Hey Matt, Those KW coilovers look great & from the smile on your face during the test drive, they have imoroved the 996's suspension feel/performance no end.....well done! I've watched every single one of this videos like a netflix marathon and oh boy, what a beauty you've made! You make me wanna buy a 996 when I move to europe! haha I'm totally in love with it! Cheers from Brazil!
Nice work. Highly recommend finding a shop that knows something about alignments (not the common tire shops). Look for a reputable shop that deals with setting up custom alignments (race cars and such). They will get it set up right and using those coil overs to their max potential by “corner balancing” as well as the caster, camber, toe adjustments.
Solid work dude and good choice of coilovers. Just to chime in consider getting adjustable endlinks so you avoid preloading the ARBs depending on your final ride height but also you will need it for corner weighting. Keep it up. From the ashes a Phoenix rises👍
@@matt13ross That's because you called Porsche. And I can't say the people on the alignment rack at Porsche will now anything about what I suggested... But they will charge way too much regardless. If you’ve only changed to lower springs the standard length shock is making the ride bad. When lowering you need to change the shocks as well to fit. Something like Bilstein B8’s are made for lowering springs.
Thanks for that. The original owner changed the springs but according to the service sheet, the shocks are original. I’ll look into it .I’ve only had the car for a month
You need the b8s that are designed for lowering springs. The stock b4s and b6s are for stock spring height. In addition to that you should add a dsc controller.
Great upgrade for the car Matt! Love seeing all the improvements, really is a different car from where you started. Just going to say it though, the torque wrench is your friend Matt. Using a power tools is good to synch bolts up, but you really should be torquing bolts to the proper specs, including lug nuts to avoid failures and problems.
Audi also uses 16mm external hex drive fasteners. I had to add sockets after gaining an Audi after owning a Honda. Honda’s were hilariously simple because you could take apart the entire car with a 10, 12, 14, 17, 19mm sockets and a few spanners.
