Thank you very much for this very well presented review. Have been considering an Envi and now i can feel comfortable installing one. You have a kind heart and a beautiful cat.
Thank you very much for your review! I was starting to get worried about the smell, but now i know it will go away! It is probably due to the oil protecting the metal plates inside the heater during storage.
Awesome review, thanks. I honestly don't like forced air heating solutions and this is an interesting product. Your review was definitely a lot better than the other ones out there and it was informative regarding the things that mattered (does it work and safety)
First thank you sincerely for the nice comment. Temperatures as low as 22 F overnight and heater still maintains low 70s temperature in room so far so good. When it gets really cold I’m going to give another quick review with the results.
@@MiamiCOIndiana I'm currently using x2 Radiator heaters I grabbed from Menards from $49 a piece. When we dipped to -27 the house stayed at around 72F, so this product should perform similar if not better than those. The 2 units will wire into the electrical box to keep them isolated, the housing units are under 1000 sq ft, so this was an interesting find especially since most solutions create a fire concern. Thanks for the response and look forward to your next review.
Thanks for the great review! I have what might sound like a strange question, the only place in our bedroom is right next to the bed on my girlfriends side. Does the thermostat have an audible click on and off as it cylces through the night? She is very noise sensitive when asleep. Have had other passive heaters, the clicking thermostat drive her crazy, lol. Looking for something completely quiet. Thanks for your time!
Hate to tell you this but the heater does make a click when thermostat turns the heater on or off. Although it isn’t very loud at all you can still hear it. Other than that it is totally silent. The light will even dim on the unit when you turn off the lights in the room. So if she’s very sensitive to the “click” sound and it would be nearest to her, I would look for maybe a low watt panel heater, but note it will continuously run but would not have any sound whatsoever.
Thank you for the video. Did the thermostat plug come with the unit? Or did you purchase that after market? Also, have you tried using a smart plug to operate the unit remotely? Thank you!
The heater has a built in manual thermostat next to the on/off button. I had it only for video purposes plugged into a watt meter to show the wattage of the heater. Thus I don’t use the plug in thermostat however it is available to purchase separately when you order a heater. And a smart plug should work fine with the heater. Hope this helps thanks for watching!
The Envi heater is better than the rest, IMO 🤗 A true low wattage appliance. I think adding a plug-in thermostat would make it ideal! Once installed, the Envi heater produces heat immediately! Amazing
You should look into a LG dual inverter window air conditioner for summer, instead of using your central ac. A mini split would be even better at ultra efficient both heat an cool, but the dual inverter will be great for your small house. I recommend the LG’s over the Midea U’s as the LG dual inverters have superior humidity removal over the Midea’s which don’t do to well at lower frequencies.
What happened to your home comfort heater? I just happened to nocltice you had the edenpure back in operation. Nice video on the wall heater. Really considering getting one.
Still have my home comfort and still works great. I got a deal on the replacement bulbs for my edenpure heater and wanted to give it a test. It’s putting out heat just like when it was brand new again. I felt since this is the way I heat I should have a back up heater ready to go just in case.
Nice to hear! These do seem to work great in bedrooms and a big plus low energy consumption and no noise. It got down to 11 F few nights ago and room stayed at 72.
The Envi heater is better than the rest, IMO 🤗 A true low wattage appliance. I think adding a plug-in thermostat would make it ideal! Once installed, the Envi heater produces heat immediately! Amazing
Hello! Thank you for posting such a great review on this heater. Curious if you would answer a question. If the power were to be unplugged and then plugged back in (or lets say a loss of power that comes back on), does the heater self-power back on? I see from other comments, the temp will still be set as it's manual, but didn't really answer the self-power back on once power is reconnected. Thanks again! 😁
If power is disconnected from heater when power is restored it will turn back on and start heating at the same settings. This heater is totally manual operation which I actually like mainly for this reason.
Do you think this would work well in a small laundry room? On the very cold winter days my laundry room gets very cold and I've had my water lines freeze in the walls around that room before. Trying to find a heater to help keep that room a touch warmer. Thanks!
I would think this would work in your situation and use minimal power consumption. It is rated to heat an area up to 150 sq ft. Now note they now make both the standard Envi heater 500 watts like you saw in this video but also make the Envi max at 1000 watts which would be twice the cost to run but would heat nearly double the area. My standard Envi works perfect in my application in a 100 sq foot room (10x10) with the door closed. Even below zero last winter room stayed at 70 degrees.
Would this heater work good in a kitchen? My natural gas heater went out in my kitchen and right now it is -1 outside and 49 in my house. I'm trying to find something that wouldn't trip the braker and low on the eletric bill..
First thing this heater should not trip a breaker unless that circuit is already to it’s maximum This heater only draws 500 watts. Every situation is different the Envi is designed to heat a room up to around 130 sq feet. Now that is a CLOSED room with good insulation. I would say it should certainly help in your kitchen but can’t say it will definitely heat your kitchen there are just to many variables. Hope it warms up soon so you don’t have to live in a cold home and find a solution soon. Hope this helps some.
The only thing I run in my kitchen is a fregerater. I use a one eyeburner to cook on. My kitchen is the size of a medium size bedroom perfect for my family of four. I'm looking at different options such as the ethic heater and a wood burning stove that is multi purpose heating and cooking.. I work 12 hr shifts so I don't get much time to do my research lol
Hi! Do you have any info on how it works in terms of on/off I want to make this appliance smart and need to know if a temp controlled smart outlet would be able to turn it on off automatically.
I would think that would work. I do know the company sells a thermostat you plug into the wall then plug the heater into it. My best advice is to ask the manufacturer which you can do by going to their website eheat.com and using the chat option that is available.
@@aaaaadrian It uses a Manuel thermostat so as long as you leave it where it was set you can turn it off and on or even unplug it and plug it back in and it will stay at same setting.
I got a deal on the 6 pack replacement bulbs for the Edenpure and was testing them out. I still plan on switching back to my home comfort when it gets colder. I figured it was wise to have a spare infrared heater on hand just in case since that is my heat source during winter.
Well I gotta still pay the bills. Only run it overnight about 8 hours runs about 50% of the time so is using about 4KW per night or 48 cents per night to operate which is about what I expected.
I'm sorry to say I got an envi heater a few months ago and had it installed recently. It's very quiet, but it does not warm efficiently. It only heats up the wall where it is mounted.
This is the best review for this heater I've seen. I am considering getting one, and interestingly enough, it's also for a cat's room. So since you've had yours for a year now, how did it perform?
Performs perfectly no issues at all. Kept room at 72 degrees even on the coldest winter nights. Keep in mind the room I’m using it in is only 100 sq feet so it’s a very small room. Hope this helps.

The “new heater smell” doesn’t last very long I don’t notice any smell running the heater now whatsoever. Hope your heater keeps you nice and warm.
