Have you noticed Clay never really says anything in the custcenes? I think I read on the wiki that he was added later on when the game was almost done to make it look like the gang had more people...
I didn't know that... but I did notice he doesn't talk much.

Despite playing this mission a number of times, I have never used Terry and Clay’s help, I always opted to send Johnny in solo. It never crossed my mind to send a grenade through the window.

It's kinda strange that if you call Terry and Clay for back up and throw the grenade throw the window, Johnny won't have the option to spare Brian, he'll have to kill him no matter what.
A big proof that killing him is cannon

It's interesting how every relevant lost my member is killed by a main character Jason and Jim are killed by Niko. Bryan and Billy are killed by Johny. And Johny Terry and Clay are killed by Trevor (which shouldn't have even happened but rockstar made their choice)
And Chinatown Wars
And all the other random Lost members were killed by the 3 characters too.

I really wish they would make another DLC with Johnny in it for GTA 5, All the gta 5 characters kinda sucked ass besides Trevor. Johnny was awesome back in TLAD, would love to see him again before he dies.

I hope R* will remember their plans for their single player DLC but its pretty clear that online content is the only thing that makes money, besides, the doomsday DLC was probably going to be a single player dlc until they saw the shark card potential....
But that would be cool, including an ending where I kick Ashley to the side to die of her addiction and put a bullet through Trevor's head, so there's an ambiguous ending, like how there's 3 endings without any confirmed as Canon because at this point R* writing has gone down hill a bit so why not?
Smoking Out option and Johnny chases Brian is one of the funny methods. XD
I'll never forget how confused I was the first time I beat this mission, I completed it so quickly that I never even realized I smoked Brian, I bombarded the area with grenade launchers and apparently he died before I could see him spawn.
If only they secured the rights to have him say "heeeeere's Johnny"!

From what I did I followed him and shoved him in the river while he was floating and I drove off and I got the alternate call saying Brian is half way to h3ll
What if you destroy Brian's bike then scare him to escape round back
He will ran out in the backyard and will take defensive position there
I like how Clay doesn’t GAS that johnny gonna take out brian but Terry does
That is because Johnny,Terry and Brian all have a 'i rode mine to Los Santos patch on there cuts and we're pritty close in the past.... but then things changed when Billy came back...sigh

yes, but it's not accessible from the street... you need a helicopter (if I remember correctly)
Actually you can climb that small wall near the yellow marker and snipe him from there. Definitely worked for me.
On top of what pelucheCR7 said, you can also climb the crates on the right and get to the top. I did that and sniped him with the M4A1 (Carbine Rifle)
