Texas Cold Box Heavy Haul Transport w/ Dual Lane Trailer Modules

OXBO’s Texas branch will move a total of 10 Cold Boxes from the Port of Freeport to Central Texas using various combinations of Goldhofer THP/CA and other dual lane trailer modules. With gross weights ranging from 584,000lbs to as much as 980,000lbs, widths of up to 22’, heights of up to 21’8” and overall lengths exceeding 300’.
OXBO’s team spent nearly 4 months surveying 300 miles of route through Texas and working with the TXDOT permit office to find the right path. The loads passed through several small towns and cities and required coordination with over 20 different utility companies, as well as working with a certified arborist to trim trees over the highway in several areas.
At any point during the route as many as 10 bucket trucks, 4 law enforcement officers and 4 civilian pilot cars assist the moves while a team of 3 drivers in prime movers and 2 trailer steersman operate the heavy equipment. Utility companies enter and leave the convoy as necessary, making scheduling and permitting quite the challenge.
