Different culture. Over there, they would be shocked at the behaviour of the girl. People need to remember that something which may be ok to you is not ok to other people. Personally, I don't understand why someone would sign up to go to another country and obey the rules of another household, then get upset when those rules aren't their own. Respect the law of the land. The girl was in the wrong because she was disobeying the rules of that environment. You can't go somewhere and tell everyone to speak your language, unless you're there to colonise and impose your beliefs.

@@sntt3404 The person with the problem was the girl. If you go to another country by choice and are hurt by the rules of the land, that's YOUR fault. She could've just refused to do the programme instead of getting offended by their customs. The truth is, women who do that in those countries are viewed as prostitutes. Girls who do that stuff are taken advantage of and don't have the level of infrastructure we have in the UK to help them when they fall victim to the dangers of life. The mother was simply protecting her. Back home, she can take advantage of the systems that keep her safe without her having to do anything. In Africa, that same mentality and behaviour can very quickly destroy your life. Before judging people, maybe look at the context of where they are and why they take those stances.
