So are you just not gonna acknowledge your support of transphobia?
really david, your seriously supporting a franchise that funds hurting trans people? as a long time trans viewer I'm very disappointed in you and have decided to unsubscribe.
@@Baxiel It's so much worse than just transphobia, which in itself is bad enough. But Rowling has actively liked tweets calling for transgenocide.
@@thaliacrafts407 and anti semetism
you fucked up the how to drink recipe
For the final recipe, I noticed you whipped egg white and sugar when it should have been egg yolk and sugar. The egg yolk is important as it gives a creamier texture to your butterbeer and it holds 'emulsifies" the butter when added later a lot better. The egg yolks also help to color the butterbeer.
You could have wrapped the ginger and cloves into a muslin cloth bag or simply strained the liquid before drinking.
The reason for the separate layer of butter is because your beer was too hot so when you added in the egg white/sugar mixture, it did not emulsify properly to hold onto the butter when it was added.
I DIED INSIDE WHEN I SAW THAT 🤣
The recipe was also half a stick of butter, not a full stick. I understand how it was confusing though, as the 'how to drink' video, he first says 'stick of butter', then quickly corrects to say 'half a stick', and it shows just half a stick going in.
Yeah that final recipe was a bit more technical and kinda got away from him a bit ^_^ The how to drink vid wasn't super specific though, Max Miller's vid was better.
Lets pause for a moment and respect the fact that Stephen might have traveled on public transit dressed as a wizard.
10/10 hilarious realization
I love when Stephen makes a cameo and offers a differing opinion!
I agree with Stephen, a warm spiced, buttery, beer sounds comforting, more than a butterscotch flavored sugary soda
Make the recipes and let stephan review them. Lol. He's such a fan favorite. Hah
How fun would that be?! Oh! Make him three different crunch wraps?
Hey David you can always half recipes! It’s a little extra work but it saves on food waste and money ☺️
Yessss! H2D is another one of my favorite channels. ❤
Anything that you might be able to pull from SortedFood? Another splendid channel.
Thank you for this great episode!
Glad to have you back!
Stephen is great. Bring him more to taste test stuff.
Welcome back! Love the Stephen cameos.
Universal nailed butterbeer for me. After reading the books (a few times) it tastes exactly like I imagined. Love that Babish figured it out!
You did the last one wrong it's egg yolks not the whites. You essentially make a beery eggnog. It's super unxious and thick and lovely
“ this would be the one. I hope that is waiting for me after a long day of wizardry.”……
Love it!!!
Hi there, really enjoyed the video.
I think you would have enjoyed the Tudor version better if you had used egg yolks instead of the whites, like was used in the recipe. Ground ginger and cloves would also solve the problem of floaters, if you ever want to make this again.
Cheers!
...or strain it into the glass!
He did it wrong. The recipe in the info box says yolks just like the original recipe 😅😅
Don't feel bad, you're NOT underdressed if you're wearing Hufflepuff colors! I wish Universal made rugby shirts for the houses. I'd love to have one that says 'Diggory' on the back.
You're boyfriend is very funny, please keep inviting him on the channel
Your*
Love this 🙌
Stephen is so funny. I love his humor and the way he speaks your energies match so well
I'm headed to universal in 3 weeks this is good timing for me, thanks man, I've heard of butter beer once or twice before just forgot about it. Now I definitely gotta try
"After a long day of wizardry" 🤣🤣
I love the Rocket Money app. I’m happy they sponsor you
Mulled beer with sugar and egg is delicious and an actual historical drink. Also you should always pour it through a strainer before drinking, obviously you don't want parts of the ginger and cloves in your mouth...😅
This video made me crave butter beer so much! The second recipe looks the best so it makes sense it would also taste the best as well
Y’all are so cute!!
Universal Florida? Obligatory *David Seymour was recorded in front of a live studio audience in Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios Florida!* So many great shows from Global Guts to Legends of the Hidden Temple were filmed there. They even did a time capsule there in 1992! It's a shame Nickelodeon decided to get rid of their game show content, move to California, and closed it in 2005 (ironically on the 13th anniversary of the time capsule). The time capsule moved to Nickelodeon Suites nearby...but when the Holiday Inn decided to get rid of the Nickelodeon branding that made the resort popular, the time capsule had to be moved AGAIN to its current location in California. I can at least say I'm a proud owner of a sheet of Nick Studios toilet paper from 1990 opening year. The toilet paper was special as it had the Nick Studios logo on it but because it was special, people kept taking it and so it was replaced with normal paper quickly).
Honestly kudos to Universal Creative for hitting it out of the park with the Wizarding World. The idea of making the Hogwarts Express a park-hop service between Islands of Adventure/Hogsmeade and USF/Diagon Alley is genius. And despite looking like an actual steam train...it's NOT! It's a PEOPLE MOVER system in DISGUISE!
Good to see you back!
I've tried the How to Drink one. I'd recommend adding some vanilla and a citrus peel. Also definitely filter out while pouring.
This man use Boylan cream soda for the Babish version, then went and used Fat Tire for the historical Buttered Beer from HtD.
Now you've done it, David. I'm gonna have to buy some butterscotch schnapps ALL BECAUSE OF YOU! ...and wanting to try Bab Bush's recipe for butterbeer...
Also, your dimples when Stephen came down the stairs...!
How to Drink in here? Now worlds are colliding
that Jets diss was mad accurate, but completely uncalled for
YAAAAY so happy you are back!!
there used to be a beer called michael shaes. it was awesome.
Y’all are so cute together 🥺😭 I’m so happy for you david, glad you enjoyed the time off too 💕
That last recipe kind of sounds like eggnog with beer. I wonder if you could just mix the two and heat it up! 😂
I really like the hot version which is basically butterscotch hot chocolate.
10:56 you're a wizard Harry
Ugh that first one looked so bad 🤢 the curdled bits
I was surprised that the butterscotch wasn’t warmed so the butter melted in. That would have made more sense.
hihi tysm for coming back!!!! xxxx
you should try buttered coffee. Literally just coffee (with sugar if you like but I wouldn't recommend cream or milk, you won't really need it anyway probably) & about a teaspoon of butter. Delicious! Gives the coffee a real nutty flavor.
Could you do this with browned butter?
@@cyan_2169 I've never tried it but I don't see why not! Sounds like it would be really good!
You two dressed in yr wizarding cloaks are just killing me.
So adorable💚
Maybe you could try clarifying the butter beer using some lemon juice and straining it. I bet babish's recipe will look and taste better
I was hoping Stephen was going to show up
Dang was really thinking about butter beer yo
Did you forget the egg yolks in the last one ? They should be able to emulsify the butter, I made a small batch of HTDs butter beer (using one egg) and didn't have any butter floating on top. I agree though, its a bit of an acquired taste
Yay! I'm so happy you're back, and with Stephen!
Considering how many things in the wizarding world was old school, I'd guess that last one is what they'd serve. If I were to make one of these, I think I'd try Babish's version. Also, the alcohol usually "sanitizes" the eggs in drinks like that, although a longer contact time would be better. Alternatively you can pasteurize eggs, but I don't know if that affects their frothing.
eating raw eggs is low risk if you kept it refrigerated (assuming you're American) and finish it off while it's cool. The amount booze and acids in a mixed drink aren't going to kill bacteria on/in eggs.
JK Rowling herself has said butterbeer tastes like butterscotch. I guarantee that last one tastes nothing like that.
Wish he'd included the Sorted Food version, as well
The ending 🤌🏼 I love how amazing you guys look together😍
Lol I love your boyfriend he has such old Staten Island man energy
Hi David, the soda you should have used is irn bru. It's a popular Scottish soda, and whenever I wanted to have at home butter beer, I would pour some in a glass with whipped cream
❤️
Stephen lowkey funny asf
Can you make flan? :)
It's cool to see Greg from HTD on this channel. I've been watching him for a while. He's worth a follow if you're into cocktails. It's also cool to see Fat Tire ale on here. That's a really good beer.
I'm real confused that he went with good ale like Fat Tire for the buttered beer, but settled for Boylan cream soda for the Babish version.
@@LibertyMonk I like Boylan's cherry cola, but have never had the cream soda. Does it suck?
The one I made is with butterscotch syrup, cream soda and only vanilla ice cream I think.
David is baaaackkkkk! Glad you had a well deserved break, but you were missed!
I’m glad you had a refreshing month off! Happy to see you back.
Is that a B. Dyllan Hollis reference at 7:24 with the 'nilla?
Some people said to use and egg yolk either instead or as well as the white 🤔 I'll have to test it. Lmao
Yessssssssss!!!! He’s back!! I’ve been like where the hell is David!
I tried the How to Drink one last year. I think I totally messed it up because what I got was sour and gross.
Isn’t there an official Harry Potter cookbook with the recipe?
Hey David, I’d love to see you try to recreate some Dylan Hollis’ recipes. He gets them from the antique cookbooks he collects.
As for your butter beers, I’d be inclined to try the last two. That first one was silly. Why wouldn’t the butterscotch have been warmed so the butter melted in?
You know what ma says
Excellent
Did you ride Velocicoaster??!!
3 times
I feel offened, this man really said "two door" for "tudor" 😂😂. You pronounce it like "chew duh" in the uk haha
Welcome back!!
Pfft I love how Stephen really dressed up the way he did I cry
How To Drink FTW!
I don't even like Butter beer, but I do like david videos, so guess I'm watching a butterbeer video lol
Missed you!! Great vid 👏👏😁
That little smile at 6:42 ☺🤤 Babish pulling in the W~😁😆👨🍳🧙♂🪄
When I had the Universal Studios butterbeer, I swear I could taste some very, very slight citrus notes. Just enough to brighten the flavor. That makes me wonder how it would taste if you started with Sprite as a base, instead of cream soda. Cream sodas just give a very flat sweet taste to the drink.
I had asked if I could get alcohol in my butter beer and they said that none of us were allowed to put alcohol in there’s cause it was a trademarked drink.
After a long day of wizardry 😂
Fun fact: At one point in time...the Wizarding World was almost built at DISNEY WORLD! In June of 2003 JK Rowling and Warner Brothers signed an initial letter of intent with Disney, then headed by CEO Michael Eisner. Though Disney believed in Harry Potter’s profitability, coming off the heels of its financial loss associated with 9/11, they...weren't in a good position to say the least. Basically, JK Rowling wanted creative control over how the land was gonna be built, but Disney refused to listen. Disney wanted to build only a cutout of Hogwarts posted to the main attraction's entrance (with the attraction being a Space Ranger Spin clone), a cart themed to the Leaky Cauldron, and a Hippogriff animatronic meet and greet...that's it.
Rowling was unhappy of course, and asked Disney to expand on it so it's more like the films. After Disney proposed a Sorting Hat clone of Dumbo, she turned to Universal, who was more than happy to let her have creative control.
The end 😂😂😂👍👍
what is the outro song?
Always happy to see Babish win the round
Awesome! Love your videos David!
HES BACK!
Henry 8. 'only' chopped the head off of two of his six wives. The saying goes: divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded survived.
Stephen! So glad you're back on the channel with David!
But isn't butterbeer non alcoholic??
Last one was supposed to be 5 egg yolks!
Love the mashup of David, Babish, H2D & Harry Potter. It's a beautiful treat after a very long, tough week. Thank you David. You made my week.
The last two look more like Polyjuice potion .. especially the last one.
Im soooo glad you are back! Ive been checking the channel everyday for a while
If the "perfect" butterbeer is served in a plastic cup...... then I have questions....
Interesting video!!
When I go to universal and get butter beer, I never understand how they just pour it in a cup from the keg or whatever and it gets that cream on top without anything added. I don’t think they add anything, but I could be wrong. But if so… Like…how? Lol
"...that's some interesting ale." Don't know why but that cracked me up
Stephen's cameo after the end credits sent me 😂😂😂
I don’t drink soda whatsoever and when I had gone to universal I had asked if they use soda in the Butterbeer and the worker told me they don’t use soda. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Hey David, you did a major mistake in the last recipe, it was egg yolks, not whites.
Dude! Where have you been?! Missed your vids!
My only experience with butterbeer is this one brand (I wish I remembered what it’s called) that attempts to make it and it’s sickly sweet
If it tasted like Werthers Original it was probably Flying Cauldron brand. Also tried that one, not good.
@@hurtmei6420 yeah that's exactly what it was! I was a cashier in an upscale grocery store that sold it last summer and this one guy would buy, like, ten cases at once and nothing else. I had to know what it tasted like! The verdict was that it was kinda terrible. I do think it grew on me a little, though.
