That scene where she was sitting on the floor of library when he came with handcuffed, its was when she realised every book he borrowed from the library he left a message to her asking a date from her... He loves her from the beginning of the movie...
And when he checks her phone, its not she desperate for marriage its was about her family and sister's wedding that she can't attend...She miss her family and want to attend sister's wedding.. That's why he took her to the storage room in the wedding hall where her sister's wedding took place... And he plays wedding video live for her to fulfill her wish..

There are many things you did not understand or missed out in the movie. Saru is actually cursed by her father when he decides to perform her funeral rites despite her being alive. It is a movie i would describe as 'a love story with a curse'. I highlighted some of the important scenes that you misunderstood.
6:35 The reason saru wanted to get married was because she thought if she got married to an NRI, her father would forgive and accept her.
The reason why Inder did not propose to because first he knew her father hated him and would never accpet him or her.
Second is that he believe that sari should marry the best man ans he was not a good choice for her because he is a criminal.
8:05 The reason why abhimanyu's father refuses to let him marry her is because her father has performed her funeral rites while she was still alive. He cannot accept a girl like this as his daughter in law.
8:22 she goes to her honeymoon room and says that only she paid for the room and because of abhimanyu leaving, they cannot waste that money. She and Inder kiss but right after Inder back off because he does not want to take advantage of her broken emotional state.
8:46 Inder thinks that abhimanyu and saru got together and so decided to leave. When her mother comes to tell him to give saru the card, he says that he does not talk to her anymore but still he accepts to give the card to saru.
9:35-9:55 The photos in the phone is not because she is desperate for a wedding but because she wants to see her sieter getting married. For this reason, Inder shows her the wedding live through the tv not her father picture.
10:00 Saru first refuses to marry Inder because she thinks that he is marrying her out of pity.
In the books that Inder gave her before 2:10 , he wrote some messages which saru never read about.
10:40 She reads those messages and realises that Inder loved her since the beginning and despite looking 'ugly'. She realises how he dismissed his feelings only for her happiness.
10:55 The only reason why Inder did not tell her about this himself is because he knew that if he married her, her father would never accept a criminal as a son in law and nor accept her daughter back. That is why he gave her a makeover so that other people can like her.
11:15 Inder goes there to tell his father not to put a garland around saru's picture because she feels hurt whenever she sees her picture like this 11:05.(in their culture, when someone is dead, you put a garland around their picture).
12:25 The reason Inder hates his father is because he refuses to fight his case. When he was young he had a nanny whom he considered as his mother. But, his uncle tried to rape her. So, In self defense she killed him. Inder knew his father would never believe that his brother did such a despicable thing, so he took the blame upon himself. Saru tells him that 'people don't stay together because they forget but it's because they forgive each other. '
11:53 Her father lets them get married because he got to know about how deep Inder loves her when he says ' i can kill someone or myself for her happiness'
12:06 when her father gets to know about the tumour, he realises that he was the one who wished for her death and unwantedly put a curse upon her.
I know i wrote a lot but this is my fav movie and therefore i had to highlight these important scenes that were missed. The name of the movie, sanam teri kasam, means 'O beloved, for your sake'. The writer chose a very appropriate title because clearly everything he does is only for her sake. Like accepting to see her with someone else only for her sake...

I remember watching this film on the television when I was a kid. I still think about the film a lot and the worst part is, I didn't even remember the name of the movie. This film made me sentimental at the age of 8. Today, this popped up in my recommendations and believe me, I'm happier than ever. Thank you N Recaps, this is nostalgia

the part where you said that Inder went to Saru's parent's place and caused drama, he didn't cause drama. He told her father to stop putting the garland of dead flowers over her picture and said it hurt him. He took off the garland and put it on himself. And told them to never do that again

She was cursed by her own parents who perform death rituals on they child who is alive.
Those weren't death rituals those were rituals that happen after a person had died for the soul to rest in peace. Her family disowned her but didn't perform rituals for her to die.

The movie recap is excellent. I would like to correct a few mistakes you made:
1. 0:15 The elderly man in the kitchen is Inder's house help (Not his father).
2. 4:30 Saraswati wasn't looking for a job in this scene. As Jairam, her father broke all the connections with her she had nowhere to go and so, she was looking for a place to live which she couldn't find.
3. 6:42 The reason for her makeover wasn't that she found someone. She tells her friend (Abhimanyu) that she wanted to woo some well-educated and highly qualified (IIT IIM) man with her makeover and marry him.
4. 6:55 In the movie, she revealed the reason in the scene. She tells Inder that she gets nervous and ends up saying something stupid in front of Abhimanyu (Saru's friend from work) which is also the reason why she has been avoiding him.
5. 8:06 Saru after losing hope and getting humiliated so much, heartbroken closes the door herself and walks away.
5. 9:03 Saru wasn't angry at Inder because he let her go. In fact, Saru wasn't angry at all.
6. 9:40 Yes, Saru is desperate for marriage because she wants to fix things with her dad but in this scene, the photos in question are the ones Saru saved for her sister's marriage. Inder looks at the photos and realizes how important it is for saru to attend her sister's wedding and so, he gives her a surprise in the upcoming scenes.
7. 10:59 You should have mentioned how Saraswati got to know about Inder's love for her. The library cards(loan cards, check-out cards, or whatever they are called I'm not sure) played a very important part in this. When Inder returned the books he rented from the library, he wrote some messages which saru never read about.10:40 She reads those messages and realizes that Inder loved her from the beginning despite her looks. She realizes how he prioritized her happiness over his feelings, helped her give a makeover so she can marry a nice guy and reunite with her family.
The movie is called "Sanam Teri Kasam" which translates to "O beloved, for your sake." I recommend watching this film. It's a 10/10.
P.S I have corrected even the smallest mistakes you made and don't get me wrong you have done a fantastic job with the recap. It's just that this movie is dear to me, the corrections I've made are minute things but they make a huge impact on the viewers. I believe little things matter the most. I understand you can't mention the little details in a movie recap but this one is special. It's all about the little things.
One of the best Indian movies, I say. Not a happy ever after and painfully realistic. Everyone learned a life lesson. This is a story worth watching.
This is one of my favourite movies and the explanation has missed alot and has been explained wrong. E.g. Inder asked Saru to get dressed up for a surprise and he took Saru at her sister's wedding hall to recreate the moments she missed while she was in the hospital also played sister's wedding video which he had recorded by installing cameras

I remember watching this movie in my hostel room alone...and it ws approx 3 am when it ended. I was crying like i lost someone personal and i walked in lawn and kept crying. Gosh..this movie hits hard with it's incredible story, actors acting and it's beautiful songs.
Yup I have the same story with my roommates just cryingggg & then my roommate's friend watched it with her roommates & they were also just sadddd ,crying & this continued till my whole girl gang watched it eventually & cried
Yeah😁 I remember my neighbour room girls asking fr this movie ( my review) , i told them to must watch. Next night they watched it while i was studying in my room quietly. After watching movie they came to my room with swelling ,puffy and red eyes and still crying. They said " Wo kyu mar gai 😭😭😭" I burst in laughter after seeing their condition. It was funny and sad at the same time.

I have watched this movie numerous times. It's not just my favorite but ironically my siblings' favorite also, which never happens because the three of us have different tastes in the genre. This is the only movie that we had downloaded and kept for years.

Yeah some movies and love stories are pretty shits but famous. This one is really underrated.
This is one of my most favourite movies. I've seen it so many times now and every time I feel a connection strangely. I really liked the main lead character here- I too developed a tiny crush on Harsh Vardhan rane at the time of its release.😅

I remember as a child how I use to love Indian movies and how it made me cry when I watched this...
The recap missed so many important parts like
Inder liked saru since the beginning he just kept distance from her due to her strict father.
Inder used to write his feelings on back of library cards which she never noticed and read later in the scene he was arrested.
Saru always thought that inder is with her out of pitty and that's why she didn't accepted his feelings at first as she was not his first choice.
He was in prison for murder charges of his uncle who tried to sexually assault his nanny who was like mother to him and she killed him in self defence. He knew his father would not trust the nanny so he took the blame.
Saru wasn't rejected due to her being ugly but the NIR guy preference of western explicit type in saru which she wasn't and so she felt her looks are the problem.
Inder was broadcasting her sister wedding not old clips of her father.
Saru always liked abhimanyu that's why she instantly accepted his proposal whether to be laughing stock dressed as bear or to marry her.

Inder is one of the best gangster but very romantic, passionate & tender Lover. His carings towards Saru shows it all. The film trailer said it well *"Nobody loved her and He was a nobody, a love story sealed with a curse".* This is a must watch for all the really really Passionate and emotional type of lovers, cuz not all people get it. I remembered crying buckets everytime I see this movie, my nose and eyes become red. I'm single But still, it's my favorite. For those who don't know the name of the Bollywood movie, its *'Sanam Teri Kasam"* - what a masterpiece of art. All the songs hold a deep meaning, and are worth listening, with good quality subtitles. For ex- when Saru says, Yes for becoming the dancing bear for Abhimanyu's boss's party, its not because she wanted to, but because she secretly has a crush on him so without thinking, she says yes. But at the party, other girls and Abhi's girlfriends mock her, saying why?, is he going to give you a present after doing all this nonsense for him?, that time.. The song - *Haal-e dil mera* plays, it's very intense and emotional. It's about writing Saru xxoo in greeting cards to Abhi and crushing over him at work place but HE, is totally unaware of it, on the other hand at house, she keeps getting scolded from both her father and kaveri mocking her for looking ugly... and in the midst of all this she bumps into Inder inside the elevator, which later gets stuck cuz of construction, and he attempts to take off his clothes not knowing that it's a girl inside the Bear suit. The meaning of the track song is- *"The condition of my heart.. don't ask, my beloved"* It's sung by Neeti Mohan.
