  • This is the first mine I explored in an area I had not visited since I was caught in an underground earthquake.
    In this abandoned mine, we'll take you down to one of the many fascinating mines in Nevada.
    This mine exploration is a unique experience that will let you discover what lies deep underground. It's an adventure you don't want to miss!

    You have really good directional intuition. I've watched you turn left and right several times, where I would have stuck to either the right hand or left hand rule. I was really surprised there were no ore cart tracks. That's a lot of rock to haul by manual labor.
    Thank you for the explore. I'm glad you got out safe.

    Man I feel you on the quake. I live in Southern New Mexico where we have a ton of Air Force fighter activity. More than once a sonic boom has gone off almost directly over a mine I'm in and you'll get a few little chunks dropping from the ceiling. High pucker factor! Cool video.

      Me too there’s plenty of old mine workings around where I live and some years back one of my older brothers friends got killed as his dog went down one chasing some creature and there was a fall in so I have a healthy respect for these places.

    Funny, My father and I were caught in an earthquake underground at a huge mine in the mountains near Yosemite. Never moved so fast in our lives. massive operation, lots of water and huge stopes. would love to go back and see if its still open. Indian flat area, private property. If you find a massive casting from a burned up grand piano, you are near the adit.

    Bags of amfo nitrate mmmmmmmm serious blasting , hello country rock move out of the way curtain raiser and door opening expander and hole maker indeed travelling on through....amfo be like that leaves few cracks but much to be mucked out ,albeit in rather small pieces and associated dust motes , it made nitro gel a poor cousin and brought to the fore one cubic feet of rock will produce three cubic meters of rock its a geological scale and is true, hence wit the gobbing on older mines they saved trucking out the waste rock back in the dynamite days . @19:58 they where still following the seam of quarts I would guess. Hello from Australia opal miner here. Great explore indeed thanks for taking me along with you.

    At 19:00 minuets you are way in there ,what were they mining for and where is all the rock from these tunnels and how did they get it out of there, i didn't see any tracks for wheeling it or carting it out? are there big piles outside the entrance that i missed? Great video, but creepy ,i wouldn't want to be in there.

    You need to turn down your light some when viewing the grappihti. It fads out what ever you are looking at for us. That carved out area behind the door looks like it was their dynamite or explosives storage. It looks like the earthquake or maybe just "time" brought down the rock work on the back of the adet. The mineral looks to be very porus on the walls the further that you went in. Do you have any idea what was being mined here? Thanks for your "no fear" explore for you & us.

    do the chances of a cave in increase much during an earthquake?

    • @johnpurdy3336
      @johnpurdy3336 10 місяців тому

      Depends on different factors like how strong or weak the rock in that area is and how strong the earthquake is. The weaker the rock, the weaker the earthquake can be to make it collapse, which greatly increases the chance of a cave in. Also depends on the depth of the earthquake.

    I worry about you man , seeing a bag with “ Amonia -nitrate , Explosives “on it and trying to lift / and or move it , was NOT the brightest or safest thing to do !! I may not have as many years of experience going into old mines as you my friend, but I know Damn well how dangerous old Dynamite & explosives can become after long periods of moisture / humidity / etc, and if I run across ANY, I give them a wide berth & proceed with extreme caution . Messing with the wrong piece of history in an old mine shaft just might “ Blow up your UA-cam channel “ in ways you definitely won’t want it to. Just my 2 cents here . As you always say , “ Get out & explore , but stay safe “ . Better practice a bit more discretion in future around unknown bags or containers as you just never know …. C-ya hopefully on your next escapade. 😎👍

    I like how all you mine explorer’s think you keep things “secret “ it’s laughable a best ! Living in Nevada and California for years and exploring every single weekend and on days off I’ve been to every single mine that’s ever been posted on utube .heck I’ve even worked at some way back in the day .I could easily name the mine and mining district in any state west of the Rockies. Lol. So spare the melodrama and just make a video of you trespassing and leave it at that
