An underrated gem
The original get carter from 1971 is a masterpiece of gritty realism, it’s a very gritty and realistic revenge film that is very atmospheric when it comes to its overall look of the film and the setting of post industrial city of newcastle which really adds to the films realism of the whole class structure and also the way the criminals are portrayed is very realistic, because even though they are actors they honestly don’t feel like actors they feel like real criminals that’s how realistic the film’s portrayal is of the criminal underworld in Newcastle.

i remember i went to see this when it came out but i aint like it but i watched it again i enjoyed it more.
I found Stallone to be incredibly dull here, not nearly as tough and hard-edged as Michael Caine in the classic original.
To each their own. I didn't find Stallone dull at all in this.
@OcpCommunications Really??? You don't find the way Stallone delivered the line "My name is Jack Carter, and you don't wanna know me" seriously lacking the edge and toughness that Michael Caine gave in his delivery of that same line in the 70s original? Whatever.
