    We're talking about when or if Kristen is ready to be pregnant again and our daughter is just a month old. It's never too early to plan but it's also way too soon to have another baby.

    • @marykaywagner834
      @marykaywagner834 8 років тому

      by the time the other baby is born the baby and cell would be a good age apart

      @randomthatsme1 8 років тому +5

      +Mary Kay Wagner it's not healthy for the mother to get pregnant so soon after birth. They may be a good age apart but it's not good for Kristen!

      We're thinking about 2 to 3 years. That's pretty healthy right?

      Our 1st pregnancy was great but delivery and healing after....FORGET ABOUT IT. It was BAD. I said I would NEVER have another kids. Trust me when I say...I did NOT forget...but decided I didn't want the 1st to be alone. Thank God the 2n child was easy delivery, easy aftwords(2nd baby USUALLY much easier to deliver and heal)....and thank God he slept and ate very soon after he was born(unlike our 1st)...part of it is his personality and part was we knew what we were doing by then lol. They are 2 1/2 years apart. They are best friends. :) Love your videos. Hugs from Florida

    I'm really glad you're showing the realities of parenthood, like the fact that babies do actually cry and sometimes there's nothing you can do about it. You're teaching me a lot. I'm 28 and my husband and I will probably have kids in a couple years... one of my best friends is pregnant and she's the first of my close friends to be having a kid so it's neat to learn what it's like.

    this is when it starts getting good. Shes old enough that she'll start visually exploring the world soon. the best part for me was taking her around the yard and pointing at things telling her what they were. Even though she's not trying to speak yet, she still hears the words and starts associating them with what you point to. then when SHE starts pointing...and eventually starts talking...but yeah, this was my favorite time

      @Lilia7016 8 років тому +2

      +Donna Smith they are first time parents let them be. I don't see any danger in a baby sleeping in their parents room. as first time parents we all did it. I didn’t let my babies sleep alone till they were 1 full year. even now at age 14 & 9 yrs old they sneak in my room with pillows and air beds to camp out, and guess what I let them be. it's not the end of the world let the new parents enjoy their new addition.

    Two kids sharing a bathroom is no sweat. Three or four sharing a bathroom is harder, but do-able. Beyond that, it gets a little crazy (just the scheduling thing).
    Things we tried that worked (intermittently well) for quieting a fussy baby - steamy showers, laying flat on her tummy across daddy's lap, and keeping her upright after feedings for at least half an hour. As always, YMMV. Y'all are doing great.

    Both of you look great! Happy and well rested and having fun! Speaking as a big sis and as a seasoned aunt to over 10 nieces and nephews, the #1 tip I have ever found for calming crying babies is to stand up and do a very slow bounce- basically, bend your knees, straighten, bend your knees, straighten- not in one quick move but in two separate motions. No clue why it works but I haven't found a baby yet who hasn't calmed down after a moment or two of that. (Obviously not if they're crying for a specific reason, hunger, dirty diaper, etc. I'm talking about the grouchy unhappy crying with no discernable reason :) ) Standing up alone seems to calm them, (I read that it's because after all the months of pregnancy they're used to the slight motion as you stand and balance yourselves- sitting there's no motion) but once you add the slow bounce it's amazing! Try it! :)

    Nice video! If it's any consolation, the main job of parents is to grow a loved, intelligent, curious, loving, competent adult. You can never love, teach, help, encourage a child too much. Help them along the way and let them know that you always have their back. Good job guys! Such a sweet Bebe.

    You could always put an addon to your house as well. From what it looks like from what I can see on the video you seem to have enough space on the end of your house. You could build an addon on the side and turn it into a master suite for you and Kristen and move Chell into your old room and then have another room for a nursery for baby #2. As for the additional space for the first floor it could either be a play room or storage for lawn and snow equipment to free up some space in your garage. Or whatever you want it to be, I'm just throwing ideas out there. In past blogs you had long term ideas for this house and the yard for when Chell got older.

    I was just looking at your house pics again and if necessary you can add on to the back or mom and daughter can share a bathroom (maybe if its ok with Kristen). I don't know, just looking for a way for you to keep the house, it is so beautiful. And being your first home in Alaska its gotta mean so much.
    And I think the "bewitching hour" is just Chell exercising her lungs. All babies do it.
    And Cory has GOT to quit thinking about Chell leaving home. It will come around too fast, but you JUST got her, she is not leaving yet!!!

    I'm 2 and half years younger than my brother and we grew up very nicely together! Thought of saying this because I think having too many years apart between brothers can interfere later on with the time you spend together. It doesn't mean it will be better or worse, but I grew up playing with my brother and I wouldn't change a thing about it! Guess that if he was much older than me it would have been very different because we wouldn't get to grow up together like we did.
    Having a brother is the best thing in the world! So please consider giving a brother or sister to Chell, I'm sure she'll thank you later on! But still, you have loads of time to think about it. I think 2 years it's a great gap of age between brothers, we still got along really nicely and we're not even from the same gender. We have a very special bond and I wouldn't change it for the world! :)
    You're amazing parents, and I'm glad you're getting more rest. Everything's going to be fine! Cheers, be safe! ^^

      yes... i am 6 yrs apart from my twin brothers (11, i'm 17) and we get along terribly. it's hard to find (appropriate) stuff in common with a kid when you're almost a legal adult; add in being different genders? forget it

    I love the thought of Kristen doing a house renovation! That would be fun to watch. But do you want to live in a construction zone with a baby? Yikes! Chell is beautiful, but it breaks my heart to hear her cry so hard. That must break your hearts too. Cory, your advice on not getting angry is so good. You are right, anger would just make the problem worse. Maybe the cats are extra sleepy because their baby sister is so loud! It was so good to see both of them. I love Sparta's pink tongue! I hope you have another wonderful night's sleep.

    Cory if you guys have another baby and it's a little boy, what names do you have in mind?
    Also watching you with Chell is so heart warming, you're so good with her and it's so cute to see how much she loves her daddy and her mommy. Kristen is definitely a beautiful mommy, when she holds or feeds Chell she just radiates with beauty

    I had two siblings (older brother and older sister). I've shared a room with my sister since I was 18, with 5 people in the house with one bathroom. We did it fine!

    I am loving your videos and I remember those days and times now we are in the grandparent stage of life and I wouldn't change it for the world. I was wondering if she crys like that around the same time most days? It reminds me of when my daughter had colic and then at 3 months it just stopped but they were the hardest 3 months of having children. I tried everything the vacuum, laying her on the dryer but the only thing that helped was her dad had a specific way he held her along his hip and it took the gas pain off her belly. The hours of the crying was from 9pm to 3am. I don't want any baby to feel like that but it was very hard as a mother not being able to fix it. I thank you for sharing your life with everyone else.

    My goodness, she is such a beautiful little girl.
    My little brother and I are 2 1/2 years apart (now almost 20 and 17) and we've shared a bathroom since we were toddlers. If either of us needs to use the bathroom and can't because the other one is in there, we use our parent's bathroom. But that rarely happens because of how/when we personally like to get ready (I like to be ready in advance, he's more last minute).
    Of course it will probably be different for little Miss Chell and any of her potential siblings, but you'll be fine. Things tend to work out in the end. ❤

    If its gas pain or colic, you can use a warm wrap like a thin blanket or even a cloth diaper and wrap it around Chell's tummy when she does her nightly/daily crying. My son cried around 8pm everyday and would close his eyes tight and turning red, to indicate pain. His stomach also appeared tight when he cried. I ironed one of his receiving blankets (not too hot) and gently wrapped it around his tummy over his clothes. Somehow it helped relieve the gas pains and calmed him down. I got the tip from my mom.

    Kristin, my second was so much easier. I knew more and having another one running around keeps you from fixating on every sound and need. The house is noisier and the baby totally handles it. So fun to have brothers or sisters as well.

    In my experience, 3-5 years is the optimal age gap for kids, with the best being right in between at four. It gives them just enough distance they don't necessarily compete with each other, while being close enough in age that they can relate to each other when they get older.
