  • The folks from ‪@PlayTronica‬ sent me a Touch Me to review on my channel. This device is a bioelectric MIDI controller that interacts with online synthesizers through your web browser. In this video, I unbox it and try interacting with it a few different ways.

I would have found this device very appealing with a CV out. (And of course a 'real' MIDI out.)
    Excellent video as always!

Agreed. CV and gate/trigger out would be really nice but I feel like 5-pin MIDI (even via TRS) is a necessity. USB is just too limiting. Thanks for checking it out.

Thank you so much for the mention of e-ther Kale. I agree with you totally, I'd love to play with this but the fact that it has MIDI over USB only is a bit limiting. I think that either cv/gate or real midi (or both!) would swing the sale for me.

That seems to be a popular opinion around here. just look at the other comments. 😝 Thanks for making a well-designed device with the options musicians want. I updated mine last week and I have to say the new features are great.

@@musicalmiscellany It's not so much a case of me researching what other musicians want but me making exactly what I wanted myself. I'm really pleased that it's gone down so well with others 🙂

@@midi_in well there's something to be said about manufacturers who actually use their products. They're designed better.

I dunno. Seems like it would work for me but then again i have no musical ability so i might be exactly what its marketed for. Fun vid.

Honestly, I think that's the target audience. It would be a great tool to get immediate gratification or tech synthesizer concepts. Thanks for checking out the vid Marty.

There's no way to record from it? dang.

Thanks for checking out the vid. Just to level-set... typically you can't record audio from any MIDI controller. However, software instruments make the process a lot more challenging. You can record it but you'd have to setup the sw instrument to interface with you DAW.

Yeah its sort of pointless in its current form. Rather fun gadget idea though

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of software instruments and this pretty much requires it. Granted you can use a USB to MIDI converter but... why not just include a TRS MIDI breakout. It would've made it so much more useful. Thanks for checking it out.
