t=This town was founded in 1881 as a Silver ore mining town after the discovery of silver ore and other minerals in the area. the town was named after the colors of the rocks in the area.
the town grew quickly, attracting over 1200 residents and becoming the center of more than 500 mines by 1892 the mines had produced 20 million worth of silver and $9 million in borate mineral's
Bust.
however the town was largely abandoned in the mid 1890s when the price of silver fell and was no longer profitable to mine it.

Si, muy hermoso el pueblo de Calicó California yo vivo en adelanto CA y nunca me canso de ir ,es un relax caminar por su calle principal e imaginarme como era la vida en esos tiempos estoy a 45 minutos de ahí pero cada vez que me invitan voy, o si yo invito les sirvo de guía amis invitados se los recomiendo😄Es para pasar una agradable mañana en compañía de la familia¡
