*BST is definitely J-hope's and Jimin's era. They owned it, especially Hoseok for me. Him doing the comeback trailer, having a center position in BST and main part in the outro was iconic... he killed it*
All of the members has an important role to the story. It’s based off the book Demian by Herman Hesse, where they talk about the temptation of good and evil as said in the video. What we know is that Jin plays the main role as Emil Sinclair, same with Taehyung as he plays Max Demian. Suga plays two roles. At first we see him playing Franz Kromer, he’s Emil’s bully through the story and is basically on the evil side. Then later in the mv, Suga also plays the giant ass piano, that’s the ‘pianist’ that talks about the god abraxas. Jungkook plays the role of the good things, like god, school and just all good things. He holds himself (Emil) back from the temptation and wants to be good. Meanwhile, Jimin plays the role of the evil and what happens when falling into the pit of temptation. That’s why we see Suga covering Jimin with the blindfold and hand at the start, because he leads Jimin (Emil) Into the evil side. (I’m not completely sure about who Namjoon and Hoseok play, but I can kinda describe of they’re presence) Namjoon basically has the role of fear. We know that he starts on the good side, but eventually falls into the bad side because he knows he can’t overwin the bad alone as he’s set pressure on. With all of Namjoon’s scenes, we see lots of colors. They have a big meaning of what ‘stage’ they’re in. Red: defiance, aggression, visual impact, strain. Yellow: Irritationaloty, fear, emotional fragility, depression, anxiety, suicide. Orange: Deprivation, frustration, frivolity, immaturity. Green:balance, harmony, positive, awareness. Violet: introversion, decadence, suppression, inferiority. Pink: physically weak, emotional deediness/unrealistic expectations, girlish, lack of will power and self worth. Black: oppression, coldness, menace, heaviness. Blue: coldness, aloofness, lack of emotion, unfriendliness. In the real world, these colors represent their emotional pain, whereas in the world in between, the colors represent what they want, the emotions that they want to feel. And these colors are tempting them. That’s why we see Jungkook and Namjoon drinking or ‘liking’ the green color because they gave in since it’s a ‘forbidden’ color, as we know that all of these colors are just temptations, meaning that the evil tempts them them by making them believe that they could get what they want if they take the evil path. Last, but not least we have Hoseok. He plays the role of innocence. As we see, he sits on a chair with water knee high. What we know is that he still has hope left, and doesn’t want to let the suicidal and bad thoughts get to him. Later we see Hoseok shooting an arrow at Taehyung, meaning he tried to ward off the evil inside V (Demian) Soooo yes, this was some random information about the story and they’re roles. I know it was hella long, but I was bored and I always like to leave a comment on videos about the story and such because I am currently reading Demian, though there is a lot more to the story and the characters because this is kinda like the sequel to the Most beautiful moment In life trilogy where almost everything starts. ps: I just copied paste someone’s comments for her to have more ideas abt this mv lol✌🏼💜
The painting is called "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" and it depicts the fight between the good and the bad angels. In terms of its significance in the MV, one could argue that perhaps it relates to the idea of wanting to sin vs resisting the urge to sin (i.e. a war between both good and bad). I feel that the German quote about chaos and life also ties into this idea quite nicely. The English word you were looking for is "organ." I just googled the German equivalent and is it called an "orgel"? Languages are so fascinating! As others have mentioned, I would definitely recommend the dance practice for this song too - it's one of my favourite practices! 😍Hobi especially will kill you, haha 😉💜
Notice the two doors on either side of Jin when he’s looking at the painting? The mv has so much symbolism, it’s easy to miss things. Also, when J-hope shoots the arrow it seems like he shot V. Since the Wings album follows the Youth Trilogy it’s very much about the loss of innocence, and giving into temptations. Connecting it back to the storyline, I think I read somewhere that V’s lost his wings, because he’s had a complete loss of innocence by killing his father.
Wow, same, but it was the teaser which captured my whole existence. If I could recall, second was boy meets evil. Ohmygod I remembered myself of October 2016.
This MV is FULL of symbolism like you said. it's crazy actually. for example, The First painting jin is looking at is called "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" where good and bad angels(fallen angels) are fighting from two sides and he is standing in between symbolising the fight within himself between good and evil. it's common in mythology that fallen angels lose their wings(V is missing his wings means V has already fallen into the darkness/Temptation), When suga is rapping sitting on thin glass in that room shows how easily/close he is to falling into temptation as well and you'll see a white cloud above his head symbolizing that his head is clouded/ he can't think clearly, in the last scene where jin is looking in the mirror you see that the flower next to him is a lily, however in the reflection its a lilac. I think this is symbolizing how the mirror is showing not the reality but what's within and he sees his face cracking in the reflection. ( i don't want to go deeper into why this is because it might be touching on spoilers). I could go all day cause there is so many lol but it's always fun to analyze this video. PS: Your reaction was amazing as always 💜💜
There is a japanese version of it...just saying! And yes now you know why we love BS&T!! The art Jin is looking at is the fall of angels(lucifer being a fallen angel), there is the fall of Icarus behind them when they are on the couch, the sculpture behind J-Hope is La pieta de Michelangelo, for what I know of. The green drink can also referenced Absinthe which was used by Poets to get visions and inspiration. the colors seeping out means they have succumbed to temptation. Much love !!
I remember watching a reaction somewhere where a guy said the lines: "Peaches and cream Sweeter than sweet Chocolate cheeks And chocolate wings" is actually from books? All I remember is that the chocolate wings is from Icarus, another story about temptation where Icarus flew too near to the Sun and his chocolate wings melted and he fell. The "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" appears in the Fake Love choreography.
This video is more based on Demian, while the Japanese mv to this song is very storyline-heavy, be careful watching it on camera, Japanese bts mvs get chopped down very quickly, you can talk abt it with screenshots or put it on Patreon 😊
Finally 🥺😌💜💜BS&T is legit jimin's era that jimin's accident tho and jinmin harmonizing ( jin lower range and jimin doing higher one) is just blessing to my ears🥺💜💜💫💫your reaction.....hanna same as me when I watched it for the very first time and even when I am watching it now for maybe 48th time hahaha 😁😁🙈🙈💜💜 they bias wrecked y'll at certain times like legit..😌🙈💜 Our 7 ANGELS 💜💜 BORAHAE 💜💜 Lots of love and much power to you hanna 💜💜💜🌟🌟💫💫 can't wait for the upcoming videos hehehe as always 💯💯😁💜💜💜
i think blood sweat and tears is what reallyyy hooked me into bts, first song i heard by them was dna, then i saw bst and my brain was absolutely blown away, it was 4am and i remember texting my friend about this new group i found that made me lose my mind , that’s part of why i love it so much
When I think of beautiful languages I never think of German, but then every time I hear someone pronouncing it gently I get goosebumps. Thank you for translating that quote. =)
There are a bunch of reaction videos they make reacting to themselves when they put new stuff out lol they’re really funny.... they loved jimin and his jacket move in this and all cheered for him and suga called him jiminie... they’re super cute and def appreciate army’s out here supporting them... you never know girl they def could see you one day!!!!! How cool that would be!!!
yes this one, i hope that you can watch the reaction of them reacting to themselves. Blood sweat and tears is the first official reaction that they've don (jimin and hope actually had reacted to their dope MV and as far as i remember is not official content)
@@YouandMe14 ugh right?!?!? I love how this long after they react with the same excitement and support... love these guys... I hope they can see as much army content as possible!!!! You know they’re always watching :)
Heyy Hanna! How you doing!? 🥺 6:05 Yup girl, welcome to the legendary BS&T 😂💔 8:45 It's an accident! 😰🤭😂💔 16:35 plzz! The expressions are literally living in every Army's brain rent free 🙂💔 22:00 this MV, this era..... When it dropped... Omll! It was total chaos! Everyone went crazy! For the dance moves, the looks, the visuals, the story line! You can say, on that day, everyone had a slight stroke! And since that day on, this MV and era became one of the biggest mysteries in kpop history! Like everything we got are only theories and more theories! Oh don't they love torturing us! 🤣💔
Duh ten seconds in and you are like 'what was that?'.I mean we told you we never recovered from bst jimin lol. Also how about you do MMA 2016 performance? Since it includes blood sweat and tears and boy meets evil(Jimin and jhope duo) too. Please check that if you can.love your reactions as always.
Hi Hanna. I was also one of those who researched the meaning and interconnection of BTS albums and BTS Universe. From what I have read, BTS albums came in batches that relate to real life experiences. The first 3 albums (ORUL82, Skul Luv Affair and Dark & Wild) were released when BTS members were still teenagers and the albums talked about teenage & student life. Then the succeeding 5 albums (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life 1 & 2, Young Forever, Wings & You Never Walk Alone) talked about life in the 20s like questioning one's self, living in chaos and going through struggles. The storyline didn't stop there. The succeeding 4 albums Love Yourself (Her, Tear, Answer and Persona) talked about the next level of life like finding one's self and learning to accept and love who you are. The next album Map of the Soul 7 is the last album to tell the story of loving yourself and finding your path. According to all that I have read and watched, all the 10 albums and the BTS Universe storyline were heavily based on Carl Jung's theory of "Individuation"..... All of these where created based on Bang Si Hyuk's (Big Hit's CEO & founder) goal to produce songs with content and positive influence..... Thank you for reading my comment!
Oh the day is here!! This mv is for sure a masterpiece and probably one of the best mvs I’ve ever seen. Although the song itself is not one of my favs I love the song and mv together And the 8th member, Jimin’s shoulder make an appearance 😁 Love and support 💜💜
Wings is my favorite era, j-hope and jimin shine in this era, they became more famous internationally in this era, they're all so talented..love them so much.. borahae Hanna 💜
For me, Wings is j-hope's era and this is the MV that drew me in the BTS universe 😂 It is so aesthetic and in depth. I really like that Jin ist standing between a white and a black arch at the beginning, symbolizing the good and the evil world. But this is just one detail out of many. I actually read Demian because of this MV 😂 I think Suga playing the organ is a direct reference to the organ player Pistorius who is a guide for the protagonist Emil in Demian. The German quote if from Nietzsche who influenced Hermann Hesse's work if I am not mistaken. There is also a BS&T dance practice which I recommend! 😊
The painting that Jin is looking at is called "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. It's about the battle of fallen angels vs. good angels. The storyline is so deep. I just love it. I thought you would appreciate it. 💜
This reaction came in the perfect time. Few days ago Dynamite broke some records and some haters got riled up saying it's a basic mediocre song but I bet they've never even heard or watch this MV that is so deep and full of symbolism. Their songs that did quite well in the West were like Boy With Luv and Dynamite shows that they basically have to 'simplified' their songs to grab westerner ears cause songs like BST are too deep for them to comprehend smh. Anyway, back to the guys. Fun fact, JK was only 18 during Wings era. And yesssss the guys do watch Army/reaction videos hahahaha. I've heard stories and there's few caught on videos where Hobi and JK recognized reactors face to face lol 🧐😉😉😉 I think you should watch Blood Sweat & Tears: What Does it All Mean? video. That basically explained in details the symbolism and everything. Oh and dance practice! That's one thing you should watch too 😌
So happy that you finally did a reaction to this MV. To me this is their the most seductive song and V’s voice in it-no words. This song is in my top 5.
If you notice the sculptures, they are in black and white, angels and satan.... So, it's a picture of good and evil. And before Blood, Sweat and Tears, is the song "Intro: Boy Meets Evil". So, in BS&T, the characters had accepted evil (symbolized by taking the green poison, Jin being lured and kissing the angel to unleash V from his wings) .... Enjoy the storyline and the songs, it's amazing and fascinating!!!
This is first BTS song I heard😍 And when I saw this mv first Time My focus Only on J-HOPE👀 HE IS JUST SUPER HOT🔥✨ in this mv. And Plzz react to BS&T Dance Practice that is also very DOPE👍
Yessssss girl, I'm here for a 24:42 minutes of reaction!! I wasn't an army back in blood, sweat and tears era, but I miss this era so much. Imagine being an army back then 🥺
This MV was the final nail in my coffin as an ARMY. They caught my attention with their awesome music and also because they all are sooo handsome (not going to lie) but with the whole Demian arc I lost it!! 💜💜 This era will always have a special place in my heart~
This whole album was so ahead of its time. Pure genius. If you can, I would love to see you react to the dance practice for this (the choreo really matches the storytelling) and the 2016 MAMA performance of Boy Meets Evil parts 1&2 and BS&T. You will just...be blown away.
There's an explanation video called "Blood Sweat & Tears: What Does it All Mean?" by Don't Worry I'm Not Afraid that dives into a lot of the symbolism and relations to Demian in the music video. It talks about how some of the boys correlate to characters in the novel. Like, when he's playing on the organ, Suga is in the role of Pistorius, one of Sinclair's (Jin's) guides or mentors. It's a great explanation and goes into a lot of detail with the sets and things and brings in parts from the short films as well. Also, the dance practice for this song is amazing and you should definitely check that out if you want to see more of the choreography for this song.
Some people already said it but BS&T is heavily based on Demian, and the book itself has been used a lot for the MV of Wings era, so it’s a bit complicated to understand if you don’t know the book ! To keep it simple Abraxas is indeed an entity that symbolise good and evil, but it is also an important figure mentionned by Carl Jung who wrote Map of the Soul, the whole psychology concept theories about Shadow, Persona, Ego etc... In « Demian », Abraxas is like a representation of the perfect balance (god is good and the devil is bad but Abraxas is both so it’s above god and the devil, and the main character in « Demian » is fascinated by this entity/idea, because he is on the « good side » but start questioning his own life and beliefs. Basically « Demian » is about growing up and understanding one’s self. In Blood Sweat & Tears it’s quite clear that V represent the sin, he is here to « corrupt » the boys and we can see the six others falling into temptation one after the other, they are not innocent anymore at the end of the MV. (It’s all about sin and other badly connoted words because in « Demian » again, being aware of the world around him and starting questioning his parents point of view is very scary for the main character, it’s not right, it’s « evil », but at the same time he can’t help but being curious about it.) That’s also why V has wing scars on his back, it can represent Lucifer, the fallen angel, once God’s favorite but now « evil » because he turned against his father. Also the bird on the painting, I think it represent that as well. « To become an adult (to be born like a bird) he must first destroy the world (the world being the egg). The bird flies to God. That God’s name is Abraxas. » So in order to grow up one must walk in the realm of darkness but not forget the realm of light, he has to find the balance → Abraxas. In the MV you can see the boys falling into temptation : Jimin is holding an apple (you already saw an apple in Lie), it’s obviously biblical, the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge. He is also blindfolded but end up removing the blindfold, to « see the truth ». Yoongi is the one who blindfold Jimin, to « preserve his innocence » but the green smoke from RM’s room is already entering his room. RM’s part is a little bit tricky because he is not good to begin with. In the BU you will see later that RM’s character is already a little bit grey, he is aware of the world around him and his actions have bad consequences even though he tries not to hurt his friends. In BS&T he is « evil », he is the one poisonning Jungkook (with the absinthe) and Yoongi (with the smoke). He can also be associated with Dionysus, the god of insanity and pleasure (the absinthe he’s drinking is an alcohol known for it’s psychotropic effects - it is also called the demon drink or the green fairy). J-hope’s character on the other hand tries to stop V by shooting an arrow at him. Arrows comes to symbolize protection from the evil as well. You can also see a huge statue behind him. This is « The Pietà », it’s a statue made by Michelangelo and it represents Virgin Mary holding the body of Jesus after his death. It’s here one purpose of course, because it is a huge connection to j-hope’s storyline. You already saw in his solo concept « Mama », the circle that represent him at the end has Eva written on it. It’s another connection with « Demian », because Frau Eva is the mother of the main character and j-hope storyline revolves around his mother (you will see that later). The concept of Mother is really important for j-hope’s character hence the statue of Virgin Mary, who is the representation of the universal mother. The statue ends up being destroyed when j-hope gives up. And Jin finally embraces Abraxas at the end as well. The kiss may be a representation of the Kiss of Judas also known as the Betrayal of Christ. I would like to talk a little bit about art as well, it’s a huge part of the MV, and being a BA major myself I just love talking about all the details in this MV ! First of all the colors ! In the BU the colors are really important, and most of the time they represent what is « bad ». We talked about j-hope earlier so let’s start with him. You can see him shooting an arrow at V but only colors appears on his portrait. It is only my own interpretation but what I understand here is that j-hope tries to stop/protect his friend (like Yoongi did with Jimin) but by doing so he hurts him (the arrow and the blood) and at the end V lose his innocence (that’s why the blood is full of color). And when j-hope realise what he has done, he gives up and that’s when the statue explode and the water spouts. But this time the water is also colored. Pink and Green. Pink symbolize innocence and childhood while green represent sickness and fear, it is a color often associated with villains as well. And in this shot we can see that the green water is overflowing but the pink one disappears. All the colors in his MV « Mama » and « Boy Meets Evil » are here to represent that as well. RM is also associated with green, because of the absinthe but also the smoke (funny trivia : absinthe was one of the most consumed alcohol in 19th-century Paris, mostly by artists, and RM’s room is heavily inspired by this era as well). The flame you see during RM’s part is connected to the way this alcohol is consummed actually. You have to put a sugar-cube on a silver spoon placed on top of the glass and let the sugar melt with a dose of absinthe. Then you ignite the sugar and let it caramelize and you mix it with the dose of absinthe in the glass, it will set the drink on fire. The moment when the spoon of sugar is mixed with the alcohol is represented by the colors at 1:44 in the MV. The bird set on fire can also symbolize the bad influence of RM on the others. You can also see in his MV « Reflexion » that he tattooed the bird on his own arm and once he drank what was in his cup he collapsed and colors appears on the tattoo, like it was running in his body. Also Jungkook who is linked to RM in this MV is the first one to fall into temptation by drinking the absinthe. It is only suggested in this MV, but completely shown in the japanese one. In this one you can see him swallow green wax with his finger. The green of course represent the alcohol but the wax is more interesting ! If you look closely at the painting behind him while he is on the swing, it represente the fall of Icarus (the painting is named « The Lament for Icarus » by Draper). Him on the swing is a representation of Icarus as well, he seems almost frozen in time, in the middle of his fall. The wax he swallowed earlier of course represent Icarus’ wings that have melted when he flew too close to the sun. He couldn’t resist temptation like Icarus. There is a lot of other details, like the black and white doors next to the painting Jin is looking at, at the begining. It can represent good and bad, and Jin in between, with the painting « The Falls of the Rebel Angels » by Bruegel. It’s a painting representing the very first fight between good and evil, when Lucifer fell. This painting is a huge foreshadowing of what will happen in the MV. Of course the scene with the table and the drinks represent The Last Supper (another biblical reference). The original painting represent the moment when Jesus announced that one of his twelve disciples will betray him (the traitor being V in the MV). Another important painting is the one we can see when V is on the balcony. It is named « Landscape with the Fall of Icarus » by Bruegel. This is the moment V gives in to temptation, he litteraly fell of the balcony (the fall of Lucifer). The choice of painting is super interesting because in this one we don’t actually see Icarus, only his legs are visible because he is already drowning and nobody cares, the world remain the same around him. This could represent the state of mind of V’s character actually. I will not talk about the webcomic or the two books in details, but V’s character is quite dark and depressed, he has a rough life but pretends everything is fine most of the time so in the end nobody really notice his distress. Also, about the organ Yoongi is playing at the end, it’s another connection with the book, because the character of Pistorius plays the organ (he is the mentor of the main character and have some knowledge about Abraxas too). This could mean Yoongi is taking the role of a guide as well. At the end when RM recite another part of the book you can see Jin with a balloon, this is when he gives up his own innocence. He let the balloon fly away before reaching out his arm as if he immediately regrets his decision. After that you can see all the boys leaving the space but Jin is looking back (because of regret ? doubt ?) and V comes back to cover his eyes and finally show him the statue. And after he kissed the statue you can see colors everywhere, the statue has cracked and there’s colors dripping from it, Jimin also has colors on his face when he removes the blindfold, the boys are making quite sensual and lascivous expressions and Jin’s face cracks in front of the mirror. V successfully bought chaos. Finally, about the quote above the mirror it can once again be connected to the book, because in the end what Hermann Hesse tells us is : you have to confront and accept chaos in you in order to become a greater version of yourself (and be able to fly). Ps : sorry if there is some typos or grammatical mistakes, I did my best !
Hey You! If you want to know all about the art in the video, there is a historian who analysed the video from that point of view. She did not know of the rollercoaster of the storyline you are riding right now, so you will not get spoiled. The channel is called MoanInc (weird, I know) not a lot of people watched it because she is not watching the whole MV in her video. :))) Also, now you can watch the tour trailer, believe me you won't regret it. The Japanese version is more connected to the BU than this MV. I am always having fun with you, coming here to meet up with a friend💜 Sending you lots of love.
This mv is so beautiful and thought provoking. A favorite. But you MUST watch the dance practice to FULLY appreciate the choreo. And you will be astounded by the upper body strength of Jungkook (dear lord how does he do that dive onto the floor??)
Supposedly, this is the first video where they deliberately tried to be sexy. There's an explained video for BST that you may want to watch. There's no spoilers for the story line, but it talks about the art in the MV. It gets into things that you didn't notice in the background, and talks about the painting Jin is looking at, the painting Tae jumps into, and the German quote, too. It may fill in a lot of blanks about aspects of the video that you may not recognize. Oh, it also identifies the song that Suga is playing and what roles each member of BTS plays in the video, corresponding with roles in the book, Demian. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/5tlgAUE6yjg/v-deo.html
Yesss they see reactions and actually enjoy them! J-hope said he likes to watch fans reaction on yt, Yoongi once imitated people reacting to them on vlive, it was quite funny! Jungkook, he is more likely to recognize youtubers (he talked about knowing Cameron Philip when they were reacting to song covers, went to shake hands and hug Bris x Life during James Corden...that was a cute story to hear from him) And they react to their own mvs at each comeback (maybe you already saw that on vlive🙂)
Also in an Army magazine article " The arrow hits V and is symbol of his being fallen and losing his wings, he is the representation of Lucifer which is from the painting" I just love the depth of these videos "the archetypes" and the way you interpret them is so well thought out. I just love how you make the intellectual so easy grasp. I am a Shakespearean actress and I used to study art & history. BTS stories are just so amazing. The classical references are crazy. Milton (Paradise Lost) would love it. 😂❤
Also remember Jhopes theme in this era is "mama". Hence why you see him a lot in front of the statue of mary holding a child. Jimins theme is "lie" hence why you see him in blindfolds or covering the eyes. V's theme is "stigma", kind of like lucifer, the fallen angel. In Jin's "Awake" video he holds the flowers pedals and sings about how he can never fly like the flowers. I think he portrays himself as the vase that holds up the flower (6 pedals representing the other 6 members), which is also symbolic to why he cracked in the end. Idk maybe I'm thinking too much.
As an artist and Jimin-biased OT7 (in that I love them all equally but Jimin is the one that naturally draws my attention), the BS&T MV makes me SO. DARN. HAPPY. Allow me to elaborate. (Also a mythology nut; very into Riordan. Dionysus was a dream come true.) I mean, Fall of the Rebel Angels by Bruegel the Elder (the one Jin was looking at in the beginning)? Perseus with the Head of Medusa by Cellini (the black sculpture at the back of the main room)? The Lament for Icarus by Draper (in the background of the room where Jungkook is on the swing - the ceiling painting in that room is a fresco by Quaglio from St. Nicholas' Church in Slovenia), Landscape with the Fall of Icarus (believed to be an anonymous early copy of a lost Bruegel original, the balcony where Tae jumps), Michelangelo's Pieta (the fountain where Hobi was - though it's not an exact replica), the allusion to The Last Supper, the wax and the feathers, the Labyrinth from Young Forever- And ARMY absolutely lost it circa Black Swan because the CONNECTIONS here to the movie and therefore between the songs, and the implications for the BTS Universe- I love that you noted the possible connection to the three wise monkeys, since - something to note 😉- it's a point choreography of the Fake Love chorus. And there's Demian too, I guess. But ART.
BS&T's jpn version is visually more connected to the BU storyline while the original takes elements / symbolisms from Hesse's Demian about the loss of youth or innocence and also the good vs evil thingy. SUGA & spice has and amazing explanation for mvs- both jpn and kor and the wings short films connection to both the BU and demian.
@@YouandMe14 Hahaha.. I love you girls, take a look at NeverNot_KookV YT account, her analysis on some bts songs and MVs are mind blowing, it will support some of your own analysis, I see you've got some kind of similarity, lol
I love your reactions. I love the fact that you come across as calm, natural, and genuine with your reactions and your enjoyment of the boys' music and art. As an enthusiast of art, literature and intertextuality, this is the song that turned me into ARMY for life. Fake love was the first I heard that made me curious to hear more, and this was the second, and ever since I've gone down the rabbit hole and I am happy I did. You've done a great job decoding much of the symbolism in the MV and song, but it's worth also checking some explanation videos as the ones on this MV in particular have done a wonderful job.
Finally, I was looking forward to your reaction! This video is a masterpiece, maybe the pinnacle of BTS's 'integrated content' like Suga has called their artistic output, where it goes beyond the music and choreography, to encompass everything beginning with the concept of the Wings album adding in all the other visual elements in the video like the cinematography, the set design, wardrobe, colors, props, you name it and there's purpose and thought behind it even when it goes over my head, especially when trying to tie it back to the BU storyline, lol. 🤯 Loss of innocence and fall into temptation, the transition from youth to adulthood is expressed by their actions, drinking, licking candle wax, inhaling smoke, etc., and the last one left was Jin who in the end also gives in and his face cracks. The talk of death in the lyrics you mentioned could also be a biblical reference since sinners will not be resurrected and lose the opportunity for eternal life that is promised in The Bible. Aside from the painting (The Fall of Rebel Angels), the Last Supper-esque tableau, Jimin holding an apple, the Pieta sculpture's face exploding, V jumping off the balcony like the a fallen angel, etc. There is so much to unpack here, but it is all amazing when you put the whole package together with the song, the dancing, their expressions and like you mentioned, they all went for it 100%. Now you have to watch a live performance and the dance practice! Pure art!!!
I am telling truth..i love ur reaction so much..i blushed along with you throughout watching this ... U must watch japanese version of blood sweat and tears to u derstand the imp of pairs of suga jimin..btw the closing of jin eyes by tae was actually sugas/jimin part..but..he couldnt do it..tae hands are longer and more beautiful so they instantly just said him to do it..its in behind scene

Haha, yes! I saw it in their reaction to this MV... 😂
yep snorts lol

not an accident XD
*BST is definitely J-hope's and Jimin's era. They owned it, especially Hoseok for me. Him doing the comeback trailer, having a center position in BST and main part in the outro was iconic... he killed it*
Yes
Arre bhai its BTS not bst
@@rishibhardwaj7565 I meant BST as in Blood Sweat and Tears, not BTS :')
(I’m not completely sure about who Namjoon and Hoseok play, but I can kinda describe of they’re presence)
Namjoon basically has the role of fear.
Later we see Hoseok shooting an arrow at Taehyung, meaning he tried to ward off the evil inside V (Demian)
Soooo yes, this was some random information about the story and they’re roles.
Thanks for ur info
Yes Jhope & Jk watch the most, they even say that when a their new music video drop they like to watch reactions.

This Jimin made me BTS Fan and especially Big Jimin Biased and I could never Jim-out... the Jimin owned the Wings Era for me ❤❤❤
This is the MV I became an Army. And Jimin. Man jimins effect. Due to Jimin effect I got into BTS.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Same.
Wow, same, but it was the teaser which captured my whole existence. If I could recall, second was boy meets evil. Ohmygod I remembered myself of October 2016.
This MV and Jimin was the introduction to BTS for me.
It's an absolut gem, I never get tired of rewatching it!
MY FAV ERA HOSEOK ERA. HE HAD THE INTRO CENTER AND LINES ON THE TITLE TARCK HIS ICONIC ORANGE HAIR. HIS AMAZING SEXY MOVES !!
@Ash, you nailed it 😜
There is a japanese version of it...just saying!
When it comes to BS&T (wings era tbh) i literally can't even take my eyes off J_hope.. He was stunning the most ❤️
I remember watching a reaction somewhere where a guy said the lines:
"Peaches and cream
Sweeter than sweet
Chocolate cheeks
And chocolate wings"
is actually from books?
All I remember is that the chocolate wings is from Icarus, another story about temptation where Icarus flew too near to the Sun and his chocolate wings melted and he fell.
The "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" appears in the Fake Love choreography.
This video is more based on Demian, while the Japanese mv to this song is very storyline-heavy, be careful watching it on camera, Japanese bts mvs get chopped down very quickly, you can talk abt it with screenshots or put it on Patreon 😊
It'll be on Patreon tomorrow. 😊
I'm Agree with you Daria... The Japanese mv is storyline and heavy.... This video is based of Demian... 💜😇

The painting says the war between good and evil
Jimin always looks stunning in every MV and Perform 🔥🤩
Oh the day is here!! This mv is for sure a masterpiece and probably one of the best mvs I’ve ever seen. Although the song itself is not one of my favs I love the song and mv together

Japanese MV versions of I NEED U, RUN and BS&T have a lot of elements connected to the storyline
All we need now is BTS to perform it live again with complete choreo 😋
For me, Wings is j-hope's era and this is the MV that drew me in the BTS universe 😂
It is so aesthetic and in depth.
Ya jimin and jhope both no1

Great Video People were Shocked this was what they CALLED THEIR NEW GROWN UP Image and WINGS WAS A DEFINING ERA FOR THE GROUP
That's one thing you should watch too 😌
Please do the dance practice of bs&t. Thank you!
You should watch the blood sweat & tears dance practice video too... They're slaying😄💜
So happy that you finally did a reaction to this MV. To me this is their the most seductive song and V’s voice in it-no words. This song is in my top 5.
Watch the theory video of this explanation of blood, sweat and tears!!
7:45 “ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!”
Me: Girl....your soul left your body a long time ago and you didn’t even noticed😂
Blood sweat and tears is about losing one’s innocence

This whole album was so ahead of its time. Pure genius. If you can, I would love to see you react to the dance practice for this (the choreo really matches the storytelling) and the 2016 MAMA performance of Boy Meets Evil parts 1&2 and BS&T. You will just...be blown away.
Your reaction to this MV is priceless. This MV belongs in a museum as an art piece.
Also, the dance practice for this song is amazing and you should definitely check that out if you want to see more of the choreography for this song.
react to its dance practice aswell!!
you should check out the Blood Sweat and Tears comeback live performance.
whoo, now its time to watch their 2016 MAMA performance
The beginning Jimin 🔥🔥
(It’s all about sin and other badly connoted words because in « Demian » again, being aware of the world around him and starting questioning his parents point of view is very scary for the main character, it’s not right, it’s « evil », but at the same time he can’t help but being curious about it.)
That’s also why V has wing scars on his back, it can represent Lucifer, the fallen angel, once God’s favorite but now « evil » because he turned against his father.
In the MV you can see the boys falling into temptation :
Jimin is holding an apple (you already saw an apple in Lie), it’s obviously biblical, the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge.
Yes...do watch a few more times...you know, just to take everything in, lol. It is truly a masterpiece. Glad you finally got to experience this one.

Yay finally! This video was a masterpiece indeed. Cannot wait for more incredible lyrics analysis and content watching with you.
You: Stop it..
Me: I'm always in this mood for them.
Also in an Army magazine article " The arrow hits V and is symbol of his being fallen and losing his wings, he is the representation of Lucifer which is from the painting"
I just love the depth of these videos "the archetypes" and the way you interpret them is so well thought out.
Dionysus was a dream come true.)
I mean, Fall of the Rebel Angels by Bruegel the Elder (the one Jin was looking at in the beginning)? Perseus with the Head of Medusa by Cellini (the black sculpture at the back of the main room)? The Lament for Icarus by Draper (in the background of the room where Jungkook is on the swing - the ceiling painting in that room is a fresco by Quaglio from St. Nicholas' Church in Slovenia), Landscape with the Fall of Icarus (believed to be an anonymous early copy of a lost Bruegel original, the balcony where Tae jumps), Michelangelo's Pieta (the fountain where Hobi was - though it's not an exact replica), the allusion to The Last Supper, the wax and the feathers, the Labyrinth from Young Forever-
And ARMY absolutely lost it circa Black Swan because the CONNECTIONS here to the movie and therefore between the songs, and the implications for the BTS Universe-
I love that you noted the possible connection to the three wise monkeys, since - something to note 😉- it's a point choreography of the Fake Love chorus.
And there's Demian too, I guess. But ART.
BST is my favorite dance practice.
Apples on the plates (last supper/table screen). Love to watch you and your intruption of the video/lyrics. I also love to hear you sing.
Loved your reaction and also you're so pretty 💜 Can you react to 3 j homeparty (JM,JK and J HOPE) dance and JM & JK black or white performance please?
the beginning of jimin's off-shoulder💜
yes!! im glad you watched this already. there's a japanese version of this MV. BST is iconic! 💜
Blood sweat and tears era was the time I died💀
Thank you! 💜💫 I really appreciate your reactions. Can't wait for the next one!
Watch the DANCE PRACTICE of Blood, Sweat and Tears. Amazing.
Coming soon... 😙
After watching BTS videos it comes as no surprise that Bang PD has a degree in Aesthetics.
this era is perfect-
BS&T's jpn version is visually more connected to the BU storyline while the original takes elements / symbolisms from Hesse's Demian about the loss of youth or innocence and also the good vs evil thingy. SUGA & spice has and amazing explanation for mvs- both jpn and kor and the wings short films connection to both the BU and demian.
LOVE how you break everything down!! A small suggestion...you will love the dance practice!! Legendary!! 💜
You know she's in the right direction when she read the lyrics and her source is doolset. 😌
JHOOOOOPEE!!!!!
Jungkook has a secret yt acc in which he once revealed-
And he knew cameron philip omg😳😂
@@andrew.ddrei7 IKR the conflict whether to feel happy or scared I felt- 😨
Yes, I saw that he recognised him when they were listening to fan covers! 😶
@@YouandMe14 Hahaha.. I love you girls, take a look at NeverNot_KookV YT account, her analysis on some bts songs and MVs are mind blowing, it will support some of your own analysis, I see you've got some kind of similarity, lol
@@YouandMe14 Do you have IG account?
Your best reaction yet! So fun watching this again through new eyes. 🥰
Hi Hanna! I'm a bit late but here for your reaction 💜💜
Awesome as always, thanks for your thoughts!
Loss of innocence and fall into temptation, the transition from youth to adulthood is expressed by their actions, drinking, licking candle wax, inhaling smoke, etc., and the last one left was Jin who in the end also gives in and his face cracks.
