Update failed over bluetooth
If you have trouble updating your watch over Bluetooth, try these steps to resolve the problem:
1.Turn Bluetooth on and off on your phone.
2.Restart your watch.
3.On your watch, open the Settings app > About. If your firmware version is 38.6.1.1, attach your watch to the charging cable and plug the charging cable into a USB port on your computer before you begin the update. Keep your Fitbit device close to your phone or tablet to complete the update.
4.Remove your watch from your Fitbit account.
5.Remove your watch from the list of Bluetooth devices paired to your phone. On your phone, go to Settings >Bluetooth > find the watch in the list > find an option to forget the device.
6.Reconnect your watch to your Fitbit account

And to do any force stop or anything like that in the watch I can't because it won't let be swipe or do anything except data not cleared

Thanks a million!... I have restarted my phone numerous times, uninstalled the fitbit app, basically fought with it all day since picking it up at the post office and after plugging the watch into my laptop.... voila! I would've never ever thought to plug it into my laptop...thank YOU!

Hi am having the same issue here. i did uninstall the apps, remove the fitbit from my bluetooth list and i did remove it from my fitbit apps too. Did the factory resetting and did on and off bluetooth thingy, but the X mark and data not cleared is still there. could you please help me.
How I gonna go on the setting after restarting, if big red X is on all time. How to get rid of big red X or how to clear data on my watch????

How to fix data not cleared sync&tryagain in my versa lite
Essentially it worked. You have to start setup before a brand new reset on your phone. So, if your fitbit used to work ok, then follow steps 1-5 first, enter your Fitbit account in your phone, then start as a new phone, when it asks to start the pair, then you turn on your fitbit. Did this with a Versa 2. Fitbit Support was of no help, they kept on doing the same thing different ways. But now I got it fixed thanks to Aarna (95% of full credit) and some other videos I saw.
My fit bit made me remove it from my account after this what can I do?!
@@dac6157 It would be easier to just set up as a brand new equipment. I did this a while ago, so I do not remember specifics of what I did, but I do remember I had to tweak some of the video instructions to get it right. I wish you the best of luck and many blessings.

I did not get what you supposed to do. How did you get the fitbit sync symbol to show up on screen? What am I supposed to do. I have a versa lite and cant seem to get it to do anything but show that annoying red plus symbol. Someobe please help me i need my watch to work for my Job. Thanks

@@aarnacreations950 this step that you are saying to do is not working. It has a red x in says sync and try to clear again. My versalite only has one button on it so it will turn on and off but that is all. It is connected to my phone at this point and it says it's updating. But taking forever. I've done this stuff multiple times before and it will update for hours and then say update failed. I don't access to computer only my phone

I tried to reset my fitbit versa on your steps but in vain.
Fitbit watch still download the data ifself which I had done just a half before the first updade setting (it means not fully completed then be stopped.)
I thought it might be my mistakes (when Try again in my phone..) Oh..I chose the Bluetooth resetting then the troubles occurred, the fitbit disconnected the Bluetooth or wifi again and seemed both be locked The little bit of data still occupied in the fitbit versa watch let me do nothing...
I try to hard factory reset but in vain too...
so how to clear the remaining data then let the device refresh...

My Fitbit versa came to a big big problem during setting up be blocked though according to the instructions step by step.
At first it seemed normally to download the update data with the green line processing a half then suddenly stopped. (wifi processing ) It may be my fault change to the Bluetooth connection then device couldn't find the Bluetooth again. I have tried to connect Bluetooth again and again but in vain.
I think parts of data be loaded so lock the Bluetooth...
How can I fix it......
i’ve tried to uninstall it unpair it turn it off use a different phone (iphone ,laptop, & android) even make a different account it just won’t work it updates till 10% then it just stopes can you help me please

Hello arana creation ,my Fitbit versa lite was randomly vibrating and everything goes blank and if I can see screen after 1-2 min it's get freeze 10-12 time a day,I can't swipe,I tried to factory reset(on watch via setting->about->factory reset) but it's showing msg that "data not cleared sync & try again " pls help

You need just usb to connect fitbit to laptop
My fitbit versa lite all of a sudden will only show the logo on the screen. I have no option to use the Settings app. It is syncing with my phone, according to my phone. I just can't get the logo off the fitbit screen so I can use the device.

When you start updating fitness band we need to connect fitbit to laptop through usb... then it updates without any fail... we dont face any "update failed "data not cleared " errors....

This is the same issue I'm having. FitBit wasn't able to help. We tried a soft reset, a factory reset, powered if on and off, turned off the Bluetooth on my phone, forgot it in my Bluetooth settings, cleaned the charger ports and still all I get is this error message. Please help!!

I don’t know what to do with my Fitbit verse lite I’m restart it to factory mode and since that I’m suffering with update failed I used many solution ( phone iOS Android , laptop ) and nothing help to solve this problem.
Do one thing again...
1.uninstall the app
2.go to bluetooth unpair the fitbit
3.signup with different email id & sign in
4.after sign in, add setup device select fitbit versa lite & pair with phone
5. Then update using good wifi connection, for that connect usb with laptop...update will take 30mins.
Still have the same problem :(

Hey there-
I just had the same issues with my Fitbit. I went everywhere I could think of online to figure out how to fix it, no one would give me a clear-cut answer. You need to hook up the charger to a laptop or computer, it's not going to work on your phone. You're gonna have to force it to update, even when it says it won't connect or can't, keep trying. It will eventually end up going through. It might even say that it can't connect through wifi so try blue tooth, don't switch. Keep trying to connect to wifi. It'll eventually update and finally clear the data. I know it sounds like a pain in the ass and it is tbh, but it's the only way I was able to finally get it working again. I hope this helps and if you need any help along the way, just comment and I'll answer you when able.

That was failed and when I tried to pair it back with my android , it's showing this data not cleared screen. I have tried to do update of firmware, it took half an hour and completed all updation, after that also same screen is showing on my fitbit. Tried with different accounts. Nothing is working
