I was originally planning on going to college to run track and study engineering after high school, but GLID and so many other factors have led me to decide that when I graduate, I’m going to enlist in the U.S. Marines.
Only weak people think about the negatives and run their lives accordingly. You can lose your leg in a car crash driving to school just as easily. I served 8.5 years and did everything, still have my legs. Don't be scared be brave , men should be brave !
As a current US Marine and college dropout, I'd advise you to do additional research and direct more questions towards a recruiter BEFORE you make this decision. Although I do eventually plan on finishing my degree, the Corps has changed my direction in life in a lot of different ways. Some of it I love, and some of it I regret. Do not make your decision based off of a YT video or any sort of video game and don't directly go into something without acknowledging what you may be getting yourself into. Sure, the Marines can offer you a plethora of tools to help you in life, but there are a lot of different opportunities out there for you to discover and explore. Nevertheless, I respect you for considering the idea. And should you ever make it out to the Fleet eventually, I hope you'll have lots of fun in the career field in which you choose.
