Love Wins All is a true masterpiece. The gorgeous IU has created an anthem of love for all time. Everything in this music video is beautiful, right down to the dust on the tables. It's pure art. The song is so sensual and sublime. The interactions between IU and V in the music video are amazing. Seriously, IU’s album The Winning is a masterpiece. Every song is such a diamond. Every music video is a visual delight. IU is a true musical genius.
The cube is meant to represent society and how badly it treat anyone who is "different". In the MV IU is deaf while Tae is blind in one eye but since they love each other they don't see those flaws. When we see them through the camera's lens it shows how they see each other - beautiful, perfect and the world is full of life and color because they have that love. Even in the darkest moments having that one person by your side can make it bearable. The ending killed me when IU covers his one good eye and her angelic voice along with the storytelling makes this a real masterpiece and I want to see them in a kdrama together.
They sheer chemistry they have but it is t some smoldering sexual thing it’s caring and loving. It’s some of the best storytelling I’ve seen. The acting is sheer perfection and as you said it’s devastatingly beautiful. Getting the top tier director of Concrete Utopia to direct this, because IU had worked with him before. Taehyung has both whimsical joy innocence that makes you/IU want to protect him but also strength and love. I can’t love this enough.
Thank you for this beautiful reaction. It was concise and informative. Fully agree with you that they will be great in a full length movie or drama one day! V and IU chemistry were insane! Check out their duet on IU 's UA-cam show Palette. They also great together musically, not just in film.
IU is an accomplished award winning actress. My favorite performance of hers was in the outstanding k-drama "My Mister". She was also nominated at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in the movie, "Broker". She has written quite a few songs in recent years that deal with the toxicity of the pressure put on celebrities in Korea and once gave a tear inducing speech on the subject at an annual music awards show. This followed the suicide deaths of two of her friends in the industry after their careers were ruined by attacks from internet trolls and the tabloid press. Not too long ago her co-star from "My Mister" also committed suicide after getting framed in a drug scandal. Given this context, I immediately guessed what the cube was supposed to symbolize.
I was so saddened by Lee Sun Kyun's passing. I'm so glad IU has spoken out about the toxicity they face. I haven't watched My Mister yet, but I'm planning to watch it soon!
@@HallyuWithMe My Mister is well worth watching. One of my all time favorite dramas from anywhere. It starts a bit slow, but really takes off after the first couple of episodes and, unlike a lot of k-dramas, keeps getting better right to the end.
@@HallyuWithMe My favorite drama ever (as an adult--I was OG Star Trek fan in high school). IU was great, but Lee Sun Kyun was amazing--just a middle-aged middle manager trying to do the right thing, with such humanity.
I loved your reaction since you are both involved in the film industry. Thanks for being a V bias as I am. Also, IU and V are good friends. They have really good chemistry.
People keep saying about Spring Day video but it is actually inspired by an earlier art installation by a famous artist referencing the Holocaust. Spring Day was probably inspired by that art installation too.
Thanks for your reaction, now I can understand a lot of things in this MV , your explanation about technical moments are very interesting, and I want to see IU and Taehyung together in a K Drama, their chemistry is insane. 💜💜
I've been watching reactions from different perspectives but I love how intelligent and technical you two are fro a filmmaker and costume designer's point of view. Heck, you guys even critiqued the credit rolls and that's telling of how much work was put into this project. Great job! I got my food for thought for the day.
I don't know if you've ever seen it, but the way they view each other reminds me of a film with Robert young called 'The Enchanted Cottage'; a forgotten gem.
One of the earliest lines of the song mentions 'earth to Mars' which was an odd reference in a love song. That nominally sets up the cubes as Martian invaders. What they symbolically represent and what they are in-world are two different things. They may symbolize prejudice or drone warfare or the existential dread of death, but in the video I say they're invading Martians.
6:43 I get tears almost everytime I watch the MV and this... "special guest is the cube" destroyed my emotion 🤣 I didn't know that 😆btw I somehow associate that cube with all the negative things these days, like hates, wars and every sad feelings which you get. And this video says, "Love wins all", like love with your parner, family, or also even with yourself.
I also recommend Eight by IU, featuring Suga of BTS, written & composed by Suga. It shows how she dealt with the death of her dear friends. Suga & IU are same-age friends and she also featured in his song People pt 2 in his AgustD D-day album. Both V and Suga appeared on IU’s show Pallete (with singing!!) and IU was on an episode of Suga’s show Suchwita. Their good-natured bickering is legendary! Check out all 3 of those!! This video came out a few days after V enlisted and was filmed about a week before he enlisted.
I’m curious to hear a filmmaker’s perspective. There are so many interesting details in the MV and most viewers are surprised at the end when they realize what the pile of clothes was that they saw earlier in the video. However, and maybe it goes by too fast, but no one seems to notice or is surprised that there is the outline of a charred body where the pole they pick up is in front of the pile. Was this not a significant detail in tipping the viewer off as to what’s about to happen, or does it slip by too fast for people to notice?
OH WHOA!!!! I did not notice that detail before, it registered as just a dirty/stained floor in an abandoned building to me. On my first viewing (hi, it's Lynne), with the Spring Day reference in mind, I had thought maybe their clothes would be added to the pile, but wasn't sure what was going to happen. Thank you so much for your thoughts!!
there´s a kdrama called "duty after school or something like that, that´s what the cube reminds me of, that some alien got into earth and destroied the humanity
Please understand that using a translator may be a bit clumsy. First of all, I enjoyed the movie reactions and reviews. Hotel Del Luna is a drama starring IU. However, her life character and representative work, which Koreans choose as the number one character, is "My Uncle". "My Uncle" is always regarded as one of the best dramas of Korean life. Although it is not a movie, if you are a producer, I recommend you to take a look. I appreciate it.

If you're looking for content, over the past year there have been several 'mini-movie' K-pop MVs. 'Top or Cliff' by Kim Sejeong, 'Haegeum' by Agust D, and 'Cool With You' (two linked videos) by NewJeans. People may know of others too.
Like your reaction.subscribe. Behind the scenes and more her videos please.she is the one always makes a combination of her music and dramatic story among the K-pop industry. Her drama My Mister is the best. Actually the original pile of clothes scenes is from a French art in his art exhibition.
There are many different ways to interpret this MV, but it has a relatively simple explanation that is very close to its origin: "This song is a artist's true confession to her fans who will...and have always been with her. May everyone cherish each other, until the end." IU is producer of entire project herself. She just want to say: "Believing in Love, and finally love wins all."
IU said, "We defined the present as an era of hatred and included the importance of love in our song." The director said that Cube represents oppression and prejudice.
React to IU - Friday. One of my favorite song. See how it films in the MV. Plus another song - Not Spring Love Cherry Blossoms. Nice songs gonna watch.

This is such a tearjerker omg. What a beautiful love story crafted masterfully by IU & V in the span of 5 minutes. I'm still in awe. What a gorgeous, cinematic masterpiece ❤❤❤❤
IU led V throughout the whole video, so at the end V wanted to defend her but to no avail. After she covered his good eye, one lone tear going down his cheek and hers at the very end absolutely destroyed me. What an MV 💜

IU produced the MV and her Director just recently won an award for “Concrete Utopia” which starred Park Seo-joon, one of V’s closest friends & part of the Wooga Squad. The MV was filmed at an abandoned seaside resort in South Korea. The winter weather & wind & mist from the sea had temperatures dropping fast & very cold. IU came down with the flu but continued to film. The “behind the scenes” film production can be seen on IU’s TV as well as Bangtan TV from V. IU is mute and V is blind in his right eye. The cube can be interpreted as 1) judgemental society putting marginalized people in their set boxes and/or 2) media with its one sided views of marginalized people & how they are viewed and both would have them taken out of their unrealistic world. V filmed this one week before his enlistment into MS. IF you have not reacted to IU’s Pallet where she is MC and interviews celebrities in and out of the Entertainment Field, I think you would be surprised. To date she has had 3 members of BTS on her show: JHope, Suga and V. She performed duets with all three. I loved her & V’s duet of “Ending Scene”. Their harmony is beautiful together. IU and V are very good friends & have known each other for quite some time. Their teasing & bickering with each other is quite endearing. IU is the same age as Suga and 2 years older than V.
