  • Really fun and challenging course in Bel Air, MD. I made a bad choice to try to hop the concrete step near the end of the lap with no speed and failed epically, causing a rim-strike and putting a small cut into my rear tire. About 30 seconds later I felt the tire get bouncy and flat, so I had to ride gingerly back to the pits to switch bikes! Unfortunately I also don't have any video from the rest of the race since the GoPro is on my main bike! Managed to move back up to 4th place before the end. Great race and nice day for late November with temps in the low 50s!

Nicely done. Pulling out 4th with a bike switch is no easy task. What's your setup for recording/posting? What do you use for the map, gauges, power, etc? Keep posting man - I subscribed. Looking forward to the next one.

Thanks man! What you also don't see is how badly the swap in the pit went! The bike rack was full and I didn't have anyone pitting for me, so I must have spent 25 seconds getting my pit bike and racking my main bike. I rarely have to pit so I was woefully unpracticed at it lol. It was fun trying to move back up. Sadly CX season around me has ended for the year though =(. I've been using a GoPro Hero9 and processing my videos with the old Garmin VirbEdit program with the .fit data file for the gauges/map. Garmin stopped supporting the software and Google now changed something with the maps data, so you get an error message and can't as easily line up the start of the data file and the video. It can still be used, but you have to trial and error adjusting the start time of the data with a slider until the data timing matches up.
