That white sauce is "crema" (cream). In the states the sour cream is the one that people comsume the most. This one is not sour.

@@TheMochiesAdventure Yeah I guess, We eat it like that alone. I recommend you to try loroco pupusas(comes with cheese). Loroco is a flower native of El Salvador. Glad you had coctel de conchas 🍻
