- Archie seems to still be fertile, despite what I had hoped. He managed to make Storm pregnant and she had to be moved with her babies to Midas's large mousy group. Introducing new mice is tricky but in this case it went super smoothly, Midas's troop is just so into babies :)
I made a chapters list for this video so you can jump to what you are interested in if you want to save time:

Sorry about the length but this video needs to be all in one to get the feeling of what it is really like to have pet mice.
This was filmed in early September, I am a bit behind in video editing, just too much on the go in the moment.
Warning: breeding mice is dangerous, you can end up with WAY more mice that you can properly take care of in a very short period of time, plus maternal death rates are high once the mouse is over 4 or 5 months old. Join a few mouse breeding groups on Facebook to find out all that is involved in being an ethical, responsible breeder. When it comes to breeding mice, quality of life is always the most important consideration and finding good homes for pet mice is not easy.
If I had these lovely creatures, I would never get anything done for watching them. Intriguing.
I’m giving away two mice. Anyone able to adopt?
@@arianatagg, would LOVE to, but I have a farm, and have three cats that are inside my house and my barn.
@@emilyevans6989 yeah I have two cats who are somewhat friendly towards the mice but it’s very inconvenient having them there
I have currently 2 rats, a mouse. A- wait no, my hamster passed away yesturday so.
@@rex_4576 sorry about your hamster
I had a really bad fight with my brother just now and I was feeling supremely awful. I pressed play and as the minutes went on I could FEEL my heartrate decrease and my shoulders relax, and by the end of the video I even had a little smile on my face.
Thank you as always for sharing these little mousies with us all.
I love mice so much. Such wonderful little companions. I had a little rescue mouse when I was little and she went everywhere with me. Cuddles while watching cartoons, she'd play in my hood or sit on my shoulder when I went on my walks to the park... I even snuck her into play of Anne of Green Gables once. She was a wonderful little friend. I adored her for the 2 years I had her ^-^
I can’t rightly explain, by I always love how they sniff at you when you come close.
and then when they look up you can see their mouthes and they're so cute and tiny and triangular
It's the cutest when they're being petted. They look like they're on cloud 9! Precious little fluffykins!
I have guinea pigs and this seriously made me want to have mice too ❤️ I never knew their personalities were so bold!
Most pet store mice are very shy, I breed my own and this is what makes them so confident.
This is the most adorable thing i've ever seen! I never knew that mice acted like a bunch of little old ladies over a newborn! really the most adorable!
+CreekValleryCritter Congrats Archie, you're father. Dang this mouse is smart! 👍🐁 ❤
Adorable mouse reality TV , so relaxing to watch mouse drama :)
Storm is a little chonker! Oh and lovely Auntie Faye. I'm glad Midas is being nicer to Storm. Poor Archie. Heidi's markings are so beautiful.
She probably looks big because she was just pregnant

I love all your set up and mice. The bonds the lot I just love. I miss having mice I had and bonded with one for more n 3 year I was devastated when she died.
So did I! Animals are special, so much better than humans, you don't know how much you love them until you lose them.
I love how shiny the gold/tan mice are. Theyre so cute and pretty and they dont even know, all the know is food and wheel and comfort. 💖
I had a mouse like Archie.. Ollie.. God I loved him so much.. I miss him terribly.. 😭 I have other mice but nothing like him, they're more timid and nowhere near as interactive.. One of the things I miss most is when hed sit on my foot.. 😭💔💔💔

This is beautiful, I adore how you are a good mice momma to them. Thank you for being so kind to the small sweethearts. I've had many many small fur babies of all kinds and this warms my heart.
You have the sweetest and most beautiful mousies I’ve ever seen!
I had pet mice growing up and my sister still has mice in her growing family. The work you put into the care and love, even training, of the mice shows just how much of a wonderful person you are. I do envy you at times as I wish I could have the life style of taking care of mice again. Sadly, that's not to be where I'm living. It's a joy to see the videos and watch you interact with the mice. Keep up the great work. ;)
Oooh they’re melting me!! What a beautiful litter!! Absolutely am in love with the setup too! Looks so cozy for them!
Archie doesn't have a bad boy's face. He's supremely cute.
Thank you for sharing 😊 🐁
Congratulations on the babies, they're so adorable!
Aww, a Siamese looking mouse.

These just melt my heart. So adorable
Hey Aud, we have the same water dishes. LOL I find those little ceramic ones to be perfect for mousies and rats. I initially bought them as molds for Chocolate mousse but I ended up using them as water bowls because they're nice and heavy.
They do work great :) I get most of my dishes from the dollar store and only recently discovered they are actually called condiment bowls lol They are the perfect size for mice :)
They're very wiggly!
They are so beautiful- I love to watch them💕
how about 'Melissa' for the unnamed-as-yet baby mouse? Means 'honey'
Close, but it actually means bee! It’s an etymological name from greek mythology, Melissa was the name of the bee who raised Zeus as a baby :)
@@cheesenipspartymix Actually a very good name for a mouse. Mice are tiny like bees, social like bees and love to take care of all babies, even those that they are not related to :) Also baby mice smell a little like honey.
@@cheesenipspartymix it means honeybee, so you were both right 🙂

I finally found a channel that does mouse content, super happy:)

Finn is so floofy and adorable! He seems like he has bigger ears than most mice. 😍 I love how sweet so many of them are!
Looks like the babies are going to open their eyes any day, now! ❤️ Sorry to hear about the accident, but you've made the maternal mousies so happy. 😅 Some of them almost seem to go into a trance, around babies.
Yes, they go into a 'baby high' :)
@@CreekValleyCritters It's kind of beautiful! ❤️ More proof that mice are really very special little critters. I could watch them babysit and groom all day. 🤭

I love your video, your voice is so gentle and soothing it's my favorite thing to fall asleep to. It's calming as all beckon watching your cute little troop thrive and go through it's phases. I'm very sorry about Archie, and the situation with the pandemic.. I hope his babies are quiet beautiful
oh the baby mices are too cute I cant stand it lol
so cute and adorable
Your mice are so chunky and cute! I’m used to seeing mice pretty skinny, is that the breed or level of care?
Most of my mice are long haired so this makes them look bigger, but they also have had the best care since before they were born and are raised in a stress free environment. I think this makes a big difference. The only store bought mouse I have right now is Lily and she is a tiny, timid, sad little thing, really different from my happy, confident, and much bigger mice.
Aww mousie love
Storm is adorable and I feel bad for Archie
So happy u r still making videos. I have a mousery too. Not nearly as awesome as yours. I live in Playas de. Rosarito.
Hello, I’m wondering what the grass sort of bedding is that the babies are in; the nest. It looks very natural and cozy :) want it for my own boy
I was wondering the same. It looks like sea grass that you can find on the beach.
I made it myself by cutting grass from our lawn and drying it. I am very allergic to hay but find I am fine with my homemade hay. No dust or pollen :) Can't make very much at a time so it is a luxury item for my mice. They do love it though. We never use herbicides or fertilizers on our lawn, and then hand cut it for the hay, and then freeze it before giving it to the mice, so it is safe.
@@CreekValleyCritters By any chance do you sell it :’)
@@waterbottle7493 I have been thinking about this, maybe next summer. It is not hard to do if you do not mind an unkempt looking lawn and a few drying tents scattered around the property. It is wonderful hay especially for people like me with allergies and for mice with extra sensitive respiratory systems. My husband really wants to get a business like this going, so maybe next year.....
I used to raise mice, the babies are so cute and the grown mice interactions are so interesting.
This is too cute for words 😶
This video made me so happy 🥺🥺 I could listen to u talk all day 🥺💕 u rlly made my day

Archie is a people mousie he loves you very much❤ they are very intelligent little creatures
Can female mice who haven't had their own litters and who are acting as babysitters begin lactating to help feed the babies of another mouse?
Sometimes but it is very rare.
You know, I never realised that females other than the mother could lactate(in any animal) I found out just how easily cats can, when my two new rescue kittens (14 weeks old) started nursing on my 3 spayed females. They alllll started lactating lol boy was that a shock. I looked it up and mice can indeed do it to, but apparently it's more common in rats
@@parisinthe30sx There is also a drug they can give mares so they start lactating and can feed an orphaned foal. Wish you could buy this for mice, would really take the load of mom to have another mouse lactating plus a life saver for the babies if mom were to die or have health problems that stopped her from lactating. Had this happen recently with Glory, she could not feed her litter but luckily Lily had babies at the same time and could take over.

Have you ever thought of working with ASF rats? Not a lot but if you can find someone who has some friendly ones you can put some with your male mice as long as they grow up with him and you.
I have been thinking about this but I have heard that if for some reason they do not get along and have a fight, an ASF can kill a mouse within seconds. I don't know if I can really risk this especially when my only option for getting an ASF is through my local pet store. A poorly bred, traumatized ASF could be dangerous for my precious boys :(
@@CreekValleyCritters - I get it I have two female ASF I have been working with for 1 year and a 4 months just to be pets and be handled. I have to wear gloves and they're still not very keen on any kind of affection. They do however love to perform tricks for treats, even if I can't handle them.
I think if you raised your own small colony and separated the babies and hand raise them how you raise your mice you would be able to put them together. I do believe the only time that they get agitated is when you add a new mouse into the mix after they're adults. These rats seem to not like new males I was told by a breeder that if I introduce a male to my girls they will breed with him and once they're pregnant they will kill him and then choose to breed with their sons.
I don't know how true this is but I do plan to breed these in the future So eventually I will find out. I love ASF's because they hardly produce any type of a smell and I think they're very beautiful I just wish they were a bit more friendly.
they are so cute :'
are there any more videos of the babies? they're so cute I'd love to see them explore T^T
Aww how cute 😍😍😍😍 omg I love them 😍😍😍😍😍 I have hamsters and one of them is a Dwarf Chinese Hamster named Bruce and he's got a little mouse face 😍😍😍 He's adorable I love him 😍😍😍 I also have a MUCH bigger one, a Teddy Bear hamster who's name is Teddy, he's similar to Archie and also likes to be like a tiny dog too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ugh I love them there so cute!!!!!
I wish i had some little ratties but i already have two hamsters and its hard to give attention to both so i guess its till not the time :")
But like I wish rats where more popular bc a lot of people hate them and always when i see those videos that show so much love to the ratties it melts my heart 💖 and theyre so cute and get affectioned to you unlike most hamsters tho i love my hammys theyre so cute and adorable
rats are awesome!! these are mice in this video though!

I also have long haired syrian hamsters and they are so awesome. They love classicql music.
Will you keep the babies? Especially the black and white one? I noticed you prefer the beige ones and Siamese. My Matilda was a black tan from white and brown parents, sort of a suprise to the owners but unfortunately she paid with some posture problems but she was amazing.
I keep all my babies unless a really good home comes along, but this is rare. I don't really prefer beige ones, it is just that this seems to be the most common color born in my mousery. I have too many gingers right now, but then this color seems to go hand in hand with super temperament, so maybe not such a bad thing. I am trying though for more variety and celebrate any baby who is born with a different color.
@@CreekValleyCritters ah I see :) to be honestly after I asked the question I watched a video in which you talked about this and understand. I do see the ginger mice seem to be a lot more friendly and have good temperaments but also seem to be very prone to weight gain in my case.
Faye (forgive me if I've murdered her name) reminds me A LOT of the mouse version of Red from Orange is the New Black. Idk why 🤣 but she does. I think it's the hair color and then genuine sweet nature
Aww xx
Coucou les ptites souris 💋🥰😍 .elles sont toutes adorables .🐭🐭🐭bisous à vous❤️❤️❤️🥰🙏👋💋
Such a lovely event, it's lovely to observe. It may have been unexpected, but it is a lovely surprise non the less. It's a pity that little Archie is so moody and his neuter didn't work. I remember once you mention a type of mouse and rat bait that doesn't kill the rodents but leaves them sterile, is that an option?
No sadly that product is a scam :( It does not work at all and the manufacturers are very cagey about it when I contacted them to find out more. They did not even seem to know that domesticated mice exist so this makes me think they never even did any experiments on mice, just threw a whole bunch of ingredients together following some aboriginal herbal recipe and marketed it as a mouse birth control :( There is another product out there that seems much more authentic and does work, but they do not sell it as yet in Canada so I cannot get hold of it. As soon as it becomes available though, I will try it out on my mice. This product though makes the mice permanently infertile, both the males and the females, so cannot be used on mice you plan to breed later. Because of this, it may also have more side effects, whereas the herbal product I tried just was very tasty for the mice and had no side effects except for pregnancy :P
@@CreekValleyCritters such an odd occurance with that product isn't it? And not knowing about domestic mice? And marketing a product on mice? So silly.
At least Archie has you for company. 🐁
I absolutely love your videos! I also have a mousery and one of our females was just found to be pregnant (hopefully) today!! Do you keep or sell the little babies?
Some I rehome, most I keep, but you may want to join a mouse breeding forum to find out everything that is involved.
If you ever have issues socializing rodents, cover them in yogurt/baby food. I know it sounds Kray-kray but it really does work because they spend so much time and energy licking each other clean, they have little energy left for fighting.
Is that cage big enough for all those mice or is it multi levels
The introductory tank is small, the reason I only use it as a temporary cage, e.g. for introducing a new mouse to one of my existing troops. Introductions are tricky with mice because they are so territorial, so it is best done in a small space that does not belong to anyone. Once they get along, then they are moved back to one of my large open concept cages.
Lol mice drama
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Your videos are so inspiring.
Does anyone have any tips for introducing new mice? I currently have a pair of mice and I’d like to introduce a pair from a different litter but I’m not sure how long I should keep them together or if it’s safe to leave them overnight in a bin / when to tell if they’re fully bonded - trying to get as much research done as possible before trying to introduce them
At first, I thought they were rats but then saw how fuzzy they were like a hamster, and now I'm confused about what they are. I've never seen an animal like this before 😂
My little guys are extra large and fluffy domesticated mice, who do look a little like small hamsters with tails :)
You don't know what a mouse is..? 😂
Did you breed Finnegan he is cute
I have. He makes gorgeous babies but he himself is a little too much on the aggressive side, so I will probably not breed him again.
Cute
I only had a hamster but they look so cute!
What kind of mice are these because NYC mice do not look like similar? These look very much like Syrian hamsters
Could Archie's moodiness be caused by a "botched" neutering, perhaps? I can't help but wonder about this. Or maybe his hormones are still settling? Hormones can have a huge impact on mood, as we women all know very well ;)
