I notice some people criticising the design but I really like that main stand - clearly a nod to THE crystal palace. I think it's a nice way to incorporate some of the history of the area into a modern design
Great video, great team - great look at the future! Last year I got the chance to go to a match at Selhurst Park and Tottenham. While the new stadium at Tottenham was absolutely beautiful, I have to say, that Selhurst Park's atmosphere was far better. I knew the reputation of Selhurst Park, but to be there and to see a Wilfred Zaha goal in person was spectacular! The constant standing and chanting by supporters was awesome. There is something even more beautiful about the English football stadium that grows in spurts. I like the new addition; it reaches for the style of the day like Tottenham and Man City in its own way but embraces the Homedale and Arther Wait stands and from this distant shot appears like a ship docked in the community. CPFC you've captured this New Yorker for life. You are a more real sporting experience than I've ever had in America (well maybe Wrigley Field is on par for a game day experience). But the beautiful game with its promotion and relegation system makes the experience of any match during the season relevant. In the US we've got seasons that are worthless and too many teams that make the playoffs that don't deserve it and others that don't try. Boring!
Lifelong Palace fan here. It's great to be involved in the atmosphere at Selhurst Park. I hope you can get to more games in the future.
Its going to look weird, but it shows that we are trying to build for the future and hopefully can get more revenue and push higher up the table by attracting bigger players to play at a slightly more modern stadium.
Up the palace eaglessss
Try getting a new manager first
0:11 😅
I’m a Liverpool fan, but I love architecture. This is gonna look GREAT! I really hope you get it going soon. Gonna be an amazing project! Plus, it would make a great start for potential redevelopment for the other 2 sides. There’s good space all around the stadium, unlike Anfield, Stamford Bridge and many other stadiums, so they could always make the rest look the same in the long run. I think Whitehorse Lane Stand is the most outdated anyways, and perhaps would soon follow. I don’t know. I love this anyways. Stick to your stadium, and stick in the league😃
That was one of the most epic stadium construction videos i ever saw hahaha. Would be cool to see the new Frankfurt stadium stand renovation. Its not that big bbut will do a lot of change to the atmosphere
Would be amazing if you looked into the future and made the rest of the stadium take on this design. Or at least the side opposite this, might mean the removal of the road and the row of houses opposite though.
Amazing work as always! Love your vids
Seems enough space. The Aurther is really wide.
They cant. many different reasons why.
This is why its waste of money and pointless.
Its all about SP not whats best for Palace and while he has kept them stable he is awful business man who is out of depth.
@@nicmonberg5974why was a new stadium at Crystal Palace park rejected? That whole area rebuilt would be so good for a new home
@@Matteo356S Residents do not want it also Palace not willing to pay the price for new stadium plus upgrading transport.
Palace don't have good business people running the club it's very clear to see.
Commercial wise they are very poor which is why they don't bring in much money outside TV revenue.
Smart business people are like what West Ham has and look at the deal they got for stadium this is something Palace should be trying to do with govt who had plans to pump money into athletics with that crystal palace site being area.
Awesome video. I´d love to see this as a CPFC fan..❤💙
Enough room on the other side to get a matching stand. Will look pretty cool then. I'd give my right nut for West Ham to move from the soulless bowl. Hope it works out for the Palace. (thumbs up).
It’s going to be AMAZING!
Is there any way you could digitally create, say, a massive gas leak and explosion that leaves Sainsbury's a blackened hole in the ground? You'd be fulfilling so many Palace fans' fantasies. Your subscriber number would rocket! Guaranteed!...
Nicely done!
One day eh?
Lookx great 😊
Please do anfield all four stands expansion video. I really wanna see how it will look after phase 4
Yeah!! He’s back! - surprised this one hadn’t been done yet. I guess Man City’s Etihad North Stand is on the horizon
Mantap
Shouldn't you redevelop the 3 other stands as well to make it wrap-around (you can keep the newest end stand and replicate it at the other end with same/similar facade, and integrate the roof via transitions in the corner sectors)?
It's going to be one of the weirdest, most distorted looking stadiums in the world. It's a stadium you'd more likely see in Liga MX.
It gives Selhurst more character, I guess.
It's a bit bipolar to look at, can't argue with that 😅 it wasn't really a looker to begin with mind, great character, but it's needed an injection of something for a while now
😍
Have you heard about the Slovenian Project for La Bombonera, the Boca Juniors Stadium?
On the way....on the way.... coming soon......for how many years?
Thats what palace do.Glue bits on.
Whens it going to happen? They've been talking about it for five-years.
@Mundobondibot hace un video de la expansion de arena Corinthians
Great idea good planning but not want people who live 6 houses get complicated about going knock houses down.
If they start building new stadium, how can people find to live houses ??
Lovely work Bondi. But the music though... 😧
when it will be built
The main stand looks impressive. Was hoping the other three sides would be redeveloped and shown on here. The club has not reached that stage yet for further redevelopments?
No plans for developing any of the other stands yet. A palace fan speaking 😊
@@GJ.538 Fan of Palace too. The main stand should of been completed by now, because of Covid 19 and some legal issues. Would also like to see the other three sides redeveloped too! Can’t see it happening for a while at least?
If they do redevelop any stand after this, it’ll be the Arthur Wait Stand which is opposite the Main Stand as the stands behind the goal sections aren’t that old compared to the side stands.
@rhowell1978 the Sainsburys end next purely based in the corporate boxes that are there and I would imagine removed. But yes if any stand needs it , it's the AW.
So they're building a new stadium stand by stand not all in one
Where do we play when they do the whole ground at once
Future Germany Stadiums!!!Please!!!
that would be a terrible idea great stand yes but they need to move the stadium buy he houses behind the stand behind the goal and Sainsburys and move the stadium across if they build it like in the video that's them stuck hopefully someone at the club can thing beyond 5 years down the road
Pretty sure this main stand rebuild is going ahead, starting summer 2024. When the present owners (and supporters) rescued the club, they hoped to redevelop the athletics stadium in Crystal Palace park. Alas, Bromley Council (and local Nimby-ists) had a say in the matter. But 1) The athletics stadium is a mostly moribund 70s job, so it's begging to be demolished. 2) The transport links would've been pretty good. It has its own train station!. 3) It would've tied the club more closely to its 1860s roots - the FA Cup final was first played at the Crystal Palace, etc. Having said that, supporters love Selhurst Park and we're all delighted we're staying and not going to some out-of-town McStadium a' la (to pick a random example) Brighton.
and for when another video Future Paraguay stadiums (World cup) 2030
Where are the Solar Panels on the roof to supply the stadium and neighbourhood??
Really dragged the arse out of the video
Trying to be like BHAFC, small club
These plans are years old, work has never happened, planning permission if there ever was any will of now expired, don’t get ur hopes up palace fans
Let's hope we still get the Premier league revenue to pay for it, looks doubtful at the moment if we sell our best players and do the usual thing and buy crap players like Mateta, our so called scout need to pull his finger out or we'll struggle this season.
This area is coming on a lot
Waste of time and money.
Why in the UK they do insist with renovating stadiums between the houses?
They need to build a proper stadium in a place with enough space, like Everton is doing.
For lots of reasons.
~ Space in big cities like London are almost non-existent so most clubs just decide to redevelop their own stadiums.
~ Most football fans in the UK prefer traditional stadiums so stick to their original designs than build a souless bowl seomwhere else.
~ Football stadiums are often the heart of the community so we prefer them within our community than on an industrial estate 20 miles away.
~ Our transport links are good enough that you don't have to drive and can walk to the stadium or get a bus, train, tram etc
@@danibutcher We wanted to go the Crystal Palace Stadium but England Athletics wanted a running track. This is the next best thing.
@@MegaMicraman I thought it was because moving back to CPP was a non starter due to local residents groups rejecting the idea.
With London - there are so many clubs - so a move away could generally be on other team’s turf (yes Arse - looking at you c 1913), or very far away from the original fan base (shame on you Winkleman’s Wimbledon who mutated into MK Dons). And if you can build on an area thats not used then you are building literally on a wasteland - the stadium is shut for 6 out of 7 days and infrastructure has to be built around it- therefore you get stadiums built with new shopping complexes, Stadium MK, Pride Park etc… All very plastic and away from previous amenities - eg Boleyn Ground for the Lahndahhnn Stadium with its lovely shopping and cinema - all sanitised for the Green Street mob
@@danibutcher Ok, fair enough.
I'm a palace fan and think that looks ridiculous, so out of place!
What a pile of old crap. Never gonna happen.
I thought it may never
happen , but as the 6 tenants of the houses needed to be demolished are in the process of moving out , the ‘ ransom strip ‘ of land the club needed off sainsburys has been purchased and they’ve already dug deep test holes for the foundations I’ve changed my mind . Starts end of next season apparently!
Even if it did shows again how poorly the club is run and only increasing by 10 thousand lack of ambition
@@nicmonberg5974 all we need , why have a 40k that will only be full 5 or 6 games a season , and that with day trippers & tourists ! Look at West Ham ,even spurs
@@jakegrace79 So small minded and shows you lack ambition as well having day trippers/tourists is good for business also spreads the brand.
Palace sellout every Prem game currently.
@@nicmonberg5974 brand will look great around the world when there’s 10k empty seats against Burnley on a Tuesday night . I’ve been in selhurst park with 52k in there , Also with 3.5 ! . We’ve got a massively fickle fanbase, gone from average 29 to average 6 in 2 years before. 35 k is perfect , we won’t fill that every game though once the initial ‘rush’ is over . Also where do you suggest these extra seats will go ? Hardest stand to improve is the Arthur Wait due to the houses behind . Took years to negotiate a small bit of land off sainsburys to built this new thing , imagine trying to build above the Whitehorse end 😂
Pointless and waste of money.
They wont be able to do anything with the other three stands so why even bother.
This is polishing a turd.
Make sense to find a better location and build a new stadium.
Ron noades even understood this which is why he had agreed a deal for the old Crystal Palace site the issue back then was the stadium capacity limit which is why he didn't do it.
Why cant they redevelop the other three stands ? What do you know that no one else does ?
@@luckyducky7166 Many other people do know it doesn't require much knowledge about the area and some basic regulations.
Why do you think it's taking so long to do only the one stand.
@@nicmonberg5974 because of covid . Delayed the project.
@@luckyducky7166 nope
@nicmonberg5974 the company doing the reject went bust ?
2017 still the same forest had plans for new stand years ago are we living in slow motion now
