Nice finish for this project, made that property look real good, mulcher was doing its thing. You need to buy stock in what ever company makes tripods, your keeping them in business.great video as always just continue doing your thing.😎😎😎👍👍👍
You my friend do one hell of a job at mulching. Almost anyone could run a skidster could mulch buuutt there is an art to the madness. Not just destroy with reckless abandon 😮
I look at you taking some of the trees down as helping opening it up so the other trees can grow and more sunlight can get in . Then it won't be so wet when the next time it needs work done there .
Davin, love videos like this, and good to see you back at this site and continue to get this cleaned up and cleared. Davin, with almost dropping the very first tree, ALMOST on us. Stinker! Chris [ Letsdig18 ] was actually using HIS TMC concella mulcher in the video he released today, clearning up brush and smaller trees arounf what is going to be his new cabin site. Needs a bit more work, but did a great job. I agree tha6t a lot of these smaller treesa needed to go and cleared out.. looks so much better now..will be easier to move when you come back this later summer
A lot of people don't realize that with the furniture and paper mills being so prominent in our area that big the timber was taken out years ago. That is unless you still have a huge stand untouched on private property somewhere. Looking great Devon!
True but International Paper and Burroughs & Chapin both still own tens of thousands of acres of untouched, massive trees and they always replant right after they harvest so we are doing just fine.✌️
That dead gum sounded like that dad gum tree. Funny. Had to duck when you cut that one tree down on us. It looks good enough for a few picnic tables. Barbeque
13:00 Always good to have a healthy mix of trees in a woodland. Bio-diversity. Different habitats for the little critters. I know it is a different story if that were a working timber plot.
Amazing what a few hundred miles will change the view on things. up here that be "free" winter heat. down in SC where it don't get cold it is useless. (and no 20F isn't cold, that is a warm winter day)
Sweet gum trees are not timber! They are not good for anything, in my opinion. That is one of the 2 things I don't understand why they are on this earth. The other is a fire ant. Nice work Davin!
Hello. Catching up on the videos im behind on.😂😂😂. If the owner wants trees down he would be taking them down. It's not up to him. He getting paid to do these jobs🎉🎉🎉🎉. Looks open now.
Good afternoon Sir. I have been watching your channel for a couple of years now, I would watch you and John of upstate brush control. I have noticed that some how UA-cam has weeded away your videos as well as upstate brush control. I don't know how many of your subscribers are experiencing this, but I think it is well worth looking into. Please pass this message on to John if you can. I have looked at the list of videos you posted and I've not seen nor has UA-cam posted any of your content on my list of videos to watch for about 12 to 14 videos. Just an FYI. Also seems like I get notifications of more political B.S. I am not even subscribed to. I will have manually have to go back and click your postings as well as John's.
@idigit4967 absolutely all my notifications are on, that's how I've gotten to watch all the other videos. I feel like UA-cam is steering us away, and they are sending us content we aren't subscribed to. It's almost like they are pushing it onto us.
13:00 If those are hard wood trees and fire wood is not selling well in that location, then you take he hard wood and dry it in a kiln and sell it as Lump Coal and Charcoal. That will sell all over the country.
When going forward and having the Mulcher lowered to cut ground level the trees tend to push forward. When going backwards you are bringing the material into the drum as you go over it.
I just cut up a whole bunch of red oak from a tree that fell (in Columbia) and was bocking a trail. I feel bad because its such good wood but there is no use for it. I have plenty of firewood for campfire burning but other wise there is nothing I can do with it. It's solid, heavy, good wood, could have made good furniture of something but just not feasible to do anything with the wood.
Sorry but I had to put this ear worm in your head, lol! "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK I sleep all night, I work all day I cut down trees, I eat my lunch..."
There's a few reasons for that. One, they grow like weeds: thick and fast. Two, they have a grain like a squiggle straw, which means it doesn't split, which in things like chairs is a good thing. But it also means you can't work the wood like normal. You can't carve it, you can only cut it with a saw, a chisel or a rasp. And because the grain is all over the place, it can be dangerous to turn on a lathe. Cut too deep, and it'll grab your tool and fling it across the shop. Now, if you are poor, and have more time than money, then yes! Sweet gum can be worked into furniture. You just gotta obey the rules set by the _wood_, not by the person.
Your tripod needs hazard pay😅. Also you said you not gonna be messing with the thick trees… you lied dude! I was like it might fall on you like that one time you miscalculated & it almost fell on your skid.
And just to let You know Davin. Gum Trees are not even worth to Burn in a Fire Place. They are just like Sycamore trees. And not really to good for Lumber as well. They are nothing but a Trash Tree.
You say these trees have no use, bull shit. Birds use these for nesting, we use them for breathing. These trees keep arrosion down of the earth.what God provides all have good uses.

Happy weekend, Davin. Turned out great.
Davin, You’ve done a great job on that property

Nice job Davin! Another well done! Keeping South Carolina beautiful!!
This is so cool to watch.. it is amazing how fast it takes down a tree and cleans it up. Keep up the good work
Glad you enjoyed watching!
Looking good, Davin. Cancela keeps devouring.

Looking great mate. Nice work 🤙😎🇦🇺
Looks good and makes it easier to manage.

Also, is the owner going to get you to sort out that wet spot? dig the ditch etc so in the future you can brushhog all of it??
Another good job well done
Always enjoy, thanks for sharing and I'll see you later.

This question is probably already been asked and answered, what's that dial gauge for on the back of the head?
I asked the same thing in a different video. It is hydraulic pressure.

I'm just amazed the kind of stuff u can do with a skid steer
Me too!
I'm learning to drive one
Question: it appears that it mulches the best when you’re backing up, what do you think?
When going forward and having the Mulcher lowered to cut ground level the trees tend to push forward. When going backwards you are bringing the material into the drum as you go over it.
Good job and video Brother.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@idigit4967 always do
Speaking of timber, good luck finding someone to remove timber on a small plot. As you stated, it just costs too much.

It is not a show without the tripod/Gopro taking a hit, LOL!
How do you sharpen the mulcher teeth and how long does it take?
Angle grinder with a 7" flap disc. Usually takes about 20 minutes.

The trees you mulched are not useless. They get turned into compost.
True!
Sweet gums are not entirely useless as they are used for furniture, veneers, baskets, resins, etc... fyi
There's a few reasons for that. One, they grow like weeds: thick and fast. Two, they have a grain like a squiggle straw, which means it doesn't split, which in things like chairs is a good thing.
