- I've been in this business since 2019, At that time I was using a regular bicycle and believe me when I say this I use to make more profit on a regular bike back in 2020 than I do now using high powered electric bikes. Will it ever be the same again?

Would not shock me if it was dying, getting delivery is mind blowingly expensive now a days, so I'd rather just spend the 15 minutes to walk down the street.

It’s the same thing worldwide. Inflation is stopping people from ordering and people are losing their jobs or realise the cost of living is so high now, they need a second job to supplement themselves so riders are basically 'fighting' for orders nowadays

No one wants to pay the ridiculous delivery/service fees from these apps. The service fee, delivery fee, taxes and tips you'll be spending 50$ on a 20$ meal it makes no sense. These apps are destroying themselves
agreed lmao. I miss when companies had their own drivers. You used to be able to get free delivery or super cheap delivery for like $2-3. I just go get my food now. It's not worth it.

I'm in Spring Hill, FL and I just rode to the park in back (5 miles), and its 54 deg. omg, that doesn't sound that cold but on an e-bike doing 28mph with only a sweater it's freakin cold!
I work for a restaurant. We get an hourly salary even if there are no deliveries at all during that hour. 9 hour shifts. Less independence and always going back to the same restaurant is a bit annoying but it's more secure. Plus I'm swimming in cash from tips

Yep , delivery fees plus tips have kept me from pizza delivery for years now , it's just 1.5 miles away - 5 min drive saves 10 bucks . Easy choice , also if there is fee I feel shouldn't be tipping ....but its expected and part of drivers pay...

It's not dying. People want to order food, sadly they can't afford to so they're cooking at home. Second, I started cooking solidly at home when COVID started in 2020 and liked it so much, I haven't ordered since..

When you do doordahsh, do you select the bike setting or the car setting? Do you know have any differences it has? I know that when I select bike mode, it changes to no deliveries being avlaible. Also do you buy your bikes or is like sponcer or free test thing?
Yeah, you're right 56 degree is good riding weather. Now try doing deliveries when it 30 degrees and the wind is whipping. You got it good. But anyway food delivery is kinda dying down, I'm know doing maybe 5-6 pickups doing the lunch hour when I used to do 10-12 the same period

It's insame how much you can earn by delivering in US. I work as a deliverer in Finland, Kaarina and yesterday I was waiting for an order for 2 hours earn only 4,50 €. I heard about the guy who earn 8k€ per month in the center of Helsinki, but Wolt doesnt open me another location and I spend 30 minutes to get to the town where I work and I have 2-3 orders an hour usually, but sometimes only I'm waiting for a long time
In UK the minimum drop free is £2.90 in my area. This normal over a mile to the customer address.

I do uber deliveries on bike and it's gonna be -4°C (25°F) -6°C (21°F) in the next coming days with snow. It's so cold when you drive on bike
btw uber deliveries is getting horrible here in montreal. Even with less drivers due to cold the work is still not busy. I think it's just because people don't have as much money as before so they don't order food on uber or doordash

yes DoorDash has been super dead for me I'll be out for like 5 hours and not a single order. Luckily I also do Uber Eats and it's very good in the area I deliver. Multi app people!!

I think because 2020 was the Pandemic Year, no one wanted to eat in restaurants and everyone was doing Contactless delivery to takeout food at home.. Now that the pandemic is over people are doing less takeout deliveries... just my thought.
bro, its like 15 celcius, in my country we drive on temperature something like yours 24 fahrenheits (-3 celcius). It's hard sometimes when its snowy road, but the worst problem is cold.

Hey. You never lock your bike. Is it safety and you don't use lock all time or it's just for video? I live in small city in Russia and use lock every time (near restaurants and near client).
I think less bike theft happens in california and also he sometimes cuts out when he locks the bike

I used Uber all the time, then they started charging up the ass for simple deliveries just 1 block away.. ridiculous and now it's 10 to 20 dollars more per meal! Admittedly I also bought an electric bike and go pick stuff up myself lmao

I got a question for you. Recently I just got a bicycle and was thinking about starting up door dash or Uber Eats. I was able to get Uber Eats to work, but so far nothing and I'm in a relatively populated city. However with door dash I can't even select bicycle as a vehicle. It just gives me the option to choose car. Any ideas?

Yo do you lock your bike to a pole or something because if you don’t wouldn’t people take your bike since it’s pretty expensive.
Most ebikes come with an app that has a wheel lock to it also the bikes are fairly heavy it'd be difficult for someone to just pick it up and walk away lol
It's likely because of some covid regulations lifting. More and more people are going back out to restaurants and such.
Come to vegas, overwhelmed! I only use doordash and make some money not alot. Because here the orders are long and the money is low but you will always be busy. I just log on and boom orders are coming in, no need to schedule. You wont be able to use the electric bike here, even with my scooter the orders are long distances and short pay. Takes about 2hrs and i make 50 a day so thats my rent. You wont make money but will always be busy.
Well I've stopped using them and I go to the restaurant and collect my own meals and bring them home myself and save money.
Uber has terrible double order pay. The second order can be 50p extra.

Cruising speed would be 8-14mph Delivery speed 26-34mph
