What an absolute gentleman, nothing but respect. He just set a new course record and is just chilling. Wish him the best in UTMB. Like he says Jim needs to start easy and he could be first American to win.
What a legend and role model for our sport. Also thank you so much Bryon (and Megan) for another wonderful weekend of following you on twitter, youtube, etc. You guys rock hard 100%! ;)
Top 10 ? In terms of true mountain ultras he's been top 3 for a few years !!! In my opinion there's him and Jornet and then the rest. You might not be aware of all his achievements
Great performance and always interesting to listen to François debriefing after such an experience, more than a race. Following him (and all other participants) online here in France. Nice to see his English has improved a lot too ;-) Bravo François, les ch'tis sont fiers d'avoir un tel gentleman sportif, humble et si sympathique. La classe, tout simplement. Great job iRunFarMedia with this interview and your overall coverage.
How long have you been running in the trail? I just started two years ago and in less than a year I've known a number of elite endurance athletes who consistently tops in major ultra trail race. I've known Jim, Kilian then François and decided to follow Jim and François on Strava because they consistently share updates on their sport activities. The man François is a 3-time champion in UTMB.
He really is a metronome. I understand why him and Jim Walmsley clicked. Always thought short and bulky runners had an advantage in steep mountains. . His only « defeat » in recent years was a draw in the 2019 Reunion island 100 where him and his rival decided to share victory rather than risking getting whacked in the few last km.
He is a nice, gracious human being. I am glad he won.

Man I wish I could've been a fly on the wall listening to him and Jim during that section
Merci François, de la simplicité, un mental et du sourire. c'est classe. Bravo. Alban
It was amazing to follow the race via twitter, but to hear him talk was beautiful.
He’s so cool, so humble, so amazing! And so fast!
When everything clicks and you have the perfect day out, he does not look tired even :) congrats Francois!

"You ran an incredible race" - "Not so bad". Seriously? What a run. What. A. Run. Congrats, Francois!
Cool calm and collected might win utmb and hard rock 100 casually . Hope his pacer Jim took in some notes to have a chance
great interview! hope "his pacer" had the notebook out and learned from the best.
Super interview François !! Good Luck for UTMB
In general, one of the Top 10 men currently on the planet. Nobody is disappointed this guy won. Good race.

@@ifonly4486 In terms of wine making
@@MT-pi3ct That's why he's so good. Wine is the elixir of the ( running ) gods !
@@ifonly4486 I genuinely find his lifestyle, admirable.

What a runner ... i wont be surprised if he wins utmb too... that would be insane...
I'm rooting François for the fourth win in UTMB in a few months this year.
@@reysaj if he wins that, he would have one more than killian and xavier... breaking their 3 way tie...
Cool to hear his report of his run. Congrats on an awesome race, François!
Such a nice guy
Fantastic interview.
At 11:53 did François says he just wants to be at UTMB and meet that american winner? ...Referring to Jim winning?
Congrats
Goat.
champ!
we need Yannis Kouros interview! great one with Francois D'Haene tho. Congrats to him
Il devrait faire la promo de son vin, mine de rien, sur son tee shirt !!! Les américains aiment le pinard français ! Bravo !

he really would not strike me as an elite athlete

....will be hard to beat him at UTMB. The same for Pau Cappell. I don't think Jim will make it....
