Thanks a lot for saying so. I'm glad you like that.
I agree that there should be more music comparisons between products and not just a reviewers opinion of them. There should be both so you can hear what it is that they are describing.
I think I should do more comparison videos since people like to see that.

The difference is hearable. Vestia have nore air around intruments and deepness. I would say that Vestia sounds alive, while Chora sounds like a speaker.

      @connectronix17  Рік тому +3

Yep! I know what you mean. I could tell the highs were better and it did have a bit more depth and better placement within the soundstage. I'm going to say that it has to do with that new M tweeter.

To my ears the Chora clearly sounds better. It has air around the instruments and vocals where the Vestia sounds boxy and congested in comparison. Interesting as the Chora is a lot cheaper here in the UK. I think the Chora is great value for money if a little on the big and ungainly side size wise.

    • @connectronix17
      @connectronix17  Рік тому +1

I agree with a lot of what you said. The Vestia is boxier sounding in the midrange in comparison to the Chora. So the airiness of the Chora is better in the midrange but the airiness of the highs and detail is better in the Vestia because of the new M tweeter.
But overall the Chora is a great value if you can still get hands on them.
And yes, the Chora 806 is rather big compared to the more compact Vestia No1. I prefer the Vestia's size and design.

The Chora were boomy , vocals were thin and treble was not precise, Vestia bass was well defined and controlled, vocals were defined and full, highs were controlled well defined and precise, might have to trade my Arias🤔

I have managed to get 4 x chora 816 floorstanders and they sound amazing to me! Will be getting the centre speaker to match but wasnt sure whether to get the Vestia instead , but as there definitely seems to be a difference and to my ears, the vocals seem separated more with the choras, i will get that to match.

The Chora High Frequency goes higher to my ears i.e. brighter , The Vestia are less open sound ,boxy sound is a good description , so it's all about tweeter tuning difference.they are not my type of speakers , l preferred Dali speakers for smoothness separation and clarity in an affordable way. Thank You, for other option i'll go Polk r700 for control and clarity weighty mids !

    The Chora definitely sounds better.
The difference(s) was obvious with You've Got a Friend. The Vestia sounded thinner and even more forward than the Chora.

Congratulation for the comparing, it happens to interest me a lot!
As, i could hear, they were a l m o st the same !....But, the older chora, sounded , for sure, a little more ..rich.. ? So the fact that vestia is newer , a little pricier and ...i have to put so much effort to find if any difference, didn't "sound" very appealing to me! :) The positive i could tell for the newer vestia, was , at the track played around : 13.03, was more "airy" live and 3 d sounding. But maybe some music with more natural instruments-sounds, or orchestra with classical music could reveal more things. Generally...the chora 806 is very strong and close to what we call "natural", and sounds like the music..flοw free .. which is something i like and respect very much!

I just took the tweeter grills off of the Choras so both speakers were both without grills when doing the comparison. I can't say that doing so makes a substantial difference, but I'll often take all of the grills off when critical listening.
I'd say that some music that they are pretty close. But the last song with that high triangle sound in it, the M tweeter on the Vestia is so much better.
I'd imagine that things will continue to get better as they break in.

      @@jakeslavin9355 I wouldn't say pry, lol
Since the grills are made of metal and the tweeter is a magnet, they are just held in magnetically.
With the tweeter grills on the Chora's I was just able to pull them off with a slight twist and try to get your finger in there to get enough of it to grab it to pull it off.
The older Chorus speakers where more difficult to get off and would usually require a paperclip of something to get in there and pull it off.

I have Chora 826 Ds. They really separate percussion. The vestia integrates the drums into the music, and is not as open. Diana Krall CDs really isolate the drums and bass player. Vestias are easier listening to me at the expense of being less precise. For me both have their merits. I like my Choras and play them with Dolby Atmos jumpered to play all the time. They are wonderful for Diana Krall and Norah Jones and even sound great on Beatles CDs. Couldn't pass them up on close out.

I have listened to several Focal speakers, including some five digit ones, and the marque has never done anything for me. The sound is just too thin and fatiguing for me. They seem to favor detail over ultimate musicality. I don't find the Vestia to be a significant improvement over its predecessor. I have had tons of manufacturer reps, procuct reps, and customers on there over the last decade plus, and no one ever said it was a bad sounding room. And I’ve often had reps say the opposite and mention that our room sounds good and actually much better than most dealers that they deal with.
There are a lot of bad rooms out there.
I’m not going to say that our room is the most ideal audiophile room because it’s not. I wish we had more width to play with.
So, our room might not be the greatest but it most certainly isn’t bad.
What likely is bad is the camera and camera mic and mediocre recording/editing skills. Now that I’ll admit isn’t great. I need to continue to work on that and improve.
Our point of the videos is to show the stuff we do, the cool equipment and products, and to give some advice along the way. We want people to know that we exist as part of the industry and to be another option for people to watch.

Cables need at least 20 minutes run time every time you move them around. And they should be kept off the carpet!

I'm sure they need a little time to settle but I've never heard 20 minutes. I'd imagine every cable and every situation is different. But if you're switching back and forth between speakers, both speakers are experiencing the same cables and their lack of time on them.
I don't like cable on the carpet either. There are many that would agree with that. We have Cable Elevators in the system.

@@connectronix17 yes, I saw those. I was using the same same thing. But again, not trying to criticize but the demo should’ve been done separately - with the speakers playing one video at a time and not side-by-side. And I’m not sure about the speakers sitting flat on carpet. Have you ever tried a plinth (wood or granite) underneath them? Again, I’m not criticizing I’m just relating my experiences.

And I just saw that you have some ISOAcoustics there. How do you like those?

I had them sitting side-by-side when I was showing and talking about the differences between them and it was just easier to leave them as they were and just do a quick swap of cables.
I agree to do it better would be to record each one separately with them setup in their proper position.
I always use the spikes whenever possible because of the carpet.
And of course I've thought of a plinth of some sort. Like a nice thick heavy piece of granite with spikes on it. But not only would that raise the speaker up another couple inches, we don't want to show products that customers can't come in and buy. But personally its something to think about.

I really like the IsoAcoustics. They make a lot of great products now and they keep expanding the line. They're great people there and are innovative with cost effective products that work. As I'm sure you know, some of the audiophile cones, spikes, and isolators can be priced insane.
I have an unboxing and overview video in the works.

Bad configuration of the speakers which are positioned at different distances from the side walls!!! It is OBVIOUS that the response of both the low frequencies and the mids are slightly greater; full-bodied with Vestia!! Furthermore, hearing your very high-pitched voice makes me understand that your environment is VERY reflective and NOT AT ALL suitable for SERIOUS listening! Finally, the pure comparison is done differently and with an IMMEDIATE transition from 1 system to another!!! TOO MANY errors!! If you are a trader I advise you to change profession!!! Try selling fish! As a screamer you can do well: you will certainly be more successful!!
