When they were announcing the candidates for New Artist and her voice and song came on I was floored!!! In my 69 years I’ve never heard such a beautiful voice as hers since I was little and remembered Ella Fitzgerald singing. She’s a generational singer.
She has such a lovely voice. It reminds me of Lala Hathaway in moments. I just learned about her as an artist thanks to her feature on CBS Mornings. So glad she is getting to make the rounds on other shows too!

I had never heard of Samara Joy before watching the Grammy Awards. When she won the award, I looked up her online & immediately got both her albums. She's absolutely amazing, truly a wonder. Everyone should check her out.
Since I was a teen, I was in love with Ella Fitzgerald‘s voice call Mondella I had the privilege of attending small private concerts with such great artists like Dianne Reeves and Cassandra Wilson… But when I walked into my sisters home and heard this sound, I was astounded… She is the rebirth of all of the greats Including Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, and so many more different aspects of all of them combined with her own gift provides extraordinary pleasure 🎉
We just saw her in concert last week. I’m in awe of the vocal control she has. She’s quite magical.

According to Google, Samara’s 5’7” and Drew is 5’4” but Drew’s wearing higher heels and there’s still quite a height difference. I think Google gave Drew an inch or two 🥰
