The end credits scene shows the bad things (Ashfur) had done in his life; the stake shows how he plotted to get Squirrelflight's (orange cat) father killed, the ember shows a scene when he threatened to kill her kits unless she broke up with her current mate (brown tabby at the beginning) to be with him. Her smearing his blood back on him symbolizes that she forgives him for all he's done, but that "blood is still on his paws" which he needed forgiveness to be able to go to StarClan (kitty heaven). Just a little information to explain the map's general concept.
"HOMEBOY'S GOING TO HEAVEN" me sweating knowing this wasn't originally written as an alternate universe project but had to be changed to one because homeboy comes back and possesses that woman's husband in the newest arc of the series.

The MAP is less about a person grieving and accepting the loss of a loved one and more along the lines of forgiveness but not forgetting. The ginger cat, Squirrelflight, and the gray cat, Ashfur, once courted when they were younger however Squirrelflight was caught up in a love triangle where her heart belonged to the brown tabby in the beginning, Brambleclaw. And not Ashfur. Long story short, Squirrel picked Bramble and Ash never got over that fact even when they had kids and conspired to kill Squirrel's father (which is what the stake represents as he used a fox trap to do the deed) and attempted to kill her children by trapping them in a forest fire (the ember.) Despite all this Squirrel still cared for him, so when he was discovered to be murder the MAP shows how she comes to forgive him for his sins so that he might ascend into kitty heaven but that the final scene shows that she won't forget what he did
Ok, to understand the story behind the amv: which is after ashfur is found dead on the clans territory he and Squirrelflight have one last good bye. Ashfur is asking for forgiveness for how their relationship soured an Squirrelflight is telling him she forgives him and to move on to Starclan (warrior cat heaven essentially).
Now. For the story leading up to the events of the amv. Squirrelflight had been in a rocky romantic relationship with a cat named Brambleclaw (the brown Tom beside her at the start) however they separated for some time and during that separation she developed a friendship with Ashfur. Ashfur had wanted more, but Squirrelflight eventually got back together with Brambleclaw. Time passes, she has 3 kids with brambleclaw. Ashfur grows bitter and resentful, and one of their sons, Lionpaw (eventually Lionblaze) is apprenticed under him. Ashfur is openly hostile to lionpaw and in the books has physically attacked him before and harmed him when they were just supposed to be training.
The ashfur/Squirrelflight drama comes to a head when the clans camp is ravaged by a forest fire squirrelflight is trying to lead her kids (grown adults at this time) to safety across a fallen log. However ashfur blocks their path and tries to kill the trio and Squirrelflight. It is then revealed to the trio and ashfur that Squirrelflight was not their mother, she didn't give birth to them.
This stuns ashfur long enough that she's able to get the trio to safety.
It's shortly before the trio is revealed to not be Squirrelflight's children that ashfurs body is found. The video cuts to Squirrelflight glancing at a sharp object hinting that he was murdered.
Squirrelflight didn't truthfully forgive ashfur. She hated him for trying to kill the cats she's loved as her own. So that final scene is one of her true feelings. She wanted to be done with him so. And she believed with him now gone, she could hide who killed him and the secret of the trios birth would stay hidden.
FYI the trios birth mother is actually Squirrelflight's sister Leafpool who is not allowed to have children due to her role as a medicine cat.

heres the lil dose of context on their story:
Squirrelflight and ashfur had a very bad kind of relationship. Ashfur had a very big crush on her and mightve actually been dating for awhile, but squirrelflight left him for some other cat for a handful of reasons, one of them being that ashfur treated her like a baby and was obsessive. One day he trapped her and her children in a forest fire, forcing her to confess that the children weren't hers before he let her go. (The kittens were her sisters, but she always said they were her own to protect her sister.) One of the children hunted him down and killed him before he could call squirrelflight out in front of everyone. This MAP takes place after his death and shows a scenereo where she forgives him and he learns to move on in the afterlife.
Adding onto what you said, I don’t remember who but someone in the comment section of the original video explained that the ending of the video is a symbolism of Squirrelflight acknowledging that despite the fact that she forgave Ashfur so that they could both move on, he still did some pretty messed up things (the needle thing with blood represents that time when Ashfur helped another cat in his attempt to kill Squirrelflight’s dad “to make her feel the same pain she caused him” and the spark thing represents the fire when he tried to kill her adopted-but-known-to-be-hers-at-the-time kids), his death is on his own hands and Squirrelflight is not responsible for it (aka wiping his blood off on his pelt) (hope that wasn’t overwhelming I’m just really excited when people outside of the fandom reacts to Warrior cats stuff)

It is super cool and popular and the art is amazing, but seriously that is one of the most confusing MAPs ever ESPECIALLY to someone like him who hasn’t ever actually read the series😅It’s really got a lot going on
The gray one is ashfur and the orange one is Squirrelflight. And I believe the song is in French
You should read the books, they are awesome and will explain a lot, the first series is 'The Prophecies Begin' and the first of it is called 'Into the Wild'

I advise for you to watch Cell Block Tango (by Araxie) { ua-cam.com/video/sC9c7So_It4/v-deo.html }, it just recently premiered yesterday, and if I'm honest, one of the best animated MAPs I have ever seen.
It has a warning in the beginning of the video, I have so many MAPs that I love, but Cell Block Tango is one of the best.
