It was so fun to take you all along on this declutter! I hope you enjoy the video and get some motivation and outfit ideas from it! *ALSO!!!!! Every shoe shown in this video was clean and sanitized! I'd never put dirty shoes worn in public on my bed! I thought this would go without saying but there are so many concerned and passionate comments here!* 😅
Hi Natalie! I have enjoyed your videos. We live in South Texas and I don’t really wear warm sweaters. I would love to, but I feel the weather doesn’t get cool enough. Did you place the items you mentioned anywhere? I love your flannel shirt and am interested in the secondhand sites you mentioned.
The rule that I "break" as a minimalist is that I have a whole library full of books. I love them and won't part! Lovely video💜 Weather in Germany in autumn is windy and rainy, and some days crisp air with nice warm sunshine to enjoy the nice nature change 🍁🍂🌾🍃
I woke up at 4 am. It's currently 10:10 am. And in that amount of time.. I Decluttered a big bag of more clothes, 4 purses and 7 pairs of shoes!! Tidied my space, took our trash out. Since we moved a few months ago, my minimalism kicked into overdrive! I habe decluttered 35+ bags of clothes. And because of your personality I will binge watch your videos for inspiration while cleaning, organizing and decluttering!
I've been working at home since the pandemic and it gets a little lonely but every monday, it just feels like I'm at a friends house watching them sort things while I'm having a coffee on the sofa. Thank you.
I thought I was one of few people that found relaxation in declutter. Glad I'm not alone. Love the tunes as well. Also would love a make up tutorial or get ready with me. Thanks again for everything. Stay safe, stay happy, and stay blessed.
My minimalist "rule breaking": I have so many clothes. Like probably 400+ items in a variety of color, textures, and cuts. But in line with minimalism and eco minimalism, I know what all of them are. They're all organized, visible, mostly thrifted, good quality, and get used. Clothes give me a lot of joy but I don't just purchase and let things become chaotic
I loved your comments on "If it ain't broke don't fix it." I'm going to quote Cass from the "Clutterbug" channel- "We often feel like a failure when we try to use an organizing system that doesn't fit our personal organizing style." Keep at girl! You know yourself and what works!
Love these videos!! Would love to see the no-mess declutter method!! My “rule-breaking” of minimalism is keeping “trash”/recyclables in hopes to use them for crafts or organization or something... which I sometimes do and sometimes don’t.
Me too 🤣 I think in some ways it's better to hold onto craft supplies because you never know what you may do with them and you can't necessarily buy that stuff again 🤔
I wear 80% of my wardrobe year-round, so I have several cardigans I throw on over my t-shirts. I also have a thick long-sleeved tunic I love to wear which has dinosaurs all over it.
I’ve binged all of your “messy to minimal” videos and they inspired me to start with my closet. I cleaned out anything I haven’t worn in over a year and now I have a huge pile that I want to try and sell on Mercari. The process of getting the clutter out of my house is the hardest for me and I don’t know why. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration. ❤️
I've always had a more minimal and frugal mindset. Since purchasing our first home in July, my husband and I have decluttered and donated about a third of what we owned. What we bring in new is almost entirely second hand, with some exceptions on investment furniture and electronics. Your videos have been such an inspiration to that process. You have also inspired me to create "home videos" that I post to UA-cam and share with family. I recently made one for my brother who is leaving for a 6 month deployment with the US Navy that was very special. No desire to be an influencer or make a career from it, but the memories are so cherished! I can't wait to look back on them with my own children some day. The rule I break is owning a lot of books and shoes! I love to read and hardly ever part with a book. And shoes.... I'd like to say that I need a large variety to fit my hobbies, hiking, running, and weight lifting both require specialty shoes and having a job that is both incredibly active, but also professional requires variety as well. Pre-Covid I often wore one pair when working with students that would afford me comfort, but would also be okay if they got muddy or scuffed and brought a second pair to wear to meetings and presentations. But honestly, those are all just nice excuses. Truth is, I just love them, have a (mostly) organized space for them, and have had many pairs for 5+ years!
I do functional minimalism. I still have stuff, but I try to keep only things that I actually use. Clothes, books, jewelry, decor etc. I can’t do what some people deem “true minimalism” where you only have like, one spoon, one fork, one glass etc. lol...😁
I cleaned out my clothes this weekend but really struggled getting rid of Summer stuff that I didn't wear this Summer because I didn't leave the house all that much! Definitely due a review next year. I LOVE snuggly jumpers and that's one thing I'd really struggle to downsize!
The full view of your closet is almost as nice as the pantry! While I am not a minimalist, I do try to live simply so seeing your black and brown reminds me of my pants. I only buy black, navy and gray, whether it be dress pants, sweats or jeans. Then every top works with every pant and I need just black, navy, and red shoes and boots. Makes life so simple! Thanks for another thoughtful and well done video.
I think it's a misconception that the Kon Mari method of organizing and Minimalism are the same. They aren't. You can be a maximalist and use the Kon Mari organizing system, and you can only have 2 pairs of pants and not need any system of organization.
I totally agree! My spiel about doing what works for you wasn't really about the Kon Mari method specifically. It was more about other UA-cam videos that we watch that act like the Kon Mari (or any other method) is the only WAY to live as a minimalist!
You know what I like about your videos? :D Seems like you have just declutered and reorganised your closet, and here you are back again and again, because it's real life!! I feel like regardless how awesome I organise whatever spot in my house, the hot spots get out of hand quite quickly and you need to go back and redecltter and tidy it quite often to stay on top of things. Couple of years ago I would feel guilty of me not keeping it together after I organised it so well. But now I am accepting it just as part of life, its just what it it, hot spots need to be tidied and reorganised quite often since you use it EVERY day :) Just so relatable))
Yes please do more outfit videos. Incorporate types of boots and jackets/coats please. I live in CO and layering is a must and I can’t do boots with heels due to bad back.
Decluttering is no problem , except for my books, I have a whole room of them! And they stay 😉 Autum in Germany is windy and rainy, about 10° C Greetings, Lexie
Glad to see I'm not the only one that likes speaking to myself! My grandfather used to say that if you talk to yourself, you enjoy good company! :) I'm all the way in Cape Town, South Africa, and it is starting to warm up here. Cape Town weather is pretty similar to Seattle weather in that you can also get all 4 seasons in one day, but one can sense that summer is on the horizon. Love your videos.
I'm loving the colours and knits you have here. The burgundies, biscuits and texture is lovely. It's definitely autumn here now. Crunchy leaves, that October scent in the air and bright blue skies. Not long and it will be raining every day here in Devon.
Natalie, one thing you could do for the hair ties is put a shower ring/hook around the clothes rod in your closet you can just leave the ring open and slide your hair accessories around the ring/hook and you could use multiple ones.
I love the "declutter at the speed of life" method. No time for all the mess... thankful for the progress even when I get distracted partway through my goals. I "break the rules" with all my books, DVDs, and musical instruments and sheet music :D (probably bags too, but they are all different!)
I watched half of this video when Natalie put it out, but wanted to save it and watch it all again now (a few days later) on a day I planned to declutter! It's snowing here in BC, Canada and I'm enjoying a cozy declutter sesh with you Natalie!
I'm a relatively new subscriber thanks to UA-cam suggesting some of your newer videos. I've just started watching the messy to minimal series from the beginning and its really amazing to see what you started with for a closet as recently as February.
I know I wasn't the only one yelling at the screen for Natalie to label the bins up top....lol. You have no idea how much stress released from my shoulders when I saw you did! Phew!
Your so inspirational! One thing I might add from experience is to thread a few needles with your basic colors of thread to do minor repairs to clothes while putting away for the season. Looking forward to more of your videos. One drawer at a time!!
I am definitely not a minimalist, but I still do hate clutter......I get totally motivated to go through my things when watching others declutter and organize.
Decluttering at the Speed of Life by Dana K. White. Fantastic resource! I believe that is the source from which Dawn at the Minimal Mom drew. I'm loving that book! It's allowing me to make more declutterng progress than I'd ever imagined possible!
I love your videos ❤️ I'm not really a minimalist but you've inspired me too declutter my closet and other sections of my bedroom. I had so many shoes that I kept and never wore, too many clothes that filled all my drawers and closet. I have condensed my closet to the pieces I really love to wear. Donated and gave my sister all my old pieces of tops that I wore constantly for years. I also have brown flats and black ones to wear with different outfits or my dresses. I love your style ❤️
The closets look like mirror images. Weather in VA is mild. Cool mornings. I wear shorts all year in the house and flip flop style shoes out year round, much to my husband's chagrin. I don't do outfits. I wear whatever is next in line to wear.
Weather is Canada is something like this☀️ 🍁 🍂 🌧 ❄️ 🥶 it goes from beautiful and sunny to freezing rain/snow pretty quick! Your video of cleaning out Westons closet motivated my husband and I to clean out of dressers and closets his weekend and we probably got rid of 70% of our clothing! 🙌🏼 So refreshing to be organized and not cluttered
I consider myself to be minimally minded... but my collection of nail polishes I just can’t give up! I’ve had them for about ten years and I just love to look at them and use [most of] them ❤️
Minnesota: ❄️ 🥶 fall has pretty much left the building and we are into early winter. I also like to talk to myself while decluttering, I talk as if I’m volging 😂
Best part of my week!!!! Loved all the fall style inspo Natalie! The minimalist “rule” I break is keeping lots of books from my childhood that I have such fond memories of! Remembering the stories and characters I grew up with brings such nostalgia and hope to pass the same stories on to my kids one day! Thanks for being a light and image- bearer in all you do! ✨
I own multiple of the exact same shirt, all in black. I only wear black and it is my favorite shirt. I wear the same shirt every day and I personally love it. I love having a uniform. I also have 4 black ripped denim jeans because of the exact same reason.
Where I live in England it varies some days its ☁️ or 🌥️ or 🌦️ or 🌧️which is today's weather. Love your videos make me want to sort my clothes to remove the summer items 😁
I am not a minimalist, but definitely wanting to declutter quite a bit so that I'm close to minimalism. Feeling motivated! I'd have to say if I was, I'd never get rid of all my spices, I have A LOT!! lol
The only room that is not minimal in my house is the kitchen because food and cooking are everything 🥰 the weather in German is 🍁🍂🍄🌧🌬 Have a wonderful fall and stay safe 🌈
My minimalist rule that I break is technically having two “wardrobes”. I work an outside type job that requires outdoor friendly clothing, but I only wear those clothes to work. I’ll never be able to do the “capsule wardrobe” thing because of that, although I would say I have two capsule wardrobes because I try to keep both sections to just what I need, and said I have to do a midweek load of laundry, so be it.
The weather here in northern NY is cool, crisp and gorgeous. The leaves are past peak but still stunning. I have been a “minimalist” for about three years now. Started as necessity as I have a plenty big enough house but filled it with people lol. I have seven kiddos. So I started decluttering slowly in bedrooms and moved from there. We are comfortable now and clean up time is a snap. I am a habitual rule breaker (homeschooler and home birther) so I do what fits me and my family. My kitchen is smallish so had to really declutter that and live with just what I need. We have no dishwasher and even though I make all our bread and meals you won’t find any large equipment like a stand mixer etc. it works for ME and that’s all that matters. I also have book shelves in any nook and cranny my talented hubby could build them so I don’t appear “minimalist” in the book category. 😊 Love this channel and the inspiration you give. ~Janelle
Fall starts in august here in Alaska! We have lots of cold weather clothes. We even keep some of it out in the summer. I will be doing a fall declutter this year 😊
Ciao from Italy, usually i buy only natural material clothes but while lived in UK both some synthetic sweaters so now i'm going to sew pillows from them 😛 also refashioned a lot of my husbands jeans actually wearing them😜 little by little trying to organise things, your canal helps me as well in this journey thx and continue ciao😘
Not even done watching, but yesss to doing what works for you even if it conflicts with conventional minimalism rules! Sometimes I feel arbitrary "guilt" for keeping repetitive things, but, if you use them, then great! All of my shoes are the same color. I have so many neutral items regardless of item. We like what we like 😆! Our pantry is stocked, I have more clothes than a minimalist would have, we have more toys, but we're intentional in using everything :). Your video was super motivating!
Hi Natalie! I’m a new sub and I love your channel! You have such a sweet spirit and your down to earth approach of home making and minimalism is SO my style. I’ve always felt I land somewhere in-between minimalism and maximalism, lol! I love organizing, decluttering and editing, but I also treasure the collection of items my husband and I have! I’m no expert but I love the question Marie Kondo asks, “Does it spark joy?” So girl, if both cardigans spark joy, you’ve got no explaining to do! According to most standards, I have too many mugs and glassware, but I have a large family and I love seeing each of them pick out which one they like best when I host. You’re right, only YOU know what works best for your life. I consider the minimalism lifestyle a great guide & I think the more you can love what you already have, the better! Thanks for the inspiration! I’d love to see more recipes and maybe a Fall/Winter favorites video? ❤️
Where I live the fall is usually dry and hot, the temperature can change a lot in the same day like morning: 15°C afternoon: 29°C night:20°C. Pretty much every day.
i'm in the UK and loving your videos . Been de cluttering and downsizing this year but the rule i have to break is my jumpers (sweaters) as i have thin knits to chunky knits inc 4 sweatshirts but they will get worn a lot as our weather and temperature is forever changing . My basic rule for my clothes are blue tones / light grey and cream / white and a i love a stripe as they are the colours i feel suit me best .
Can’t wait for the premiere! Your videos are such a highlight of my Mondays 💕 Thank you for sharing your light and your life with all of us. May God bless you and your family always, Natalie!
It is above normal temps for us in Northern Maine. We are in the 50s during the day. I decluttered and organized my closet last Friday night and had my mom go through what I didn't want and will sell or donate the rest. Peak leaf peeping season has gone by for us. You said it stretches the neck out when you put your sweater on a hanger. Put the hangar through the bottom of the sweater and it won't stretch the neck out. I don't hang my sweaters either as I don't like the bumps on the shoulders either.
Northern England ☔🌂🌬🌥🌞 all in one day sometimes! I have very few clothes, autumn and winter is summer clothing with a cardigan or jumper and scarf on 😂
I love everything about this video, your closet organisation and in particular your outfit choices. I am trying to implement a more minimilaist approach to my bedroom organisation and have donated a bag full of items a week ago, I love the feeling of decluttering and passing on unwanted and unused items to those who will make use out of it. Going to attempt my make-up next since we are in the middle of a pandemic and I'm not reaching for a lot of what I have. Thank you for these inspirational videos Natalie. I hope you and family are staying safe and keeping well x
Loved this video! I am a maximalist! I so desperately wanted to be a minimalist when the konmari method blew up.. but that’s not me. And that’s okay 😀 something I have taken from minimalism though, is that if I don’t LOVE something - it goes! Just liking something isn’t enough to keep it around! I’m still on the journey of decluttering and learning what I love and what I like, and can de clutter - so my maximalist collection is more minimal 😂
It was so fun to take you all along on this declutter! I hope you enjoy the video and get some motivation and outfit ideas from it!
*ALSO!!!!! Every shoe shown in this video was clean and sanitized! I'd never put dirty shoes worn in public on my bed! I thought this would go without saying but there are so many concerned and passionate comments here!* 😅
Moving and can't afford my own internet so will miss your videos xoxoxxo
Gonna miss your vlogs thanks for the fun xoxoxxo moving and no internet and can't afford own xoxo will have u on instagram
Hi Natalie! I have enjoyed your videos. We live in South Texas and I don’t really wear warm sweaters. I would love to, but I feel the weather doesn’t get cool enough. Did you place the items you mentioned anywhere? I love your flannel shirt and am interested in the secondhand sites you mentioned.
@@terriratliff9638 I have links to similar items in my description box! You can always check out Mercari and Poshmark for second hand stuff too!
sorry i always miss the premiere im in school

The rule that I "break" as a minimalist is that I have a whole library full of books. I love them and won't part!
Lovely video💜
Weather in Germany in autumn is windy and rainy, and some days crisp air with nice warm sunshine to enjoy the nice nature change 🍁🍂🌾🍃
Books! I love them and own a library of them also.
Can relate 😍🤣
Oh yes, have four bookshelves full. :)
Mine is aquarium stuff. Love keeping fish too much
It's so difficult for me to part with my books.
Amazing work!!!!! 🙌🏻
The minimalist “rule” I break is owning more bags and purses than I need. I have about fifteen, but they’re all favorites and bring me joy!
There you are! I love your videos!
I've been working at home since the pandemic and it gets a little lonely but every monday, it just feels like I'm at a friends house watching them sort things while I'm having a coffee on the sofa. Thank you.
Same!
I thought I was one of few people that found relaxation in declutter. Glad I'm not alone. Love the tunes as well. Also would love a make up tutorial or get ready with me. Thanks again for everything. Stay safe, stay happy, and stay blessed.

The minimalist rule I break most is my huge book collection😄I love them so much
The rule I break is mugs! I have 7 mugs and I never use any of them. But they're so pretty, having them makes me happy.
Same! I love mugs, especially unique pottery ones, but I never drink hot beverages at home 🤦♀️
I wear 80% of my wardrobe year-round, so I have several cardigans I throw on over my t-shirts. I also have a thick long-sleeved tunic I love to wear which has dinosaurs all over it.

Minimalism has no rules, rather guidelines to apply, if applicable to ones current life.
Thank you for sharing✌💛☺
You could try to put a dot of hot glue on of the “tie hanger” to give grip or on the ends as stopper so that whatever is on it doesn’t slip off.
I love the no mess cleaning/declutter method! A slob comes clean is who introduced it to me and works so well! She has great books and a podcast!

Yes, actually, please share/post a video about decluttering without a mess! ❤️ the snap effect! 👩🏻🍳🤗
Going back watching your older videos I love this! I love you showing us your style and how to use have a minimal wardrobe such an inspiration!!
Natalie, you are just so relatable. Thank you for keeping it real and inspiring those of us who do continue to reuse pieces from year to year.
Just made some coffee and my 2 year old is still sleeping 😴🙏 Starting this week off with inspiration from Natalie! 🎉
Currently decluttering my coffee pot while watching. 😄 Love you!🥰
Love you too, Mama!
I love your mostly neutral pallet. Certainly helps with wearing what you have because it all mixes and matches so well.
I LOVE snuggly jumpers and that's one thing I'd really struggle to downsize!
a little warmer than usual, which is awesome for those last minute outdoor projects that we didn't do
I am a minimalist but have an extensive pantry. I am so productive when I watch your videos thank you. You are appreciated
I used to feel guilty about it too until I realized the Golden rule of Decluttering- each space takes maintenance to see it through!
Yes please do more outfit videos. Incorporate types of boots and jackets/coats please. I live in CO and layering is a must and I can’t do boots with heels due to bad back.
Decluttering is no problem , except for my books, I have a whole room of them! And they stay 😉

I watched Minimal Mom's video. I do that method for all the reasons she points out AND for the extra steps I get in :)
Natalie, one thing you could do for the hair ties is put a shower ring/hook around the clothes rod in your closet you can just leave the ring open and slide your hair accessories around the ring/hook and you could use multiple ones.
Rolling method is great too! For pants/jeans
I’m a minimalist with way too many shoes. I’m obsessed. I can’t help it🙈
It was me! Thanks for shout out @20:13. Looks SO good! Such rewarding hard work Natalie! 🥰
The weather near Barcelona is ☀️☀️/❄️❄️
The difference between morning and afternoon is awesome these days
I love the "declutter at the speed of life" method. No time for all the mess... thankful for the progress even when I get distracted partway through my goals.
I "break the rules" with all my books, DVDs, and musical instruments and sheet music :D (probably bags too, but they are all different!)
Just wanted to say I love the chair you have at your desk. What a beautiful, unique piece!
I felt the same way about stretching my clothes over hangers. I started using children’s hangers and it works surprisingly well!
🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶 weather here has been snowing and about 20 degrees for last week+
Closet clean-outs are so fun. Thanks Natalie!
I watched half of this video when Natalie put it out, but wanted to save it and watch it all again now (a few days later) on a day I planned to declutter! It's snowing here in BC, Canada and I'm enjoying a cozy declutter sesh with you Natalie!

Barcelona’s weather is basically ☀️🌬🌦 in autumn and lots of 🍄🍄🍄!
I am definitely not a minimalist, but I still do hate clutter......I get totally motivated to go through my things when watching others declutter and organize.
Inspired again! Thanks Natalie! The one black and one brown/light shoe got me motivated 💗
Decluttering at the Speed of Life by Dana K. White. Fantastic resource! I believe that is the source from which Dawn at the Minimal Mom drew. I'm loving that book! It's allowing me to make more declutterng progress than I'd ever imagined possible!
Love your take on minimalism and how much sun you have in your bedroom! I totally want to get a fall brimmed hat!
I have 5 denim jackets and I'm not letting even one go ❤️
I love your videos ❤️ I'm not really a minimalist but you've inspired me too declutter my closet and other sections of my bedroom. Love the panned our shot of both closets. So satisfying and semetrical haha. It looks amazing!!
Yay for symmetry!!!
@@NatalieBennett and I knew my spelling looked wrong lol 😆 thanks haha!
Thursdays are a great option for Chelsea boots!
Such a soothing video! Love your colors and aesthetic! 🌴🥶🌄
I consider myself to be minimally minded... but my collection of nail polishes I just can’t give up! I’ve had them for about ten years and I just love to look at them and use [most of] them ❤️
ahhh! Nail polish! It's so easy to havea. big collection! I have too many that I don't use right now!
We have the same weather, neighbor! Totally enjoying the weather before we hit winter! 🥶 and the leaves 🍁 are so beautiful! Loved the vid!
Kentucky weather ☁️🌧🌬🍂🍃🍃🍁🥀😭 I love spring and summer! I’m solar powered!! Really dreading winter 🥶
Minnesota: ❄️ 🥶 fall has pretty much left the building and we are into early winter. I also like to talk to myself while decluttering, I talk as if I’m volging 😂
Spring in the southern hemisphere! Greetings from a gloomy Melbourne morning regardless of the season. 🌷🌸🌦
Love The Minimal Mom! It'd be great to see you clean out a section of your home using her no mess method and compare with how you usually do things :)
I LOVE black in my wardrobe! Always have!
Where I live in England it varies some days its ☁️ or 🌥️ or 🌦️ or 🌧️which is today's weather. Love your videos make me want to sort my clothes to remove the summer items 😁
I think it’s east to say we just love you, your videos and the dressers are so simple and lovely
Love this channel and the inspiration you give.

Fall starts in august here in Alaska! We have lots of cold weather clothes. We even keep some of it out in the summer. I will be doing a fall declutter this year 😊
yes i would love to see the no mess declutter method!!! i loved dawns video, and would like to see how it works for you!
Been trying to declutter so I like videos that can motivate me! So thanks 🤗 the weather in Florida 🏖💥👙still ! Can't wait till it's cooler
I love my circle belt hanger for hanging hair ties and ribbons
Yes no mess clean . I saw the other videos , I forgot all ready
I would never wear what you wear but omg it is so cute on you!!! I could never
Where I live the fall is usually dry and hot, the temperature can change a lot in the same day like morning: 15°C afternoon: 29°C night:20°C. Pretty much every day.
Currently in Sapulpa, OK.. 46° and cloudy. Perfect for snuggling into a blanket with some hot tea and a good book. ❤
i'm in the UK and loving your videos .
Leaves are falling and it's rainy and cold, perfect autumn weather here in France 🍁🍂
Weather here in 🇮🇪☘️ is 🌧️🍃🍂🍁☔🌫️ with the odd day of 🌤️
It is above normal temps for us in Northern Maine.
I have very few clothes, autumn and winter is summer clothing with a cardigan or jumper and scarf on 😂
Love this, especially the detail of the video and how classic and curated your wardrobe is :) :)
I literally just start clean out my closet... 🌞🔥 ( hot weather) & ⛈(sometimes) in Malaysia..
In South Alabama, fall is 🔥☀️
I would love a no mess declutter video. I love dawn.
I am SO happy you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching, Souad!

No fall here, spring 👙👗👕🥽🐣🌺🐚🌈☀️🍉🍦
Loved this video! I am a maximalist! I so desperately wanted to be a minimalist when the konmari method blew up.. but that’s not me. And that’s okay 😀 something I have taken from minimalism though, is that if I don’t LOVE something - it goes! Just liking something isn’t enough to keep it around! I’m still on the journey of decluttering and learning what I love and what I like, and can de clutter - so my maximalist collection is more minimal 😂
Levi's wedgie fit are the greatest jeans of all time for shorter ladies! I'm 5'2 and they're my favorite. They're the only jeans that fit me well.
