For that thread stand, open the top of your machine and lift it straight up by the sides. Then you can slide the thread stand in the top. Isn’t it a beautiful machine!❤
My husband bought me a Babylock Altair too, it should be delivered this week. I am so anxious to get it. How do you like yours? Hoping to see more videos on your Altair.
I love it! Although some things it is said to do mine does not because Baby Lock does not do updates on any of there sewing machines. Shame but still it is a wonderful sewing machine. My machine does not do all the same colors at one time. Also as for changing sizes it only changes about 15% and it is not adjust the stitches to the new size change you have to do it and guess if you are right or not. I was misled on these two facts and there may be more we shall see.
that's really disappointing to hear. I was really excited about the ability to increase design sizing and have the machine automatically adjust the stitches. So Babylock does do some updates to their machines but I did just recently hear they only do "upgrades" to the Solaris. This was a pretty expensive purchase so hopefully I am not disappointed. I do have a Babylock Flare now and absolutely love it, just wanted to have the ability to use a larger hoop.
You will love the Altair too but I was so looking forward to changing the designs too. My Singer Fu;tura does a better job at changing design sizes than the Altair. but the Altair really is a lovely machine. Just wondering if maybe it never changed the size and the machine automatically adjusting the stitches the only one I heard say that is Moorse's Sewing...come to think of it the only one I heard say it also did all the same color in one stitching was Moorse's. I wonder?
I bought mine from Sewing Machines Plus and they advertised the same thing and I am pretty sure other UA-cam videos done on the Altair said the same thing too. I think they said you could increase by like 200%. I got a call from the FedEx delivery today, they will not be able to bring my machine until the afternoon of the 31st, we live in a very small rural town and they will not have a truck coming before that. I am curious about the size of this machine, the delivery information says it’s 2 packages with a total weight of 225 lbs! Can that be right? If it is, this machine must be huge, bigger than I realized anyway. I don’t want to ask you to measure yours or anything but maybe you know approximately how long this is?
@@kathymckernan7378 The weight is about right, with the embroidery unit attached it’s 34.75 inches long and the sewing machine is 9.50 inches wide. It’s a very heavy sewing machine and yes, it’s huge. It comes in 2 boxes inside one really big box. I received an extra bonus box of things from Moore’s like extra bobbin cases that do not fit this machine, needles and thread, and some nice stabilizer that does fit the large hoop. But anyway yes, it is huge.

I use Saran Wrap on those spools to keep them from unraveling and keeps the dust off too.
