When my Dad fought professional he competed in Martial Arts tournaments and fought full contact open weight class in the oil fields. He was asked to represent Okinawa in the World tournament as well as asked to represent America and my Dad's OG Sensei is American but when his Sensei got in a bad motorcycle accident and was bed ridden he became Morio Higaonna student who asked him to represent Japan in Worlds. My Dad didn't compete because he wouldn't betray either Sensei. He lost twice to the world champion and that's it.

He's a 9th degree in Okinawan Goju Ryu but doesn't do much anymore because in 2000 he got misdiagnosed with something he didn't have and because of that lost 60% of oxygen in his lungs and he has been battling Cancer for a few years. He quit competing when I was born because he just got his third back surgery. UFC came out months later and he hated his life because he went all in on college because he dropped out as a freshman so he could work full time to help his Mom. Anyways he now has 3 master degrees and was a CEO of water and sewer utility for 28 years but in utilities for 40. He retired but he still assists the new GM.
