TFS your beautiful work! My sister and I each have a vintage Singer sewing machine with cabinets. One came from our mother who immigrated from to Montreal, Canada in 1951 and our neighbour built her a beautiful cabinet to go with the machine. The second one, with the cabinet, came from Germany with my stepfather. I use mine often, love it, such a treasure. New subbie from Northern Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦.
That's so lovely that you and your sister both have one. Even better that they're family ones! I can hear how much you love them. Your lovely neighbour - he/she must have know how much the machine was loved, as well, to build Mum a cabinet for it. Very special. Sounds as though your whole family are talented - do you know what sort of things your Mum made with it? Clothes, tablecloths...?
What a lovely way to create a planner, journal, a daily to collect things throughout the day. We seem to always find this and that,- that catches our eye. I have a little bag in my purse that always has something, that I found, in it. Carol from California
Hi Carol - hardly a week goes by without having collected something small, does it? And it's so lovely to rediscover things you've popped into a page - or your bag in your purse - at a later date! Thanks for this - you've made my day. Enjoy your weekend. Dawn x
A tip on using linen threads: they get brittle when dry. Moisten them a bit or use when the humidity is high. I learned that from making lace. Please keep sharing your projects. Someday I’ll get brave and try my hand. I’ve collected a lot of bits but have trouble committing them to a project. From the hills of Pennsylvania.
Ahh, that makes sense about the thread - thanks! Well, I'm happy to keep showing what I'm making - time is my main obstacle. That, and the fact that I need to get a grip on my sewing room - I may even turn the video on for that - if I'm brave enough! Take care, Dawn x
Beautiful cover! I will journal in that diary every day only to admire and touch those gorgeous fabrics and laces! Thank you very much for sharing and by the way I love your pincushion ❤❤❤
Thank you - I'm using it every day and it's just so nice to use, because I get to touch lovely fabrics all the time. I appreciate you saying hello and commenting. Dawn x
I really love this idea. I keep so many little pieces of paper with different lists on them and -finally- now I have a way of getting them organised 🎉🎉 Thank you so much ❤
We are sisters from another time from the wayback!💚 Nothing makes my heart sing so loudly than to feel antique fabric, laces and bottons! This is soooooo lovely with the muted colors. I too, have a hand crank machine just like your. However, the portion where the feet connect to are missing. Only a bar hanging down from the machine. So seeing your helps me underatand what I need to be searching for. Believe I'm gonna need 1 of these diary's. Love your content💚💚💚. Take care, see ya soon.
Hi Joy. Good luck finding parts for your machine - I hope you have it up and running again. Such a pleasure to use - so gentle compared to a new machine - although they are great for other reasons, so...! Have a great weekend. Dawn x
Hi Cathie - so very easy too! Do you have some old fabric pieces you can make one with? Hope so. Have a great weekend - thanks for saying Hello. Dawn x
Oh brilliant! Have you had it long? Electric machines are obviously faster, etc. but I much prefer this one for simple sewing - much more relaxing. If possible, do try it out and let me know how you get on! Take care, Dawn x
@@AtHomeInCornwall I ran out of time this morning to watch all your videos ... I am amazed by your gorgeous antique laces, they are so gorgeous! I love the way you create with them, very inspiring. :)
@@odulcinaanne8723 Oh, that's so lovely of you! I'm trying to pop some videos up more regularly but time flies, doesn't it?! I'm so impressed at how many videos you have shared - you're an inspiration to me! Take care, Dawn x
Just had your channel pop on my feed. So happy It did. Love your style and the lovely lace. And THAT sewing machine has been on my really really want list.. Hard to fine the hand crank ones here in the states.💚🤎💚
Hi there - Doreen, is it? Great name tag! Yes, they're just beautiful, aren't they? Some advice though - lots of people selling them assume they work but don't bother checking since they think people only want them for show. I made sure I tried sewing with it first, before I bought it - not just the needle going up and down which people tend to call "working"! I tried a couple of others over the years that, sadly, didn't work and I don't have the brains to fix them. Thanks for saying Hi - where are you? Anywhere I might have heard of? Dawn x
@@AtHomeInCornwall That was meant as a compliment as we love Daisy and I am glad it made you laugh! 💕 I thoroughly enjoyed the video and lovely Singer you have. Thank you
So sew sweet!

Me too, I have two bags...one for rusty bits and one for the other magpie type bits and bobs. (upstate NY)
Ha-Ha! Does that mean you love to dye your fabrics first? My favourite is rust and earl grey tea together. D x
Great old fabrics, love your cover ❤
Thank you Pam. Hopefully you will have some time to sew, or craft, yourself this weekend. Dawn x
