- Just don’t pull on the thread, and slowly unwrap it by turning the hand wheel away from you.
Be patient and realize that it’s a long and tedious process.
Don’t disassemble anything, or you’ll wish you hadn’t.
Thank you. I'll know what to do if it ever happens.

I have several vintage Pfaff machines, as well as the 7570, and like anything vintage, if care is taken, they outperform and out live us all. If a machine is treated like a rental, it will end up in a landfill.
@@janshipman1291 wise observation. I agree. 😎👍🏼
Eh! What did you say? Lol 😂
ATTENTION!!!! If you're looking for a REAL sewing machine, Kenmore 158-1941, or any Kenmore 158 series. Old fashioned, all metal, excellent performance, minimal issues.
Quick question for you!! I just got a Pfaff Hobby 1142 for $80 Canadian ($50 US) so seemed like a deal. The thread kept getting jammed in the bobbin case, so I took it apart and dusted and oiled. Got it working, and it sews nice, but now there is this awful grinding noise. Any ideas? ua-cam.com/users/shortskXMcpBq6Opk?si=JRE1eo3c2CjCen2N
(I also just want to add that you are a complete inspiration to me. I’ve wanted to get into sewing machine repair for years, but recently have started getting some thrift store finds to practice on. Thank you so much for these vids.)
@@montyollie it sounds like it’s coming from the motor area.
Maybe the motor drive belt is loose.
If your belt is the grooved type, it will make a grinding sound if it’s loose.
A lotta plastic inside that thing...
@@JohnBau its a newer machine.
The plastic and electronics are typical of whats on the market these days.
For the folks who don’t have the ability to find a classic, all metal machine, they end up with these.
