What up guys? Hope you are all doing good!✌
Lol... Oh. Didn't see description prior to commenting; hope all is well with you too!
@@randomchargingplug1616 It's cool we all do it haha.
I can’t decide between this one or the KLC😩😕
Please help!!! Which one is better?
I have a 36 gallon planted aquarium
Most of my plants require medium to low light
What kind of settings do you have it at
That light is so thin, it really blends in with the tank. The shimmer looks great. The only thing I don't like is no manual operation. I lose the remote to the TV regularly, but I can walk up to the TV and push buttons, lose the remote to this light and I'd be in a world of hurt, 😂
👍💕👍
Haha yeah I would like to see and app for it instead but I still think it's an epic light. Thank you so much for watching! ✌🙂🙏🙏🙏
Good tip on cutting the outside leaves. Putting it on my minds list.
Haha glad I could help! Thank you so much for watching! ✌🙂
Channel will be your full time job this time next year if u continue this pace ... congrats!
That is my overall goal because I hate my job. hate hate hate it. lol
Yeeeessssss! 💓
@@ThePlantedTankTV you're a natural keep it up
@@shaun4245 Thank you! 🙂🙂🙂🙏🙏
@@ThePlantedTankTV What is your job, what sort of work?
That tank is looking fantastic. The light has a really nice shimmer too. I put the Oase canister on my tank a couple of weeks ago and the glass pipes will be in today for my 10 gallon.
Evil Genius nice! I love my past filter! Thank you for watching ✌️🙂🌱✅
The new Led really looks awesome, an elegant piece of the tank. 😍
I'm really liking it! The spectrum you can make are epic! Thank you so much man! ✌🙂🙏🙏🙏
cracking scape and the shimmer from that fixture is sweeeeeet!!! great update as always bro
Thanks brother! I love the shimmer it gives off. Not to much not to little! Thanks for the support man! ✌🙂
Tank & light looks great mate👍🏻🌱🐟
Cichlidscape • thanks bro! 🥰 😂
I am loving everything about his whole set-up! Sweet light...love the aqua-scape...love the size of the tank too. Keep the videos coming!
Love this light. And the tank plus scape is awesome. Keep it going!
This scape will run for a good while! Thank you so much I appreciate it! ✌🙂
Light looks good. Love the shimmer. If you are getting the Anubias to grow like that its pretty good.
Yeah the anubias is going nuts I might have to trim some back if it keeps growing at this rate. Thank you so much! The shimmer is really nice I noticed that right away! ✌🙂🙏🙏🙏
The Planted Tank What ferts did you say you are using?
@@madfishdiva I use NilocG Thrive All In One. Been using it for about a year now and I love it!
Can you please do a review of the Finnex ALC? It's like nobody does light reviews anymore.
Beautiful tank
Marcie SoCal thank you so much! ✌️🙂🙏🌱✅
Nice! Been wondering about this light. Looks awesome 👍
Kevin Rosenberg I’ve been very curious my self and I definitely like it a lot! Good to see you bro! ✌️🙂🙏🙏🙏
Thanks........... great video. Love your tanks.
Thank you! Love your support! 🙏🙏
Very interesting video and fish.
Thank you so much! ✌🙂🙏
Good to see the channel is going well , I think I subscribed when you had about 20 subs haha keep it up mate
That's awesome man thank you so much! ✌🙂
Good looking light dude!
Otter Creek Aquatics I’m really diggin it! Thanks for watching brother! ✌️🙂
The Sunsun filter was one of my considerations. Also looking at zoomed nano 10
Hi, like the light. And the design. Could you do an update video regarding the light?
An update maybe after weeks of using.
zoejehuty yeah I don’t really have any complaints with it to be honest. Really liking it so far. I will do an update to see how my plants like it. I don’t see any issues with it growing plants though. ✌️🙂
Very nice bro! It’s so sleek!👌
hey, nice work! I really like your vids. Could you list your plants again? The ones on this setup? And do you think you could make another vid with suggestions of easy plants for beginners? Let's keep it planted!
Just bought the 48" through your affiliate link, thanks for your imput!
I hope you get yours. I ordered a HLC-20A and I liked it so much I bought a 48" and it never made it past Swedesboro, NJ. They offered me a refund or a replacement and I chose the replacement and the new one seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth after reaching Swedesboro. I love the light but I am beyond pissed at Amazon at this point.
@@jayrowe6473 That sux Jay, sorry to hear about the hassle!
@@BorkPlays It actually came the other day and I love it! I wanted to come back and update this but I couldn't find it until you responded to my comment, so thank you for that!
Tank is looking great. Jealous of your light. Hehe. The Repens looks really strong, really dense. It's obviously loving it in there. Are you tempted to put that new light on a tank with more demanding plants now though? Keep up the videos. Thanks for sharing. :)
I might be adding some low light stem plants soon when I do a trim soon! Thank you so much for watching✌🙂
I'm so excited when u post videos lol
Haha that's awesome thank you! I love you guys! ✌🙂🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful gravel. Is that 'amber' river gravel?
I totally laughed when he said if you dislike this video hit the dislike so I went down and liked it and only saw 3 dislikes like what!!! That was hilarious should be no dislikes
I think Fluval still has them beat. They are waterproof, no remote, and just as customizable. I like the stingrays but for most tanks i run the nano or 3.0
Beautiful tank!
Yeah but they don’t make near as many sizes. They don’t make a 20” or a 30”. A big company like fluval should be making every size there is. Thank you 🙏
Looks nice 👍 but it produce lot of background water waves
Concentration only gose that 🌊 waves can be reduced that others beautiful thanks
shivaraju 200011 the only reason you can see the shimmer so good is because I have my tank pushed all the way up against the wall. If I pulled it away you wouldn’t see nearly as much shimmer. I love it though I think it looks great! Thank you so much for watching! ✌️🙂
Its the shimmering efffect from the light? Nice set up. Love your tanks. Keep it up.
Yes this light does give off a little bit of shimmer. Thanks for the love! ✌🙂🙏
@@ThePlantedTankTV Thanks
@@ThePlantedTankTV I have a clear mini 10 should I go with the finnex or the curremt + pro.
Cool! I’m just about to buy a new light for my 29 gallon... have you ever try the Mingdak lights? I saw the 30 inch model and is about 22W but idk how good or bad they are... greetings from Guatemala
I can't really say since I've never had one my self or heard anyone talk about them. I'm sure it would be fine for a nice budget option though! ✌🙂
How do you set up the light to run at 50%
Awesome light man. Are you dosing 1ml daily?
Yep daily! ✌🙂🙏
I just bought one for my 10g. It would be nice if you could make an update video on the light. How well it worked for you.
I just made a video showcasing it the other day. It's a great light man!
The Planted Tank thanks man . Keep up the good work!
Are the legs adjustable? Would it work on a 18 inch tank(like the lifeguard aquatic crystal 9.6gallon)? I couldn't find any adjustment info on Finnex website.
apolloblue21 yeah the legs move all the way in and out just like all of their previous models! ✌️🙂🙏🙏
What settings/schedule are you using? I’d like to run mine at 50% as well but I still like the 24/7 schedule.
I’d also like to know 😂
Hey Jay, can you tell me if this light is 110-240v, please. Thanks.
dennis it says on the box it’s AC110V~240V ✌️🙂
Great video! Would you know if the braces/legs holding the lights are reversible?
What tank brand is that bro? I currently have a fluval flex 15g w/ modified lid -- Currently want a rimless that is at good price point.
Description man! lol
Hi when you said you are running it at 50%. Is it all the colors or just the white ones? Just got that light and same tank so I'm trying to figure out the settings you are using. Thanks.
Yep 50% on all colors! ✌🙂
I own two HLC's and it is insane how bright these lights are and this whole time I thought Nicrew sold bright lights. I also previously read an article on the 20 inch HLC which someone used a Seneye meter on and the meter measured at least 126 par at a depth of 9.5 inches over substrate at full brightness
What type of customization are you using
How do you customize the light
Which light would you recommend based on your experience with these two to Finnex lights so far? HLC or CC? I see that the CC is $30 more is it worth the extra money? Love your videos and the information you give! I've been watching your videos since about when you started, it's been fun seeing your channel grow!
Yeah it is crazy to see it grow. The cc is a stronger light. Has a lot more leds for the same length. I think the HTC is more for low tech tanks. They are still very bright but on deeper tanks they just wont do the job. Thank you so much!
@@ThePlantedTankTV thanks a lot man! I really appreciate you getting back to me. Keep on making great videos and Merry Christmas!
which finnex size is the led light the 20" , 24"?
Jay, I hate to bother you but I just had a question. Could you tell me the equipment needed to set up a C02 system. I have a 15-gallon tank with a 7500k light and am attempting to grow a carpet of dwarf hairgrass. Thank you.
For a tank that size I highly recommend a AQUATEK CO2 Regulator Mini with Integrated Solenoid for Paintball Tank. Mine is still going strong on the first co2 tank been almost 3 months.
so for the list you'll need some co2 proof tubing which buceplant.com/ sells and is awesome. You'll also need a check valve for co2 not air. I like the Aquario Neo diffusers they sel those on amazon. and a aqutek co2 bubble counter and finally a timer! That should be all you need. Not too expensive but not cheap either! ✌🙂🙏🙏
The Planted Tank how much would the entire system cost?
@@crankedshaft43 Let me do some math real quick! lol
The Planted Tank hahahaha appreciate it brother🤝🤜🤛❤️
@@crankedshaft43 so for everything it will be around 240 not including tax for all that. So like I said not expensive but not cheap either!
Is this one better than the Asta 20? Im trying to decide which one to use on my 10 gallon
CafeSinLeche I personally like this light a lot more than the asta 20 for sure.
@@ThePlantedTankTV Oh ok and what about led durability? I saw that both the current usa and finex lights have durability problems... Rn I just have a cheap hood light that sucks so Im looking for the best light for my money. And this one looks amazing
Yes this one is brighter and overall better than the asta 20 and cost more. If you just growing anything under medium demand plants getting this is meaningless unless you got money to blow through and don’t care. Or you like all those setting and features. Any cheap lights brand , like nicrew , aquaneat or beamswork can grow all low light - medium especially a 10 gallon tank cause its kinda of shallow so light penetrate down more.
Overall if money is not a problem and you want higher demand plants with co2 i would go with :
Fluval 3.0, finnex 24/7 any of their versions, current satellite etccc
what size light did you get for your 10 gal ? i have a 24 inch 24/7 i got gifted and looking at getting a rimless waterbox
This video was made 6 months ago. Can you tell us how well it’s doing? How’s the plant growth? Algae? Quality?
Dang it really has been 6 months already holy crap haha. Yeah it's a fantastic light man great quality didn't have any issue what so ever growing plants. No issues at all. Plus it just looks amazing.
Right thanks for the reply. Just bought a 36”, hope it does good for me as well. Is there any recommendations that you would suggest as far as turning up or down certain levels?
I planted some HC and S. Repens. It’s going to be mostly medium to high light plants. I also have CO2
This or the hygger auto timer?
I really like this one but I’m sure they both work equally good
I cant figure out the best rgb ratios for this for my 10 gallon. Can you recommend some rgb ratio?
Would you recommend this light for a low tech tank over the Planted+ CRV version (seeing as how you have both)? I scooped up one of those 30 gallon rimless Aqueons before things got crazy and am thinking the HLC would look slick on it. Am going to fill it up with Java Vern, Anubias Nana, Cryptocoryne wendtii, Valisneria Spiralis, moss (Java or Xmas) and perhaps some Bolbitis. Am thinking that since all are low light plants, I should be good to go with the HLC, no? Just curious if there’s a reason I should spring for the CRV instead. Really appreciate any insight you can provide. Oh, and I’ll be running an Eheim Classic 350 canister filter, if that helps. Keep up the great work!
Found a great resource for my question here: spec-tanks.com/finnex-planted-24-7-hlc-aquarium-light-review/
I doubt there's a big difference but have you done a test with the Finnex planted+ 24/7 fixtures side by side, one with the 660nm deep red LED's and one model without to see a difference in plant growth rate?
Looking to do a 90gal planted community tank. I’m looking at Coralife,Current USA or Finnex. Thoughts? Thanks
Your best option budget wise would be finnex. ✌🙂
i like the features of the light, and the price. i dont know if i like how much it shimmers though haha. does it shimmer more than other led lighting or is it just the room lighting accentuating the shimmer?
This one shows so much of the shimmering because it is right up against the wall.
So if you were going to use the 24/7 mode, when one turn their co2 on and off??
How does it compare to the current usa lights you normally use?
Can you tell me which aquarium tank this is?
Will this grow pearlweed in a 20 gallon tall?
Does your sun sun canister filter vibrate with the intensity of a california earthquake?
How did you set it to 50 percent? Ijust got the light but at max mode it’s way too strong on my 20 long.
Tank I'm doing will be similar look except for size and driftwood, and maybe some red plants. Looking at this fixture for 24" deep tank though. Anyone using it at this depth for high light plants?
I would get two man. ✌🙂
@@ThePlantedTankTV they make them in the right length. I'm just not sure about penetration. All my vivarium stuff has lenses to push the light to the bottom. It doesn't look like aquarium lighting comes that way.
@@ThePlantedTankTV it is an interesting thought. Likely it won't be my entire tank that needs high light. I could possibly buy a 24-inch in the future for just that one side of the tank since it's a glass hood.
What does hlc mean??
Would anyone recommend this for a 29 gallon there around 18 inches deep if I recall correctly
Bloods in the front crips in the back i cn dig it 😂
You are a very good aquascaper I just subscribed and I’m excited for your upcoming videos I also have a UA-cam channel come check it out if you’re interested
Thanks! I appreciate it man! ✌🙂🙏🙏🙏
Measuring the light by wattage is so last year
It is still one of the best methods to use if you are a beginner. Obviously it isn't the most accurate way. Anyone with common since know that. It's just a good place to start and work around from there.
@@ThePlantedTankTV wattage is used to specify the rate at which electrical energy is dissipated. Basically how much energy is being used to power the light. Youre statement may apply when using florescent bulbs or the tube lighting.. wattage per gl is an old way of offering a beginner the information they need and isn't very accurate. When using l.e.d. a better advice would be to focus on par. Wouldnt you agree with all your "common sense" that par is a more accurate form of measurement when dealing with led? Ijs
