OUT OF THE BOX Fitbit Versa Lite Edition FAIL TO WORK!
First it didn't want to turn on
Second it only displayed the Fitbit Logo
Third the screen showed large red X "Data not cleared sync & try again"
After googling and trying multiple suggestions the Fitbit failed time and time again. During my google searches I came across customers where their Fitbit was falling apart or doing the same thing.
I don't rely on customer reviews on any website. After I experienced this issue I returned to Amazon and read through some of their reviews. This is something I should have done before hand. However, I didn't and there are myriad complaints about the product.
Since I have wasted too many hours, today I logged into my Amazon account and performed a return request.
This could be a hit or miss but I do not recommend this product.

tried many times, not working, lost my time
found no solution, sorry, other than replacing.
hi Gary i seem to have found the answer to fix this.
1.turn off all bluetooth devices that you have your fitbit connected to.
2.Uninstall the app on your phone.
3.reinstall the latest version of the app and log in.
4. turn back on the bluetooth on your phone .
5. go to the top left icon of the person on your fitbit app and click it .
6. click on set up device and click the versa 2 or what ever device you have.
7. a messages should pop up then and ask you to allow permission for your fitbit to access all the time and click allow.
8 .then connect and it should ask you to update your fitbit and do so.
this update may take some time but it should work.

Sorry, no solution to the problem. If yours is under warranty still -- you should try fit bit to replace. Be prepared to jump through a few hoops. They'll have you try everything you already tried. Or you can tell them if they don't do something about it you'll contact your states attorney general. Because when you google this model has lots of issues reported.
I had the same problem as you , deleted the app on my phone and then reinstalled it, logged back in and then went to Bluetooth on phone found versa connected went back to app went to add new device and followed the instructions in the app.I hope this works for you.
@@anthonyeaton8092 I tried that before replacing and didn't work. It keep insisting on removing the device which I completed before resetting. So replacement was best option. By the time they decide to replace under warranty and actually get it to someone it be outmoded.
i had syncing issues, firmware update issues, time moving slower issue. do not buy fitbit!

Didnt fix, had to replace. Maybe now that Google owns Fitbit newer ones will be better.

My Fitbit won’t update it will update on the app but not on my Fitbit
Place it on the charger and use the app to update.
I found out how to fix it, I forgot my device on Bluetooth and on the fit bit app, it restarts it have to to sync it all again, you loose your stuff downloaded etc but least it works !

I finally was able to do it
I had to remove it from my Bluetooth and my Fitbit app, it would still connect but still had that big X but after keeping it plugged to my laptop and going the setup process and the update it finally worked
It is really buggy and hopefully Fitbit finds a away to change that or make it easier to set up
