About the idea behind this course:
In 2015, in Sydney, I gave a lecture titled "Rich and Righteous," and since then, I have always wanted to revisit this topic and explore it in more depth. I believe today is the best time to delve into this subject and examine the Islamic attitude towards money and wealth. Framing this discussion correctly from an Islamic perspective, considering what a righteous person would do with wealth, and how to approach the entire discourse has been on my mind for quite some time. I hope you will comment and engage with me on this journey.

Your lectures made me learn a righteous mind-set makes a Muslim believe that my business is not just for earning profit but for welfare of society too. (Usman bin Affan Strategy). 😊

The religion of Islam regulates all kinds of relations of human beings, but for some reason, it is treated as if it does not have an answer for the economy, and what is more interesting is that we are asked to behave in the same way, whereas Islam is light and this light will end all the cruelties of the world, biiznillah.
I love this ! May Allah increase your stature , I crave to hear business examples from Hadith and Quran ..
Different factors can influence the car situation. It's functionally, it's durability and reliability in context of the country/region. Maybe if they go beyond these factors but only adding a sense of luxury or a class statement it could be classified as extravagant or as a vanity purchase. Also considering the wealth situation of the individual as well.
15:00 - The wealthy Muslim should buy the fancy car. It is his money. TOO OFTEN, "poorer" Muslims are too preoccupied with judging others. Appears like jealousy wrapped in religion. It is not my job to judge another's intention. There is no honor in poverty alone. And it closes the door on MANY good deeds. I'm loving this series and it increases reflection.
Necessity Vs Greed
in the case of an expensive car I would suggest the idea that if its for pleasure purposes and one is not exaggerating by buying multiple cars then its fine. the risk of corrupting the heart and seeking attention and riyya' increases in more material purchases. also one should consider where he lives and drives this car. for example in big european citys most people live average or good but if one is driving high end cars in poor areas it can cause either motivation or fitna in their hearts as feeling less worthy.
He is not responsible for their hearts. Should you limit yourself bco of another's insecurities??
Thank you for this beautiful episode. I have a question about one of your previous presentations where you explained the Model of the Islamic economy. There, you brought up a bottleneck issue as the main drawback of social and free economies. But in my view, I see the free economy facilitates trade at all levels and hardly has a bottleneck problem. I am sure that it has other problems but not congestion.
I think that in the capitalist model, this is a slowly developing problem - concentration at the top, whether politically or economically, is increasingly narrowing. But this is just my assessment, and I could be wrong. It is something I will explore to see where it goes, insha’Allah.
But key problem for capitalism as I see is a valueless and faithless system of incentives that will prioritise numeric growth over anything else, and commoditize everything and everyone.
I don't think there is something wrong with Imam buying luxury cars because luxury cars are beautiful and Allah loves beauty. Correct me if I am wrong. Also there is no standard brand for a righteous person but rather he should wear and drive according to his wealth to show Allahs blessing on him and be gratefull and of course these material things should be on his hands not on his heart. Again correct me if I am wrong please
It's also possible that what he's driving is standard for the community he lives in. Come to find out he's got the cheapest car in his neighborhood :p. Buying a vehicle that makes sense for someone in that community to blend in I believe is a good thing. Otherwise sticking out like a thorn is going to bring unwanted attention.
Convey message of Islam to all people of the world and to everyone who will come also convey message of Islam to all world leaders...........
As-salamu alaikum, please I have a question I’m wondering if you can help me answer this question or anyone in the comments section. My question is I’m thinking about investing in property tax deed and lien with the state account and they paid return on my money for buying those tax liens. Is it haram to invest in property tax lien?
I think we cant judge the imam who bought the expensive car because we lack of context. If it were me i wouldn't buy it because for me and where i live it would be too much, 15 000€ car is enough for me and my needs in my opinion.
