Let this be a wake up call to everyone who doesn't realize you are destroying your car with gig work and that cars are disgustingly expensive right now both new/used.

Absolutely! I dashed for 3 months while looking for a new job. In that time I has to do engine work, trans work, replace a transfer case, fix a major oil leak on my main vehicle. When I parked my Jeep/daily driver and started driving our extra vehicle that lasted about 2 weeks before a transmission line blew and a river of trans fluid poured out from under the vehicle. So yeah, 2 vehicles that I had to take off the road in 3 months. Thank God my husband is a mechanic, even then it's not even close to being worth the wear and tear.

That's what I'm doing right now. The fuss of having to schedule a time slot, just to waste time in not getting any orders or in getting trash orders? I have been thinking about this for several months now and I have been holding myself back for too long. Okay, I may have to work a W-2 job, but it has come to this point. At the end of the day, we have a family and/or ourselves to provide. And the way these gig apps have been operating in the last several months, these platforms, even if one has multiple apps turned on, have become unsustainable. I am in the process of turning this page over and looking for other opportunities to make money, even if means not dealing with the apps anymore. The gig apps have been a waste of time, waste of energy, a waste of resources, frustrating, and unsustainable. Time to go back to a W-2 job. So be it at that.

When you put nothing but negative energy into the world daily (trying to roast customers for what they've ordered on a daily basis), negative energy comes right back your way. I've watched for a while now and I've heard the "This is just a stepping stone". When are you going to go to the next stone? You've been saying you can make money elsewhere, yet you're still doing the same thing. Bet on yourself, and take the next step. Prove to yourself you can do what you've been saying you can. I used to do gig work full time for 2 years. Now I work for the state as a construction inspector. My social life has been healthier, love live healthier, heath overall healthier. I took my next step to better my future. Right now it seems you're just complacent and stuck and not willing to take your next step.

I think the whole "stepping stone" segment was him trying to branch away from delivery content and realized he's type casted by youtube as the Delivery guy. A few other delivery youtube guys tried to branch away and it was committing channel suicide. Nuggs tried to do a whole different channel and I'd imagine it's demoralizing going back to square one so I think he gave up on that. Pedro probably can't make whatever content he wants without taking a huge pay cut and probably ruining this channel in the process so, dammed if you do, and dammed if you don't kinda situation. The only way to survive on gig apps currently is probably subsidizing the below min wage pay with youtube money, and when your over it on both ends, it's looking like a nightmare scenario. Gig work is in a terrible spot, no money to be made, and no more youtube views rolling in on it, so the money is just constantly falling on both sides. He probably wants out but nowhere to go.

Pedro my brother, if your at that point where your literally recording yourself like that, you need to swallow your pride and seriously consider going back to a w2 job. I'm not being mean but you have a family to think about, so you might want to consider it. There's no shame in that. If you do decide to stick it out, try to get a 2nd vehicle. I got rear ended almost a month ago in Ohio which the person didn't stop and if it wasn't for my wife having a vehicle I would been screwed. If you stick with gig work, you should at the very least consider getting a 2nd vehicle. Also look into getting a Hyundai. The Hyundai I had was very reliable until I got hit.

There's a cheat code for this work that the vast majority of people know about but don't take advantage of. The #1 thing you can do to increase your profits in this line of work, nothing else can even compare, is sell your gas guzzling SUV and get a late 3rd gen Toyota Prius with low miles. 50 miles per gallon, maintenance and repair costs are massively lower than EVs and you don't have to sit there for 30 mins to an hour when you stop at the gas station. If you have less cargo space than the SUV, it is not much less at all, Prius has a ton of cargo space.
Do as much work on your own car as you can. Get an OBDII scan tool and learn to use it. Oil changes are the most routine maintenance thing you'll have to do, never ever ever take your car to a shop for them. Get tires at Discount Tires so you get free rotation and balance for the rest of the life of the tire.
Get rid of your gas guzzling SUVs if you do this work and get a Toyota Prius. Nothing else you could possibly do will increase your earnings as much as this.

Its cool don't get me wrong but having a mind set like that will keep some trapped in this loop. Find work that works with you and not against you. Don't look down, look up....sure theres obstacles on the way up but if you thug it out long enough you will reach the top.

Not to mention the $4K it costs to do the timing chains which will need to be done near 100,000 miles. Also these cars are known for having weird electrical issues like your having. I used our Enclave for delivery recently and missed an Instacart order. After I missed it I hit the steering wheel and the damn service traction light came on. Like I said weird electrical issues.
