The fact he's not in the Hall, because he decided to stay a while in Toronto with those awful teams, while he's the all-time HR leader among Puerto Rican players; is absolutely preposterous! 🇵🇷
He was great... red soxs fan... he was a hof talent idk his stats but sure seemed it.... wall still fears him
finally his 5th deck blast, been looking for it for years
Greatest hitter in Jays history. Wow could we use him now.
ME, TOO!!! Not only that, but the replay was shown 😃
I find it amazing as a kid I could watch entire baseball games of the Jays during this era and most of it was because of Delgado.
I saw that Delgado upper deck homer vs Yankees live on July 18 1998
do you know what the official distance of it was? I've seen a few clips of Delgado crushing balls but he does not show on lists of long homeruns at Skydome/Rogers Centre.
I got to see him hit 3 hrs in a game over my head in Tampa Bay. Good times.
It's insane how he's not in the Hall of Fame.
Playing in Canada will do that to a guy. Ask Dave Steib.
Meh, him and Fred McGriff were the same guy. Couldn’t imagine them in the HOF, there were so many better 1B at the same time
@Sam0 B00 McGriff played 19 seasons and ended with 493 homers and a 134 OPS+. He was worth 56.2 WAR on offense. Delgado played 17 seasons, ended his career with 473 homers and a 138 OPS+. He was worth 50.8 WAR on offense. I think they were much more similar than you give them credit for.
The reason why I don’t think they’re HOFers is because their careers overlapped with Frank Thomas, Jeff Bagwell, Todd Helton, Jim Thome, and somewhat overlapped careers with guys like Albert Pujols and Will Clark. And if you want to include tainted guys, you can add in Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, and Jason Giambi. Shit even John Olerud finished close in OPS+ and above them in WAR. Then 1B get lumped in with other corner positions like RF, and even DHs because it’s a position expected to hit in the biggest offensive era since the 30s, and what you get is maybe the 7th or 8th best clean guy, with a couple of roid users also performing better, just at that one position, on a loaded ballot with other heavy hitters at other positions that should get inducted way before Delgado does.
He did everything you could ask of him in Toronto. No one who actually watched him play, day in and day out, values Halladay as HOF and not Delgado.
@@notsauer delgado is not in the hof because hes political thinking...delgado dont support the iraq war and dont stand for the american songs in the 7inning
That is an impressive reel.
I loved watching Delgado play baseball.
thats my boy. class act.
Belongs in the Hall.
I saw this challenge on the show 22 had to see for myself
Everybody knows he is a hof
