  • Jim Kelly has established himself as a leading Australian contemporary jazz guitarist, composer and educator whose reputation goes well beyond Australian shores.
In 1975 Jim co-formed Crossfire, Australia's most celebrated jazz fusion group who recorded and toured extensively. They recorded seven albums, including a live album with U.S. vocalist Michael Franks.
Jim Kelly and Barry Leef have released an EP of original material called ‘WHO IS WHO’. This was a creative collaboration for Barry working with his longtime associate guitar legend Jim Kelly.
The album was mostly recorded by the “who's who" of the Australian music industry.
Due to ‘covid and sheer travel distances' the players recorded their parts separately and then sent them back to where they were put together at Jim’s ‘Tone Ranger Studio' near Lismore NSW.
The end result of this album and it’s critical acclaim is due to the genius and tireless energy of Jims work on this project.
On the final days of recording Jim and Barry worked on the lead vocals together and it was then that the title of the album was apparent. The workload, the joy and the emotion in this joint creative endeavour it became a ‘WHO IS WHO’ equation.
