but other prizes will be”
I realize one of them was addressed, and the other is likely even bigger than it looks, but both those aside, which scandal do you find worse: This, or Topps kinda forgetting to put the "big 5" rookies in Chrome?

Finally someone tested it and said the number. Feels like there’s people who won’t say the number so they are the only ones who know. It’s good for everyone to know so that we aren’t getting ripped off but at the same time now this product is ruined and people will only buy it if it has 09 in it or will only sell it if it doesn’t.

The news of this makes me sad, with the hobby in the state that it is already as far as pricing, to be potentially scammed on a searched case is heartbreaking 💔. I need to rethink my future in collecting.
Don't give up, the kaboom is one card it will not make or break the hobby, I would have rather had the Jalen green he pulled anyway. Stick with it
To play devils advocate, to insert a card that falls only so many boxes there has to be a system in place to allow that to happen. They are printing millions of cards across the sports and different product lines so they had to develop a numbering system for how the cards fall. I just don’t think they expected people out there to work out a system to decode it. But with all the breakers out there as a day job someone was bound to Rain Man it out.

They probably don't care anymore because Fanatics pretty much owns it all, some NBA/NBAPA, MLB/MLBPA it's all mixed but once 2026 hits only Fanatic presses will be running

From my experience, most of the card shops are a big scam. They know exactly what box to hide. I’ve seen it happen sadly

Since the "Hits" have to be guaranteed per case, Panini/Fanatics have to have a system to track the hits inside the factory. This just happens to be a method that the public has decoded, so it's best to spread the knowledge far and wide to ensure no one gets defrauded on the secondary market.

I would say though, can we legitimately call it a "Panini scandal" or words to that effect. And not saying you say it Hitman, but we know how pack mentality can be when it comes to scrutiny of the manufacturers.
Just to be devils advocate here (and Panini are far from perfect fwiw). They have to have a way to ensure that cases meet case hit specs. And therefore need a way to identify which boxes have a case hit in. I assume packs and boxes and cases are packed by hand on these higher end products, so at each stage it needs to be identifiable. I feel cases getting no case hits would be just as controversial, so they need to be as close to 100% with case hit distribution.
Far as I can tell, there hasnt been an instance where someone has recieved a loaded case (ie more than 1 case hit). So the scandal part rests with the ppl who will knowingly exploit it (which sadly is probably the hardest thing to manage)
Would you buy from a store that has no boxes with an 09 or 10 hologram? What’s to stop stores from stashing those kaboom boxes and selling the rest? I’m hoping they cover up the hologram with stickers so people can’t just go in and grab the kaboom boxes.
Also if Panini has a system for Crown Royale case Hits they would have it for other lines as well.
It would be interesting to open another 10 box, maybe those have RPA's in them?
Is it any wonder people are looking for an edge when purchasing these boxes. Not sure what they retail for in the US, but saw one site in Australia selling a box for just shy of $800. $800 for 8 cards is rip off.

didnt you pull a cade RPA out of a NC059610 box before? while 09 might have the kaboom, perhaps 10 has the RPA
