Cody, your video is more explicit than the Polaris maintenance video I've viewed. Thanks much for being so comprehensive. I also enjoyed the personal style / demeanor you present. Regards....
Great Video. getting ready to change the oil on the XP1000 crew. Fluids are cheap especially now that we know its 5W-50. The up close shot of the drain plug was nice.
I went to my local quad/dirt bike shop and they gave me 10w50 UTV oil. She said that Polaris made 5w50 so that most people would buy oil straight from them. Just a little fun fact that may help someone out
The kit does come with a new copper washer and when you price it out using name brand synthetic oil it's only a few dollars cheaper, $10 cheaper if store brand. So until my warranty expires I'll stick with the Polaris kit that I buy from the dealer or Polaris website that way they can't use the excuse that you used inferior oil. I don't know about yours, but in taking off the factory installed filter on my XP it was very tight, more than 3/4 turn past gasket contact.
Not true It is required If you buy it new from Factory to keep your Lifetime engine warranty if you got one. and its 25 miles or 1000 miles which ever comes first.

How’d it go?

Our filter was somewhere in the middle - definitely wasn't locked down really tight, but was probably more than 3/4 turn.
Dang! I thought you we’re going to taste the oil or something. Haha!
If our cows ate oil then we might, but until then…
@@FarmandRanchHacks haha! Keep up the great videos! 👌🏻
25 hours was for break in. I do mine every 75 hours

But you don't honestly change your oil and filter every 25 hours do you?
Yes but that’s probably only twice a year. Ours pretty much exclusively gets used for feeding or chasing wild cows.
