World's Longest Monorail in Egypt's New Administrative Capital City - مونوريل العاصمة

The Cairo Monorail is a two-line rapid transit system currently under construction in Cairo, Egypt. It is expected to be the most extended driverless monorail system in the world once completed. The two lines will connect the New Administrative Capital and the 6th of October City to the Cairo metropolitan area, providing much-needed public transportation links to these rapidly developing areas.
The monorail system is being built by the Arab Contractors Company and is scheduled to open to the public in 2023. The total cost of the project is estimated to be around EGP 150 billion (approximately USD 8.5 billion).
The first line of the Cairo Monorail will connect the New Administrative Capital to East Cairo, with a total length of 54 kilometers and 21 stations. The second line will connect the 6th of October City to Giza, with a total length of 42 kilometers and 12 stations. Both lines will operate at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour and will be able to transport up to 45,000 passengers per hour in each direction.

this is a bad project and waste of money, monorail is used only for short distances since it is running one way only means, pictures are showing only one rail so train must complete its full journey to come back in the opposite direction. how is this an efficient project? no wonder it says longest in the world only in Egypt

That's not true. The monorail can run in both two ways at the same time as I saw it personally. We will post a video soon about the monorail to show the progress.
