  • Not a bad little machine if the voltage is set correctly, and you know its quirks and foibles.

I really appreciate you making this video, I bought one of these machines from the original owner a couple months ago, I got it services but had no idea how to thread or operate it correctly. Thank you

Thanks for explaining about adjusting and putting on the bobbin. Again, wish you were my neighbor. I need advice on the sewing machines I have.

Agree on most of it - although the price for the bobbin case seems a bit exaggerated - that's the run of the mill Pfaff 6mm case as used by Pfaff for dozens of machines over almost 50 years. That's 15 Euros from most sewing shops. As Pfaff has keept them compatible, the newer 9mm ones will also work. If you can find the 297-1 -> that one adds the "elastic" stitches like tripple zigzag.

I’m pretty sure I said that’s the price of a genuine, original, made in Germany, Pfaff bobbin case. That’s certainly what I meant, if I wasn’t clear.
There are cheap knockoffs of just about every sewing machine part you can look for.
      Lesser quality equals lesser price.
I prefer the genuine original parts.

@@randyyoursewingmachineman9954 The US distributor must really have a nice margin. Even the "creative" embroidery bobbin case for extra thick thread -- genuine Pfaff -- is just 35Eur here in Germany. And yes, 15Eur are genuine Pfaff cases from reputable vendors.

Hey Randy, have you done a video on your backstory yet? How did you get into this work? Do you know how to sew? Do you have someone you are training to pass all of this knowledge on to? etc.

No video on my backstory. I do drop snippets of info from time to time when I decide it’s appropriate to make a point.
I tried on multiple occasions lately to “sponsor” and place a couple folks on a guaranteed path of success.
Let’s just say, it didn’t work out.
There are a couple success stories about a couple fine fellows who used to work with me who went on to be successful on their own.
That was an organic process that worked out well.
That was also thirty years ago.
The business hasn’t changed all that much.
      The prospective work force has.
My business model is solely my wife and me. She’s brilliant and a solid asset, and has been for 44 years. She’s an accomplished seamstress and designer. She’s 80 times smarter than me and keeps me focused on what’s important, helping people.
We make that our first concern, and everything else works out well.
No accidents or luck, just God’s purpose for us.
I have always had a twenty year plan. I still have it today. Perpetual optimism combined with God’s grace is my business model.👍😎

You say Toledo, I say Too Lee do. I’ll have to be prepared for the cold next time. I guess I was in too big of a hurry.
Today was the coldest of the last four. Tomorrow we finally get above freezing. It’s hard to believe that last August when it was 105, I was actually looking forward to cooler weather.
      Well, here it is mister.
      Enjoy!
      Sheesh.👍😎
