Btw I found the piano piece - it's Chopin's Mazurka in Fm in it's GORGEOUS - I knew it was Chopin the moment I saw/heard it but I didn't actually know what piece it was - and it was actually pretty hard to find. Fun fact, Chopin was Polish, and so he fits right into this game and it's such a cool little easter egg!
She actually said it was Mazurka in the video cuz it said it on the sheet, it's too bad you missed that part!
Music was created by Bloober and Silent Hill soundtrack maker - Akira Yamaoka, btw ;)
You beat me to the comment! I had to play that along with his fantasie-impromptu and scherzo number 3 in high school. High school was rough on me for many reasons now that I think on it 😂😂😂
English wiki says its called mazurka, but seriously dont know why its changed when polish word for that is mazurek.
Adding on to this, since I was just looking it up myself: "mazurka" itself isn't just a single piece of music, but a style of music/dance native to Poland. (To quote: "a musical form based on stylised folk dances in triple meter.") Although this particular piece from Chopin does seem to be the big one from this style. I saw a few mazurka pieces credited to Tchaikovsky as well.
In case anyone needs to hear this: just because you were hurt in the past does not mean you are bound to become a bad person. Bloober's games have a tendency of portraying people with past traumas under a bad light, so I'm just throwing it out there. Take care everyone, be kind to each other ♥
This is a very important message, thank you for writing it
That is not the thing. He was good in the heart (kid Richard), it's war that broke him. That's why "monster" took control. It gained access to his mind as portraied "cancer" grew during all bad things
It's also good to keep in mind that their characters never look for help, never share their burden with others. Every single one bottles up their trauma and lets it fester into a cancer that consumes and warps them over time. So reach out, seek help if you need it.
every cut in our soul can lead to 2 outcomes. we either embrace it and plant a seed of love in it. or it will be filled with hatred and loss.
our soul can either grow into a garden of love, peace and empathy, or a desert of hatred, anger and self-loathing that is so thirsty for love and attention (which must first come from ourselves to ourselves) that it scares and often harms others like a black-hole.
from a young age, I felt so hated by the God. because I became diabetic at 10 and was ridiculed by my classmates because of it. now that I look back and meditate on myself, my true and weak self that hides within me, it craves for the love that I should have gave myself. I truly love me without condition now. even though I now have Celiac and hyperthyroidism too I feel less angry and alone. because I now have me besides the family and friends that I always had.
that's why I feel very very great empathy with lost people. and I also pity them. only themselves can help them and they don't know it...
Everyone deserves a second chance after all
i like how 50 minutes in Gab was like "should I stop here?" and then the whole video is almost 2 hours long
@@Tiny_Gardens lmao same :"D But sometimes she puts 2 days of playing in 1 video so that was another option. But nope. :'D
So I'm pretty sure that most of the documents that you were going through in this part were talking about Thomas and a lot of them were written by Richard. Sadness is probably either some part of Lilianne or is her entirely I think and is Thomas' daughter. Thomas clearly has powers similar to Marianne's but a bit different. It sounded like from one of the documents in there that Lily also had the ability to see and interact with the other side, just like her father. I also think that the reason that Thomas and Marianne both exist in both worlds is because they both went through some kind of horrifying near-death experience as kids. Marianne was burnt as a 3 year old and one of the documents said Thomas was a survivor of the Warsaw Rebellion I think, which killed his parents. It sounds like the difference between his powers and Marianne's is that he gets power from fire that is from rage, pain, guilt, and grief, while Marianne draws power from light that is from more positive emotions. In addition, Thomas can tear people's souls apart and Marianne can put them back together and facilitate them passing on. I'm pretty sure that Richard ended up being the one to kill Lily after what he'd done to her and that in his form as the Childeater he tore some of her soul apart as well, and that's why she only remembers being Sadness. Although that could also be Maw who is doing that as well or Thomas himself by accident, I'm not really sure. Maw did say that he ate all of her friends and now she's all alone and she belongs to him. Not sure what that means but it doesn't sound good. I don't think Marianne is leaving Lilianne/Sadness behind, but going to uncover more at the Red House, hopefully to come back and help Sadness before she leaves. That's the thoughts that I have anyway, as someone who doesn't know the full story and is trying to put the pieces together from these two episodes. Sorry if that was really disorganized and kind of a ramble and weird.
I think that was a really nice explanation.
I am also seeing a playthrough of Medium for the first time. Even though I think I understood most of it, your explanation really helped put the pieces together!
What confused me was that at the end Marianne said: "it was me". But what I understand is that she is not Lili/Sad nor Thomas's daughter, but one of the kids at Niwa, and she's gonna find out what the hell is up.
What if... the Maw... IS Thomas? Like something happened to Thomas' spirit self and it got twisted into being a demon? Or he encountered a demon he couldn't defeat and was turned into the Maw?(⊙o⊙)\(〇_o)/
@@silverwolfmachilus7573 oh god that just opened up another perspective of the story O_o
@@silverwolfmachilus7573 That would explain the "let me in" he says O:
@@silverwolfmachilus7573 That's definitely possible. It would make some sense. Maybe if Thomas' mortal body died then his spirit self would have become torn apart. Maybe he accidentally tore his own soul into two pieces, just like he's done to other people. MAYBE THE MAW IS HIS OWN GRIEF ABOUT LILIANNE! That would explain why Maw hasn't eaten Lily yet and also why he was talking about how she was the only one left and that she was all his now. Maybe Maw is extremely overprotective of Lily, at the same time that it is hungry to get into other people's souls.
Previous episode: "I love you, tree!"
This episode: "I love you, bolt cutters!"
The Maw is Guillermo del Toro-esque and love it. It's voiced by Troy Baker... which threw me for a loop.
That’s Troy!? Damn he’s more amazing than I already thought
What's more amazing is the distortion in the Maw's voice isn't digital. Troy is doing that himself. I saw a clip of him in the recording booth.
I thought Thomas sounded like TB too!
I hadn't even put two and two together. I had no idea that was Troy!!!! What an amazing actor.
Nani? Really?
Im so grateful and impressed that the developers were so skilled and compassionate enough to be able to portray these traumatic things WITHOUT literal visuals. Hollywood needs to take a page out of this.
This!!!
Yeah. You can just hear it in their voices: Marianne catching on, Richard's horror, Thomas's wrath and Sadness' terror. We feel sorry for each one of them.
Yeah, I don't want to see that shit 👌
“I’m in the normal world so you can’t hurt me”
The monster: Very poor choice of words.
If three push-ups is her average and she upped it to seven, that is really good! And 10 kg from 4kg over the course of a couple months is progress. Nice job Gabs, you should be proud of yourself.
When Marianne said, "That girl... It's me" she was talking about the picture of herself she just picked up. Not about Sadness. I think that may have confused you a bit. The pic shows that Marianne was at some point in her life at Niwa.
Sadness is (a part of) Lilianne. I think from there you'll have some suspicions about who Lilianne is. I hope it helps. It gets really good from here.
really? - reached the part with the...
...red house - I guess...
the burning house just about to try find a way in
and still really confused despite having so far found every document/memory/etc as it seem
mfg
Olli
@@SPEEDY4004 I was wondering...
I thought the red house might mean “burning house” considering that Maryanne is covered in burn scars. Which means she was at Niwa before the age of three -as that is when she was found-
I honestly think lilianne Is Marianne. That she lost part of her self she can’t remember since she was 3 she got burned right ? So now she’s finding her past ? I’m not sure but that’s the vibe I’m getting from the first vid to this second
Gab looks like a playable character in "Dead by Daylight" or "Until Dawn".
She looks like Sam from Until Dawn haha
It's that comfy cosy look :)
Right?
Looks like a limited skin for nea
She does!
I have actually never heard about this game before Gab played it and today when I saw Thomas I was like "I know that guy!". It turns out that two main characters are based on a real polish actors - Marcin Dorociński and Weronika Rosati. Cool.
There's a lot of Polish references in this. The spirit realm act style is based off of a Polish artist's, Zdzisław Beksiński, style. It reminds of Remedy's games where they work with a lot of fellow Finnish artists and actors.
Being an uncle myself, I'm flinching and cringing at listening to a girl saying "Uncle Richard" in this game.
Νοt so relevant to the game, but I'm a make up artist, I'm sorry, I couldn't resist😂😂😂 Our neck (or at least the upper part of it), is always lighter than our face and body. And that's because our chin creates shade. So, most of the time it's not exposed to the sun. So, the best thing to do, during winter times, when we are light skinned, is to test our foundation to match the shade of the upper part of our neck . And in summer times, it's best to match it with the base of our neck, because it does get some tan, as well. It's still lighter from the rest of the body, but for sure it's tanned. You can always give more depth and darker shade, by strategically adding some bronzer. And, a bonus golden rule, that applies all year long. Always, test your foundation, at daytime, close to a window, or natural light. And make sure, you keep it for a couple of hours to check if has oxidized ( it's getting an orangey hue to it, or, it gets darker than when first applied).
That’s such solid advice, thank you!!
@@GabSmolders Oh my God, thank you so much for replying ❤️ I love you and your videos! I'm really enjoying them, they always make me smile 😊😊 You are a breath of fresh air 🙏🏻 BB too🐱🐱❤️
Wow thank you. I didn't know that. So cool. ;o;
So fucking excited for this since the first episode of this dropped. This game is awesome. I love its aesthetic. I can definitely see what you mean about it having some control vibes.
Dang...it's way harder to make a recap than i thought. This is going to be long and might not even answer your questions but hopefully it gives you some insight!
So far, what you know is that Maryanne was adopted by Jack when she was little, but you do not know the exact age. You also know that she suffered in some sort of burn/fire accident when she was 3 and was hospitalized for it. While we might not know when she was adopted, we can at least assume there was a period where she was with her birth/other family; just do not know why she is not with them anymore or what happened to them.
Thomas is the man who called us to come to Niwa, who designed and built the place. He is also the father of Lilly, Lillanne, or who we first met as sadness. He knows about Maryanne and her abilities for some reason, but we have just learned that he is very similar to her; his soul-self is independent though. He was also taken in by Richard when he was very young, at least in the way that he became a father figure to him. Thomas lost his parents when he was young as well, so in a way Richard is like what Jack was to Maryanne.
We know that Richard used to draw pictures based on what Thomas would see in the spirit world, and after the Niwa was built, he was invited to stay there. Before the events between Richard and Lilly, he had a sort of relationship with the Nurse working at Niwa. After the events however, what Thomas did to him leaves him catatonic and the Nurse takes care of him.
At that point, everything seems to start to go bad at Niwa and we also earlier got the cut scene about the nurse killing Richard while she was taking care of him. If you have been listening to the MAW, he wants to wear your skin. During the bloody wheelchair scene, Maryanne makes a comment about this and I believe we can say that the MAW took over the nurse and that was the first time it killed.
Ending with the “Red House” and the picture she found, you now know that she has been at Niwa before. You just do not know when but that draws a connection to Thomas and how he might know her. I do not think the picture you found is meant to say that sadness is you and that you are sadness, I think it’s just there to let you know that you’ve been there before, before everything went horribly wrong.
This is the quickest rundown I could manage from watching the last parts of this again. Apologies if this is just as confusing : So basically Thomas is also a medium, and he learned he could do things to souls (the child eater mentioned butcher, so probably kill?) Lily, who we can only assume to be sadness, was hurt by Richard, who was a trusted friend of Thomas. Thomas, rightfully being upset, uses his spirit side to "break" into Richards soul and see what he the dark secrets he had and all the anger and guilt that was built up inside him, that he never let go. One of which was his friend Rose was Jewish and probably died from starvation and it was the last person he trusted seeing as his step father hurt his mother. Spirit Thomas then goes out to find spirit Richard and kill (or subdue? Butcher?) him, which would make now Richard a hollowed out person, but his inner demons are now free to come and destroy everyone and everything in its past. How this to relate to Marianne is that they are connected more than we thought... But showing the photo of her as a kid...in this place, it implies that she has probably been here before, and that there is a chance that she is more connected to this place than she thought. She just doesn't remember or maybe trauma blocked it out.
tl;dr : Thomas is a medium, but his powers are a bit more sinister. We find out Richard lost his dad, had an abusive step father, and a Jewish friend that died and/or was taken away cause she was Jewish. This broke Richard. He saw Lily as Rose and became infatuated to the point where he hurt her. Richard hurt Thomas's daughter, and Thomas wanted to kill him, but Spirit Thomas found a more permanent way to get revenge. With Richard soul gone, the childeater is stronger than ever but it (the childeater) remembers / recognizes Marianne. Marianne then finds a photo of herself and sees she is more connected to this place and now has to figure out why... at the red house.
Ive reread that so many times that I confused myself again but I hope this helps. If anyone else has a butter run down / any corrections please let me know lol
I thought that Richards mother from what she said reported the stepfather for hiding the family of Rose. As it was shown when the energy was gotten. Back in those days you couldn’t get divorced easily.
@@harm0ny696 Yes, stepfather was a traitor, he denounced Rose and her family (Jewish), they were killed by Germans because of him. Polish army (what was left of it under country occupation) punished this treason with death. This is damn grim part of our history....
@@harm0ny696 I agree Richards mom reported it to "take care" of StepFather. But I wonder if Rose's family was there because of Step Father or because of Richards mom. That isn't clear (at least to me). I'm also under the impression that the men who hanged StepFather also killed Rose & her family, but am I wrong in that assumption? Curious what others think..
@@itsmemidge5354 I think there wasn't a family and Richard's mom just planted false evidence as a way of getting rid of the step father. I think Rose was alone hiding in the maze.
Also, I think the Maw is a different monster to the child eater. And I think the line "let me in" is a hint to it...
@@Shadow8Star I also agree with that. At first I thought maybe it was the moms fault that Rose died and maybe there was a step father connection but I really just think it was a unfortunate coincidence in the case and the mom needed the step dad gone ASAP. Planting fake evidence was the best solution back in the day...
the blood spatter on the pool walls looks like arterial burst, that’s when the blood has huge droplets but doesn’t go very far. most likely comes from a neck wound since the carotid artery carries the most blood (besides the femoral in your thigh)
I know your comment is two years old, and when I'm making this comment is about 45 minutes in so I'm not sure if it comes up again, but:
In the pool, Gab missed an echo that talked about how a nurse killed the children in there. Which would make sense given the blood spatters. And then I guess Ursula killed that patient (T) with a scalpel, probably the same way.
32:52 this is something everyone needs to hear...also as a person with a deadname this makes me feel so valid to the point of tearing up
This is late as fuck and it might be rude as fuck of me to ask (I'm so sorry if I am) but I'm so curious .. what is a deadname? And how does this happen?
@@serakayle7903 a dead name is the name it was given to a transgender (or non-binary) person at birth and that they no longer use because it's referred to another sex and to another identity in some way (that's why the word "dead"). it's not mandatory so if you have an unisex name (for example Alex) you might not want to change that or if your fine with your "birth-name", that's totally fine too. of course every people deal with this process in different ways but in general people with a dead name don't want people to call them with taht
@@riccardodeho2680 Ik I'm a year late but I just wanted to add that cis people can have deadnames, too. It's not as common for a cis person to change their first name, but my dad's best friend changed his to Geat and that's just his name now. No one calls him by his given name except his parents. :)
What I really appreciate is how the traumatic situations are handled. The screams, the obsessive drawings, we even got little bits of the ballerina's manager to gauge what kind of person he was - Not outright explicit showing, telling or over explaining. It's quite clear what's happening and it's enough.
I love how Marianne's power comes from happy memories and and Thomas's come from unhappy memories. So interested to see where this goes.
please don't make these episodes shorter, this feels like the perfect length
Don’t know if anyone answered this one yet, but at 4:44 the type of wound that would cause that pattern would be arterial. Aka It’s the pressure from a compromised artery that gives it that look.
The story is definitely getting more in-depth! I feel so bad for what happened to Lilianne (Lily, Sadness) and the pain and suffering she had to have experienced. I also feel bad for the suffering Richard experienced in his childhood but that doesn't give him an out for how horrible he became later in his life and what he did to Thomas by harming/killing Lily in his obsession with her.
As someone who is blindly experiencing the game through Evelien's playthrough, I'm really glad that she asked us for a spoiler-free recap of all that's been shown thus far 'cause I ended up being lost with the plotline, too ♡ Lots of sad feelings so far, though... Rose and Richard's friendship also very briefly reminded me of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas film.
I love that you’re playing this game. You know if gabs plays it she’ is going to finish the game. Loves this series!
44:42
Gab: „Just don’t throw it away like in a hidden object game”
Me who came from stream “HOG HOG HOG”: yeah 😂😂
Just thought I should let you know that my father and I have been watching this play through together. He usually is against UA-cam but he actually likes when I watch you. (Have caught him watching a few times) and this time he put you on himself without me having to ask!
He gave a few small chuckles and as my father is reserved- that says a lot. 🤣 I really like this game (although I’d be too scared to play it myself). Thank you!
You mentioned you were looking for a shade of foundation with a different undertone, so I'd like to recommend Revolution. They do a foundation that has pale shades in several undertones. I think it's called Conceal and Define, and there's a matching concealer. I believe Elf also does pale shades with different undertones. In both of those brands, I use the lightest shade with a neutral undertone, so unfortunately I don't know which shades to recommend for you since it sounds like we need something different.
You doing so good even with this story! most things will be explained soon, so don't worry about losing track !
One of the things I can explain is that rose was most likely hidden by Ryszard's mother and his stepfather told people about her, in Poland at that time when someone collaborated with the occupiers, nazis he was hanged, Ryszard probably blamed himself for everything at that time that he could not protect anyone, the name lili also comes from a type of flower like rose and he became obsessed.
@@grusia Thank you! Both of you! I was looking for this comment. So many people have no idea about Polish history during WWII especially about how our grandparents and their parents hide Jews from the occupant and how much the Underground State cared about it. That's frankly so much essential to fully understand the horror of that time.
Bloober Team did a great job with this game, but in some cases they should be more direct especially when it comes to Polish culture, tradition or history that is unknow for most of the non-Polish people.
Thank you I was so confused on the history of Poland
I wonder....Lilianne and Marianne. What if they're sisters? Dad is a medium, passes down medium powers to kids. That'd also be why Thomas kept up with her and how he knows so much about her.
Fun fact: Troy Baker voiced The Maw... I love this game!
Important thing to remember: Richard said Marianne smells the same as Lily and Lily is possibly the other spirit dude's kid? Maybe they were experimenting with the kids in this place and somehow Lily and Marianne got his powers?
That voice actor for Thomas Rekowicz tho...... on those emotional scenes? Dayum.
Such a fuckin good game so far! I love how Thomas' spirit level reminded me of Alice Madness Returns' level designs, focusing a lot on the big environments and that's really cool.
War time truly is heartbreaking. The part where Rose died is basically because Richard's mother, out of good intention for her and Richard's well-being, exposed the hide-outs of the Jews pinning the stepfather as a Collaborator. It's so sad how children are so entangled into the horrors of war and they couldn't even understand why a thing or other is happening. :( Truly heavy themes here but I'm thankful for the trigger warnings. Thanks Gab for playing this and bringing us along for the ride! Stay safe!
I really love how Marianne is very empathetic towards Sadness. She plays with her, tries to cheer her up and constantly says she will protect her. Sadness is a little girl, and she wants her to be free.
I didn't see anyone else mention it, so: Thomas' pocket watch says on the back, "Our Love Is Timeless."
Additionally, that poster in the background of the Thomas/Richard flashback says, "Richard Tarkowski - Polish surreal artist," which seems to clarify what Richard's profession was. (I'm sure details on Richard have already been thoroughly explained by the time I'm posting this, but just wanted to point out the poster.)
As dark as this episode gets, I really love this kind of stuff in a story. Exploring the darker parts of the human psyche is both terrifying and fascinating, and with a supernatural twist in this game, it's right up my alley. Definitely looking forward to seeing more, and hoping there's some more closure on Sadness and other aspects of this episode's contents.
I'm so into the story, damn I want so many answers!!! Now the red house... What are we going to uncover? I need to knooooow!!! XD
So good, can’t wait for the next one!! Thank you for playing these games I’m too scared to play myself
That moth monster literally sounds like HIM from Powerpuff Girls
Well, the Maw's voice is suppose to be more gender neutral. And HIM is very similar.
@@wahlflower3517 considering him dressed like a female santa. xD loved that ppg villain. very creative design.
Random makeup side note- The Fenty cream blush is AMAZING, and looks SO NATURAL. Can help to brighten up a fair complexion. Sometimes I'll just put blush on and nothing else, makes me look awake :)
The voice for the Maw literally makes me sick with fear D:
the quote "if your early you're on time" 36:15. I heard it as a military kid. Looking it up and no one can agree on the true origin due to similar versions dating back to the 1800. the general agreement is that it started/ most common used in the military. the full quote is "If you're early you're on time, if you're on time you're late, if you're late that's unacceptable"
As another military brat I can confirm, I heard this often and stick to it to this day.
Lol theater kids adopted that too. Tho it’s “if you’re late you’re dead” rather than unacceptable.
i know it's polish but this voice acting is so good, so much emotion!
Haha, I bet Troy Baker had fun recording his lines for the demon creature / “Maw” 🤣👏
I wouldn't be surprised if he came up with some of the lines himself. He was very excited to play a role like the Maw because he's never done something like it before.
The Maw's head reminds me of the Angel of Death from Hellboy 2. Guillermo, you are a master.
This story is goooooood, original setting, characters and world-building are the best.
I agree with a vast majority of the comments, you're going to expose so much in the coming episode(s) everything will start piecing together. You have all the right information right now, you're just not aware of how it fits together. I can't wait until you finish so everyone can discuss theories in the comments without worries of spoilers.
As soon as I heard about this game I hoped you'd play it. So glad that you are because you tend to put things together much better than other LPs I watch. You're so close! I'm so excited!
Also your note on how Thomas & Spirit Thomas aren't connected the same way Marianne is was spot on & cool to see you get Right Away. It took me a while to understand (and will be explained better later).
OOOOHHH I l o v e this lip colour on you Gab!!! So pretty!
Ugghhh Richard makes me feel physically sick. That little girl...
Can I just say how much I love your outfit??? Because I *love* your outfit!
Hi gab i have a little fun fact for you the reason why sadness is communicating through the radio is because spirit box's use white noise for the spirits voice to come through and communicate.
So the masks are like apart of the spirit. There identity, and when removed the spirits trapped unable to move on. By bringing the mask back and saying there name it helps them remember who they are and to move on. That's probably why she hasn't told sadness her true name cause when she does sadness will probably move on.
Also! The "family heirloom" from waaay back in Marianne's childhood bedroom is about 3rd degree burns from BEFORE she was adopted. Just saying.
The environment of this game is so fucking nice. It’s my favorite thing about this game so far. There is something about big old buildings with huge windows that feel so comforting. 20:32 - just imagine knowing something could just *pop* out a mirror at any moments notice and just kill you. Terrifying. Subtle moments like around the 26:00 mark and seeing Marianne covering her mouth to not make noise to alert maw. More games need these details!
36:27 - I always grew up with “if you’re early, you’re late” and that has been a blessing and curse my entire life lol. The scenes between Richard and Thomas. I was so tense the entire time. I could feel the anger. The sadness. So much pain. Also knowing history... I can tell this was very hard for them to write. Fuck this story hits deep. It does a lot of implying what happens but oof. I’m so excited for more though.
Dayum, girl! Good on you for working hard to stay in shape! I've been working on my pushups for a couple weeks and it's really cool how quickly it goes when you do it on a regular basis. Love this serie so far, btw. It's the perfect kind of creepy!
so awesome how you appreciate every detail of the game. Not just another someone rushing to finish a game on a list. Love your videos and need a lot of catching up to do as I only recently discovered your channel. Thank you for all the effort you put in! Baie dankie!
I've only been watching your videos for a couple months now but I am so glad I found you! I love watching you play all these beautiful detailed games that are too creepy for me to play by myself lol. I love games with really intricate storylines. You always find the coolest games to play! Looking forward to watching more 😀
I love the symbolism of the resort name. Niwa in polish means farmland/cultivated land or the specialty of your business.
The Maw seems like a metaphor for deep debilitating depression.
Edit: I bet because he hid his powers, the powers just grew out of control and gained a personality of its own?
Loving the playthrough so far, and I just wanted to say I'm proud of you for your workout gains! Keep up the great work, all around :)
This is sooo good! I'm really excited to see where to story goes from here. Love when you play these dark Lovecraftian-ish games!
I absolutely love this game! It is so so so good and I’m so hooked on the storyline. This one was definitely a tear jerker towards the end. I hope to see more soon. And btw, I love the long episodes! ❤️
If you’re looking for warm undertones, I would actually recommend going neutral or even a more yellow or brown undertone, not pink. Surprisingly, pink is a cool undertone! You can also ofc warm your face up with blush or a light bronzer if you like. Anyway, I love your content! And I’m really excited to see another lady who’s into both makeup and horror games, it’s great!
Been watching you for a while (thanks random interest in Japanese horror games) - but I am HOOKED on this series. Your commentary is great, this game is amazing, cannot wait for the next one!
I'm so invested in this story! Can't wait for Gab to play more.
I love this playthrough. It's great getting an exciting drop every day, since you're hitting us with Stardew tomorrow!
After watching these two episodes fully I feel like the animation through mocap is done perfectly, but there's still facial work that could be done. I may have been too hard on it at first as it's a lot more impressive overall than I thought and I'm really enjoying the story and trying to piece it all together.
When Thomas... killed Richard's spirit I genuinely got uncomfortable
This was totally an intense section of the game. D: Even tho what he did is still absolutely unforgivable, I'm glad that the devs went through the trouble of humanizing Richard so you kind of see what could have lead him down this path while also wishing he didn't fall to it since he seemed like a decent person otherwise. (and that trauma could have just made him more compassionate) I'm also a little confused about what happened at the end with Richard's memories.. Like were THEY the ones hiding the Jewish family or did his mom know they were hiding out close by and frame the stepdad by saying he knew and was sheltering them?? I'll have to read through the comments and see if anyone explains it.
I'm also wondering if Thomas's split spirit is because of a type of response to trauma by disassociating? 🤔
And I forgot to mention this in the last video, but I'm wondering if the masks everyone is wearing was inspired by the times people would make death masks of people after they passed away.
On a more personal note, obviously anything about the Holocaust is always so upsetting (as it always should be), but I felt a little shook since my Grandma on my dad's side actually had to flee from Poland during the war because she was Jewish. I think for a time she even had to hide in someone's basement until there was a chance to continue her and her surviving family members' escape. I wasn't very close to her for reasons I won't get into, and it might have been too traumatic to recount anyway and I wouldn't blame her for that, but if anything I wish I could have heard this story from her first hand and learned about any family that weren't as fortunate to kind of keep their memory alive. Anyways, always remember to punch a Nazi.
First off I think you look so incredibly beautiful with your new foundation color and look and everything! You're slaying girl! Secondly hearing about your workouts and slow build to 7 pushups. I've had decent health issues that've made me very weak almost bed ridden at times. And I used to be so fit and now it's hard to get back into things. To hear you slowly work your way up and everything. Just the slow journey. Makes me feel really encouraged that Its okay to slowly work up to things. Thank you for that and your content that always brings me joy !!!
I suggest to wait till you go further in the game. It explain everything. For me for example will be difficult to answer your questions without spoiler.
God I’m loving this game, even if it has sad moments. It feels like a tv show and I love your commentary (as always!). I don’t have an Xbox so I wouldn’t have experienced this game otherwise.
The voice of the Maw makes me think that the voice actor was emulating Tim Curry :) really splendid work by everyone on this game
I now know it is Troy Baker lol, bless that man
Tempted as I am to look at other gameplays, I like your style of gameplay. Will wait for part 3, thanks for this G.
Gab flash light : *flickering intensely like a disco ball*
Maw : where aaaarreeee YOOooOoOuuUuUU
I'm really enjoying this series gab!
I cant wait for more of this game!! Also you look great Gab!! Keep playing awesome games :)
This game is awesome. Can't wait to watch the rest
So enjoying these episodes. Side note congratulations on your work out progress! As someone with no upper body strength to speak of, I am happy for your gains!
I am LOVING this series!!
Yo, the scene with Thomas and Spirit Thomas gave me chills.
About Polish pronunciation:
we always read letter "w" as "v"
You handled this episode really well. It's not easy to experience, and it did it a lot of justice. Thanks for that. Great job again, Evelien.
You look great gab! That foundation is amazing! I feel that “omg I’m so pale” though, as a Scandinavian I feel that “no sun and COVID” paleness haha.. also.. I’m loving this series! Much love!
Glad you're enjoying the game! I was hoping you'd catch the Alice In Wonderland reference when you picked up the cat statue and the photo of the girl looking into the mirror in the locker.
I've never heard of that voice actor, but the fact that he can do that with his voice with no help is really impressive
Oh yeah. I'm really invested in this now. Can't wait for the next one
The voice acting is sooo good
Hey Gabs! I love your videos and have been following you for awhile now. I hate trying new foundations and trying to find the right match. The Rare Beauty Skin has some really amazing lightweight and easy to skin match. It honestly doesn’t feel like wearing makeup and it blends really well. I know not game related but I love it 🤣 definitely with pink undertone would be helpful!
The game is giving me very strong Silent Hill vibes and I love it! Even the music reminds me of SH. Really enjoying your playthrough, Gab!
7 PUSH UPS! Girl watching you do this fitness thing from day one has me so fxckin impressed.
Oh, and great game ;)
Thomas is a badass. This game is so awesome looking. I love the style of it so much!
I love the outfit and makeup today! It looks great on you
I'm so excited about this game. I haven't heard about it until a polish youtuber i watch posted his playthrough. I wasn't sure if i wanted to watch it though. Then Gab posts her and I knew I had to. It's so weirdly nice seeing people get excited about a polish game. I think it's a polish mentality. We all hate our country until a good game/movie/book comes out and the rest of the world sings us praises. Then we're all patriotic as hell. 😂
Spot on haha
Your outfit today is so cool! Have a great weekend gab!
I legit wait for this every morning to watch before Trade school
That breath holding mechanic looks just like Detention's! God, I miss that game... Is one of those I wish I could forget just to watch it fresh again...
I think the makeup looks way more natural. It's not as pale as you think. I love it!! :)
