I just got myself a one owner 2010 9-5 this past week. I’m glad to know it’s not so much as a money pit some people keep telling me it will be. If you take care of it, keep it serviced, you will prosper
Perfect for You. Got some problems with rear diff in 2012, on turbox with auto and 40-50k miles. But just oil/filter service and runs good till sell @70k miles. Don't like keep him longer. My 1999 Griffin with coilovers, Porsche brakes, maptun wheel its just much better for me.
What a great deal! Looking forward to more NG9-5 videos :) I think you should do a seat heat replacement video. Get back to original if you don't like the switch :-D . I think the quality of the OEM seat pads has improved. Trunk button, I don't have that in the TurboX either, that's a 2008, although it's a wagon, maybe it's different in the Saloon?
Yes. A heated seat repair will be well received i think. A lot of people have trouble with these and would probably like a tutorial on changing it. Also, if you are putting it back to original state, the plastic cover on the side of the seat is REALLY cheap. I just bought one for mine. I think on the 9-3, the boot lock button on the door is only in 2003 model. just like the hidden headlight washers.
I know that our 2010 has a trunk (boot) release on the driver's door, however it could be because I have US spec cars. And my plan is to put it back to stock, I truly dislike aftermarket electronics.
@@SaabDr Awesome. I had to check the EPC, and you are right. It seems that all US/CA 9-3s had the button, but only the 03 SS and 06-07 SC had the button in Europe.
@@Mangotrond that's what I figured. Do Sedans (saloons) have a trunk release on the handle? In the US only a few years did-- other than convertible and combi.
One thing to check on any NG 9-5 with a 2.8 v6 is the wiring harness that runs down between turbo/exhaust and the engine compartment left fender well , inspect it for heat damage ,, we found in some cases the high temps in that area would cause the split plastic wiring harness protector covering the harness to shrink pulling the harness out of position and too close to the exhaust if you don't address the issue it will then melt the inner harness wiring anchor the wiring harness back in position we cover the harness with insulated heat protection tape wrap.
I'm still baffled by that price. It's just unreal for me... I know there is a huge difference in taxes and such from US to Norway, but still. The cheapest NG9-5 in Norway at the time is a medium+ equipped, silver 160hp diesel Vector for 22K USD A Turbo6 will run you $50K at least. You are lucky to have such a awesome car for a silly price like that :P
I've been doing research to find cross compatible parts as I need them. There really isn't a database other than taking the Saab PN and googling it with the term GM in the search instead of Saab. Thars worked for some stuff, the rest has been trial and error and research.
Thanks. I think the camera issue is a mix between the go pro not doing well indoors. I actually use a Bluetooth mic (which is way better than my initial videos) but agree there is definitely room for improvement. It'll come with time. :-)
Love my 2010 Saab 9-5 aero turbo 6 but I'm worried I need to replace timing chains P008, P009 and a crank shaft position sensor... Check engine light has been on for 2+years car starts drive fine but lacks power after coming to a stop but regains it once past 10 mph
My 2007 9-3 Vector Sport hasn’t got one on the door card.Currently looking at a 2010 9-3 Calsson. Auto 2.8V6 XWD.Only 96 produced apparently.Gorgeous Looking Car But comes at a price.Really can’t make up my mind whether to or not.
Just don't buy the cheapest ditchfinders for tires and you schould be fine. Hankook is a good mid-field choise unless you wanna go full Michelin/ Conti /Goodyear.
My go to tires are the Hankook Noble S1 and the Continental PureContact or ExtremeContact DWS... I did look at Michelin tires since Sam's Club was running a special on Michelin

if you want winter tire buy Nokian Hakkapellita 9. If you want all season buy Continental DSW06
No "all season" tires in Finland
It's a Saab, of course it's a moneypit, that's why we love them.
Isn't that the truth.
Raceraddictted Plays I would disagree. My Saab 9-5 has been average in cost such as oil change, etc. no issues at all and I’m at 110,000 miles

Congrats from a 2011 Saab 95 Aero. I just have to replace the left headlight, expensive replacement, more than $800. Enjoy, is a great car!!
We bought a second Saab this week- 2009 9-3 Aero with XWD (poor man's Turbo X). Saab's are like Pringles, can never stop at just one.
I look at the 09 Aero XWD as the Turbo X you can have in the color of your choice lol
Great video man!!! Keep up the excellent videos!!
It is an amazing road trip car!! Missing the old 9-5 NG :(
I can't wait to get to the airport tonight to pick mine up. It's been a long 10 days without her

The saloon/sedan has a button on the driver's door card. I our 08 Combi has one there as well. Maybe that's an EU vs US Spec car thing?

Great video. On my 9-3 Hirsch I got Michelins pilot sports. Awesome tire.
I was looking at some Michelin tires. I'm a huge Continetal fan, but I may try something different with this car.

Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look at it!
Good vid. My 900i died last week. Rotor arm failure...10$..first part in 50000 klms..lol
Nice video SAABs are the best glad to see you taking car car of it.. you know you can buy cheap chevy parts for the brakes they fit cost $20
Thanks! I actually bought LaCrosse rotors/pads for it. I was looking at some other options but wanted to do stock brakes.
@@SaabDr I buy parts from these guys in Connecticut www.eeuroparts.com/
Great car was thinking about one of these recently, own a 2011 saab 93 myself.
Having both they're both great cars. The 9-5 is definitely nicer for longer trips.
Well done!
I got some Falken ZE950 tires. They are all seasons with a snow/ice bias. I like them.
Do you plan to swap out the stereo? Maybe for the original navigation system?
I have that vibration in the 2010 93 I just got. I'll be interested to see if tires make it go away. Hardly noticeable, but it is there.
Get new tires and a balance

Yeah it's truly a steal, even here in the US. This car should bring somewhere between 8-10k USD normally.
I still love the Saab 95 ! That V6 turbo ;-)
How do you know what non-Saab (like Buik LaCrosse, Cadillac STX, others) parts can be used as replacements? Is there an online knowledge base?

I`m in CANADA ALWAYS LOOKING FOR DIFFERENT CARS (i AM 66 AND FIRST CAR WAS A FIAT 128) COULD YOU HELP ME FIND A LAST GENERATION 9.5
Thanks!!
Nice channel mate, buy a new camera and you're set! :) Maybe a mic aswell. Greetings from Sweden.

Did you ever fix the lightbar?
I haven't yet. At this point I'm waiting for winter to be over.
Can you stream music through the aux from Pandora or Google Music ect?
Yes, you can.
You've got a trunk release button on your key, assuming it's an original Saab one.
Yes, I know. I should have clarified. I meant on the car itself, not the fob. I have 2 original Saab fobs.
Cooper Zeon, pirelli p7 cinturato or if you can find them vredestein Quatrac 5.
thanks baby joey

try changing the air filter if you havnt done so recently

Definitely needs chains.
Haven’t you got a boot/trunk open button on your key fob?
Yes, but there wasn't one in the car, which really threw me for a loop.
All about cost cutting.European cars are built on a budget and are painfully short on creature comforts at times
Makes sense. I'm just accustomed to our 9-3s and my former 9-5 which all had a button on the driver's door card.

Sticker on that in had to be $50k+.
Before GM owned Saab they wasn't a moneypit
If you want to repair the lightbar, I can recomend the repair kit from www.hblom.se really nice quality and good instructions.
I'll look into that! I was looking into just sending it out via saabled.com
I mean even if you put like 8-9k in it you still wouldn’t be upside down
For a 2010 I think 8-9k would be a little strong, but that doesn't mean it's not worth it or that I won't end up investing that. Lol
Steal. Absolute steal.
Get some Blizzaks!!!!
Awesome car for the cost of a junk Accord with 250k miles...priceless.
Steal of a price either way
Please don’t be offended but less babbling, get to the points
