It’s incredible how there is sort of a small community of people who have been desperately trying to find this instrument haha

I found it on pictures of Minamoto Yoshimitsu playing it in mountains while researching Japanese martial arts.

This is what a shrine sounds like in Japan. It feels very ethereal and like you’ve stepped back in time suddenly it’s a great atmosphere maker

The very first time I heard this I actually stopped and listened that was 30 years ago and still that beautiful sound still has stayed in my heart after all those years. How can a people create such a beautiful instrument. It mysteriously has captured my heart.

I first heard this instrument during the ceremonies accompanying Emperor Hirohito’s funeral in 1990. I searched for many years before finding this sound again. What beauty and unity and harmony of the universe! Brilliant.
