There's no way you can compare Kamaru and Sean.
1. Literally the ONLY top 10 fighter Sean fought before getting a title shot was Petr Yan. Meaning, he has not even fought most of the fighters in his division.
2. Sean has had ONE title defense, and that single title defenseis against a guy with a record almost as bad as Masvidal's. Kamaru won FIVE title defenses against THREE (not two) different fighters before bringing up Canelo. He beat Colby, Jorge, and Gilbert. And Colby and Gilbert both have good records. Kamaru's hope was to fight Canelo after he beat Leon, which obviously didn't happen. But Kamaru would've had 6 defenses against 4 different fighters, and would've had wins against almost every top 10 fighter before a potential boxing match. He was literally lapping the 170lb division. How do you compare that to O'Malley?
Idk who it was but someone said no champ should be getting an opportunity for double champ status until they've had at least 3 title defenses. Same should apply for boxing.
Usman defended the belt 5 times and was riding the second longest winstreak in UFC history which he started by winning the ultimate fighter as well as being the p4p # 1 fighter in his third year as champion. Sean just got the belt. You’re being intentionally dishonest by claiming there’s no difference or you’re a casual and you just don’t know any better.
^ Usman was also a horrible draw and was a WRESTLER before a striker. He knocked out old Jorge Masvidal at the tail end of his career. It wouldn’t have made any logical sense from a PPV standpoint or a fighting standpoint to put Usman against Canelo. Canelo would’ve beat the goddamn BRAKES off that juiced up gorilla. Get real.
