Making Fire in the Soaking Wet Woods - Fatwood!

- One secret to make a campfire in really wet conditions is spelled Fatwood! Pine stumps full with resin are usually easy to find, but you'll need an axe to cut it. Here I make a fire in the Firebox stove, and fill the kettle with snow to make coffee. A great relaxing day in the woods!

Hello everyone who are watching the Erik videos . It is a pleasure for me share the same attitude for the nature and the simplicity . Thanks Erik
The shots of the evergreens wrapped in snow and ice . Beautiful.
Short, Sweet, but very important lesson in bush crafting, Great job Erik as usual.
One of the most holy moment. Drinking coffee outdoor in snow. Stay healthy, Erik.
I love how Eric captures the true essence of nature, in his videos, while showcasing his bushcraft skills. I love the aroma of fatwood when first cut. Makes me want to head to the woods.
I enjoy hearing the Swedish language. It brings fond memories of my great grandmother in the kitchen brewing Swedish coffee and giving us kids her homemade ginger cookies! Thanks for another great video. Erik!
Brilliant Sharing great man! Lot of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker from the Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
The "The very cool and calm" Erik! Very soothing outing!!
Fatwood ( Lighter knot , Heart wood ) is always a good fire starter. Here in Florida we use the heart section of a dead pine tree or stump. The outer section rots away leaving the hard center. It's amber in color and smells like solidified turpentine. One trip in the Okefenokee Swamp it was raining and cold , a cold hard rain. A fire of the fat wood was built and we had a nice warm fire while in the rain. It's a nice fire but smokey with lots of soot , not good for cooking a meal over.
A great relaxing day in the Woods You say.
Coffee drinking in Sweden. Part 127. Never getting old. :D

Erik had breakfast with you, wanted to ask for coffee, but did not have time to find his mug, as you left.... Thanks for the breakfast together.👍👍👍
I like the tiny sit pad. I don’t drink coffee nor tea but I do like the ritual of preparation. Thank you Erik…
It’s about time Trangia brought out a special edition ‘Erik’ kettle 👍☕️
Anyone that goes out in the “wilderness” should be able to start a fire in bad conditions. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Just got back from my own walk to find another gem from Erik. Another photograph? of the lichen on rock with snow. These are stunning photographs that need to printed and sold on your own website Erik. Limited edition and signed - yes please! ☕️👍
